Capítulo 1289: Chapter 1288: I’m Not Short of Money

Ye Qiu knew that if it weren’t for him, Jinling University’s basketball team would have already lost miserably. Now that he’s here in Malaysia, for today’s match between the school team and another university’s team, he’s unsure of the outcome because he’s unaware of the other team’s capability.

However, when Coach Li called, he knew that Jinling University’s team was likely going to lose.

After hanging up, Li Yiping on the other end found it strange. Why was Ye Qiu not encouraging the school team players on the phone like before?

Ye Qiu was taking a nap and hadn’t woken up yet. When he heard the phone ring, he picked it up to find it was a call from Song Ying.

He didn’t need to be told; he had already guessed.

“Counselor, are you missing me?”

Ye Qiu asked.

“Yes, I am. You better come back soon; the school team lost badly!” Song Ying said on the other end. She found it strange too, why did the team lose so badly when Ye Qiu didn’t go with them? Clearly, their capabilities gap wasn’t small, and yet they lost by more than ten points at a home game. It would be even worse in an away game.

“Lost is lost. Anyway, you owe me no kiss this time, and even if they won, you still owe me nothing.”

“You scoundrel, thinking about that all the time. When will you be back?”

“I don’t know yet. I’m quite enjoying Malaysia and don’t want to return so soon.”

After hanging up with Song Ying, Ye Qiu didn’t bother with the domestic matters anymore.

After getting up and freshening up a bit, he went downstairs and saw no other members of the Lin Family, but the maids and servants were there. Seeing Ye Qiu awake, they asked, “Dr. Ye, do you need us to prepare some afternoon tea for you?”

“Afternoon tea? Sure!”

Ye Qiu didn’t expect the Lin Family to be so hospitable; he felt very carefree here.

The maid went to prepare afternoon tea, including coffee, tea, desserts, and pizza.

When the maid brought everything over, they were all freshly made. Lin Xiang had just woken up and saw Ye Qiu sitting in the gazebo enjoying afternoon tea, and she said, “You really know how to enjoy life!”

“It’s not me who enjoys, but your dad is hospitable.”

Lin Xiang sat across from Ye Qiu, the maid knew the young lady’s preferences and quickly brought over her favorite afternoon tea treats.

“Where do you want to go later?”

Lin Xiang took a day off to keep Ye Qiu company because she didn’t want to stay at home sleeping the whole day.

“Where do you want to go?”

Ye Qiu wasn’t staying here to play; he was here to help Lin Yazhong handle some matters, and then he’d return to the Mainland. As for when he’d come again, he wasn’t sure.

“The beach, I want to go swimming,” Lin Xiang said.

“Let’s go tomorrow!”

After finishing afternoon tea, Ye Qiu took a walk around near the Lin Family villa. It’s actually in the suburbs of Kuala Lumpur, not too far from the new administrative city, Putrajaya.

Many government functions in Malaysia have moved to Putrajaya, which might become even more bustling than Kuala Lumpur in the future.

Of course, these two cities will likely merge eventually.

Now Ye Qiu wants to invest some of his money, as bank interest yields very little.

But so far he’s unsure what to invest in here.

As Ye Qiu walked ahead, Lin Xiang, wearing a skirt, followed behind; she didn’t know what Ye Qiu was contemplating. Suddenly, Lin Xiang stopped and asked, “Do you have anyone you like?”

“Yes, more than one.”

More than one? How generous!

Lin Xiang found it curious and asked, “Which one is your girlfriend?”

“All of them are.”

Lin Xiang didn’t really believe him. Here, some Chinese expats do have multiple wives, some have them here, and some in the Mainland, living a split life.

But she naturally didn’t like such men; she preferred a dedicated man.

Of course, such a man must impress and handle her; only then would she be interested.

“You philanderer!”

Lin Xiang murmured.

“What does it have to do with you? Besides, your skin is not fair; I don’t like it,” Ye Qiu said with a smile to Lin Xiang.

What?

Ye Qiu actually disliked her skin color not being fair enough. In Malaysia, the weather is like this, unlike women on the Mainland who have porcelain skin.

“I don’t want to talk to you anymore,”

Lin Xiang, irritated, stomped back towards the Lin Family villa. Ye Qiu noticed she seemed to have some interest in him.

After Lin Xiang left, Ye Qiu sat on a stone by the roadside and saw Lin Xiang, lifting her skirt, running back.

“What’s the matter?”

“Someone from the Wang Family is here, looking for you!”

“They dare come looking for me?”

Ye Qiu asked coldly.

Nevertheless, he went back to the Lin Family villa with Lin Xiang, and sure enough, saw a middle-aged man in a suit. The man’s appearance bore some resemblance to Wang Zicheng, indicating he was Wang Zicheng’s father.

Wang Zicheng heard that his same-surname Wang boss, suffering from gout, was actually cured by Dr. Ye from Lin Yazhong’s family.

Now Wang Zicheng’s father came to the Lin Family villa before leaving. That night, when Wang Zicheng sent thugs to chase down Ye Qiu, he already felt embarrassed.

But treating the illness is the priority.

“Dr. Ye, hello. I’m Zicheng’s father, Wang Zhifeng. I apologize on behalf of the Wang Family for what happened that night,” Wang Zhifeng said.

“Is that all? Forget it, I won’t pursue it.” Ye Qiu said calmly.

“But right now, Zicheng’s not feeling well and would like you to come and help. As long as you cure his illness, the medical fee won’t be an issue.”

This surprised Lin Xiang. How could Wang Zicheng not be well? Was it because Ye Qiu kicked him that time?

That’s impossible!

If that were the case, it was just a minor ailment; why would they need Ye Qiu for a diagnosis?

“What illness?” Ye Qiu asked.

“It’s gout. I heard you just cured that Wang boss, and I happened to overhear him mention it, so I came to find you.”

Ye Qiu sneered inside.

“Sorry, I don’t need the money. You can find anyone else to treat him, but your eldest young master’s illness won’t be treated by me.”

Wang Zhifeng clearly saw that Ye Qiu was still angry about that matter.

“Dr. Ye, please consider it. I will wait for you anytime!”

When Wang Zhifeng left looking disappointed in his car, if Dr. Ye wasn’t willing to treat him, they’d have to rely on conventional methods and take uric acid-lowering meds on schedule.

But this way, Wang Zhifeng knew his son’s situation would deteriorate.

After Wang Zicheng’s car left, Lin Xiang came over and asked, “What illness does that Wang Zicheng have?”

“AIDS, do you believe it?”

Lin Xiang was so shocked she couldn’t speak, thinking it might be true.
