Chapter 1795: Chapter 1788: The Teacher Who Wants Your Life
As soon as he said these words, the air around them fell silent. The other party didn’t speak but just stared at Tang Ye with eyes full of resentment. But in a way, it was better this way; as long as the other party didn’t speak, Tang Ye’s feeling of guilt slowly faded.
"Alright, since you’re not speaking, I’ll take it as if you’re not here..."
"I don’t know what you’ve been through. I know very little about your past, and no one ever told me your story. So, I’m sorry, but... if you’re interested, you can tell me. I, oh no, I mean, this zombie here, loves listening to stories. If you’re willing to speak, I’m willing to listen. Do we have a deal?" Tang Ye said as he squatted down, waiting quietly, but the other party’s gaze remained unchanged.
Tang Ye wondered if the other party could understand his words. In the illusion, the other party had no memory of what he had experienced. Just as Tang Ye was about to repeat his words using brainwave communications, suddenly, it laughed, its voice sharp and ear-piercing.
Hee hee hee~
"Hmm?" Tang Ye squinted his eyes in confusion. Soon, the laughter stopped, and the other party began to speak, but the voice was like an electronic synthetic, very rough, very dull, making one feel uneasy.
"You think you’ve done something great?"
"You think you’ve saved a poor child?"
"You think you’re standing on the side of justice?"
"No! You’re not! You’re not at all!"
"You! You killed her!"
"Everything I did was never for myself. I just wanted her to live..."
"Haha... I think I understand, you know nothing about Quanwei. You! You’re an accomplice!"
"Hahahaha..."
The words came out like a roar, mixed with indescribable anger, almost setting Tang Ye ablaze! Finally ending with laughter, the other party grew silent, and Tang Ye also fell quiet.
He indeed knew nothing about what was truly happening with Dairya, but neither side had the right to define who was right or wrong. This was fundamentally a subjective issue. He never felt that what he did was that grand; more of it was about getting out of an unfavorable environment for himself. The other party misunderstood his actions, but it didn’t matter; it was all over. Let Dairya’s past be buried in the past...
Tang Ye pursed his lips. If the other wanted to argue about who was right, he had a hundred justifications.
Therefore, he believed that reasoning was the most meaningless thing. On the matter of right and wrong, people from different angles always had seemingly reasonable arguments.
Before long, Tang Ye spoke: "Perhaps I ought to understand you, but since you claimed that you wanted her to live, have you ever thought that while doing these things for her, more people might die for her?"
"You care about her life and death, just as others care about the lives of someone else. If the person you care about dies, you will feel sad, right? Similarly, if others die, the ones who care about them will feel sad, too. So what I’m doing is to prevent more people from feeling sad for the ones they care about. Now then, would you say I’m on the side of evil or justice?"
Tang Ye’s words seemed to have choked the Nightmare Zombie King. It began to ponder but didn’t understand human society’s intricacies; debating right and wrong was a total dimensional blow for Tang Ye!
It took a while, but the Nightmare Zombie King couldn’t figure out how to refute him, predictably, soon gave up, roaring angrily at Tang Ye: "I only know what I must do. What else does it have to do with me!"
"Huh~" Tang Ye chuckled, growing tired of playing with it. He stood up, raised the blood-flesh blade in his hand, and pointed the shining scarlet blade tip at its head.
"You don’t seem in the mood to tell stories. In that case, I’m sorry. You can do anything, but unfortunately, I care about my domain. Since you chose to intrude, you must be prepared to die!"
"You might not understand what death means, but that’s okay. I can teach you. But before learning about death, I need to teach you how to spell ’teacher’!"
As he spoke, a murderous intent erupted from Tang Ye’s eyes; the blood-flesh blade in his hand started falling! The blood and flesh on the blade were swirling intensely as if it couldn’t wait any longer!
At the same time, the other party began to resist, as it didn’t want to die!
Its mouth suddenly puckered, and both cheeks puffed up; Tang Ye had anticipated a desperate counterattack, so he was prepared. When he saw the series of movements, to be safe, he withdrew his blade and dodged backward!
The outcome was already determined, and at this last moment, he didn’t want to end up with a mutual destruction or grievous injury due to his arrogance!
But just as he paused, Tang Ye froze; he realized he might have been too cautious, as the other wasn’t making a last-ditch assault...
As Tang Ye sidestepped away, the Nightmare Zombie King stood upright like a zombie rising from a coffin! Its mouth appeared to have something trying to come out, the surface skin frantically pulsating, but it tightly clamped its mouth shut, unwilling to open. Not long after, it couldn’t hold back and "wow," spat everything in its mouth. A large amount of dark purple liquid streaked with blood spurted out. If one looked closely, there were some oddly shaped bugs in the liquid, lively when spat on the ground, but ceased moving shortly after contacting the air.
And the Nightmare Zombie King visibly weakened, but it remained unwilling, roaring angrily at the sky. Then its back muscles started to bulge as a bunch of spider legs burst through the flesh, stabbing fiercely into the ground, pulling itself backward!
Tang Ye couldn’t tell what was happening; it seemed to be suffering a backlash from something?
About two minutes later, the Nightmare Zombie King’s body, like a robot, twisted stiffly. In the next second, it jerked upright! Its body began to expand, the previously slender figure swelling quickly into a grotesque mass! To prevent the spider from detaching from its back, it bet its own life. As it started bloating, Tang Ye could sense the situation in its body rapidly worsening!
In less than a minute, it swelled to over twenty meters, becoming a giant mass of flesh!
The crazy proliferation of flesh forced the spider legs trying to escape from its back back in, but at this moment, the other realized there was no escaping the end of death, despite everything!
So, in that split second, it cast one last venomous glance at Tang Ye, and with a "boom," its bloated body exploded violently, chunks of froth-like flesh flying everywhere, almost flooding the old city!
