After giving his instructions, the leading Vampire left directly with his men, leaving behind Valen, who was still bound by the anti-magic chains.
The anti-magic chains were extremely powerful restraints. Those bound by them would gradually fall into a weakened state. Without the key, even a Level 10 warrior would struggle to damage the chains with brute force.
For Mages, the anti-magic chains would dissipate the mana within their bodies; for warriors, the chains would block their physical strength, leaving them only able to exert one-tenth of their full power.
The Skeletal Mage Witherbone, imprisoned in Dawn Plaza, was also bound with these same anti-magic chains.
At present, all of Dawn City’s high-level forces belonged to the Vampires. The military power of the civilian population was very weak, utterly incapable of breaking the strong anti-magic chains.
As for the Security Squad, these soldiers who constantly underwent ideological education were nearly as loyal to Li De and Dawn City as the Vampires themselves.
Thus, as long as the city walls were guarded and outsiders kept out of Dawn City, the city would remain absolutely safe.
This was why Li De could so confidently keep the Undead Mage Witherbone chained in Dawn Plaza and assign the Dwarf to the blacksmith shop.
Once the Vampires left, Golddig became visibly excited.
Seeing Valen, who was about the same height as him and also sported a large beard, he clenched his fist and pounded it firmly against his chest.
"Honorable sir, I am Golddig, of half-Dwarf blood.
My father was once a Dwarf of the Golddig Clan. After the Golddig Clan was destroyed by Demons, he fled to the Human world. After I was born, my father named me Golddig to commemorate the clan that was lost."
Among Dwarves, it was a tradition for the younger Dwarf to introduce his origins in detail when meeting an elder Dwarf.
Hearing this, a trace of joy appeared on Valen’s face. "Child, I didn’t expect you to carry the blood of the Golddig Clan.
If your father truly was of the Golddig Clan, then you must have heard my name."
He paused briefly, and even though he was wrapped in anti-magic chains, his expression was still full of pride.
He pounded his chest heavily.
"Valen Brutehammer." Though bound, his hands and feet were not tied, so his movements were barely hindered.
Golddig froze for a moment upon hearing the name, then revealed an expression of undisguised excitement.
"Master Valen?! It’s you!!"
He quickly stepped forward and gave Valen a strong embrace.
After they parted, Golddig laughed heartily. "Master Valen, my father once apprenticed under you. His name was Angus Golddig. He spoke of you countless times.
He said that among the Dwarves, you were the undisputed master smith, and he was honored to have been your student."
Hearing the name, joy also spread across Valen’s face.
"To think you are Angus’s child! Hahaha, by the God of Forging, to meet the child of Angus is truly a blessing from our ancestors.
If we were in the Brutehammer Clan, I would surely invite you to drink the finest rum."
Puffing his chest out proudly, Golddig said, "Master Valen, the great Lord Kachar once rewarded me with a whole barrel of fine wine. Perhaps tonight we can drink our fill."
At these words, Valen frowned slightly, looking at Golddig with some confusion.
"Child, why do you show such reverence to a cruel and dark Vampire?
You are a child of the Dwarves; you carry the ancient bloodline. No one can make us Dwarves bow our heads. We should not abandon the honor of our ancestors to serve a Vampire."
The once-lively atmosphere instantly froze. Golddig’s smile stiffened on his face.
The other people in the blacksmith shop, who had previously shown respect, now wore expressions of suppressed anger.
This damned fool, how dare he insult the great Lord Kachar like this!
If not for Golddig’s presence, they would have already stepped forward to give this ignorant Dwarf a harsh lesson.
Looking at Valen’s serious expression, Golddig gradually suppressed his earlier excitement from meeting his father’s teacher.
Taking a deep breath, his gaze fixed upon Valen, his tone deep and resolute.
"Master Valen, I hope you will only say such words once in my presence.
Lord Kachar not only gave us new life, but also granted us hope and a future.
Without Lord Kachar, there would be no me, no blacksmith shop, no brothers and companions here, and none of what exists in this place!
In Dawn City, Lord Kachar is someone we would gladly lay down our lives to defend. No one may question Lord Kachar, no one!!
Not even you!! Even though you are a legendary figure among the Dwarves, and a respected elder to me.
Hostility toward Lord Kachar is hostility toward all of Dawn City, it is hostility toward me!!"
Golddig’s words were firm and without the slightest hesitation.
Were it not for the great Lord Kachar, how could they be living such lives?!
Even his little one had been specially recruited into the Mage Tower to study magic, and now someone dared to question Lord Kachar?
Even though the person questioning him was a legendary Dwarf he deeply respected, Golddig still found it unacceptable.
Seeing Golddig and the dozen Humans around him glaring at him with anger, Valen was as shaken as he had been seeing Humans and Vampires peacefully coexisting on the streets.
Lord Kachar? That should be the mysterious Vampire known as Iro.
Valen was well aware of his own high standing among the Dwarves, yet even so, this half-Dwarf before him, bearing Dwarven blood, confronted him with absolute determination over a single statement, all in defense of a Vampire.
This deeply shook Valen.
What kind of power did this mysterious Vampire possess? Not only bringing Humans, Vampires, and even Cyclops together in harmony within this city, but also inspiring such deep respect and reverence from everyone?
Valen had observed carefully: it wasn’t just Golddig whose eyes shone with admiration when speaking of this Vampire. Everyone was like this.
It seemed that the title of Lord Kachar was sacred and untouchable here. No one dared show the slightest disrespect, and this respect came not from force, but from their hearts.
That was the most terrifying part.
Since arriving in Dawn City today, Valen felt his entire worldview rapidly crumbling.
This Vampire-ruled city was far too different. It seemed to possess a strange power that fused different races together regardless of good or evil.
At the same time, his curiosity toward Dawn City surged greatly.
What kind of being was this Vampire called Iro, or rather, Lord Kachar, who was worshipped by all?
What was the true face of this city called Dawn City?
From his initial contempt, Valen had now been drawn into intense curiosity by everything he had witnessed.
The city personally built by Li De once again demonstrated its indescribable charm.
And the residents who lived here, after countless seeds sown by Li De, were now becoming the strongest assistants in assimilating outsiders into the city.
Dawn City was only just beginning.
