Chapter 1664: Chapter 1658: It Ate Its Own Kind
"Did I... get rescued by a zombie..." Ghost Head’s thoughts hadn’t completely shifted yet. Anyone who wasn’t stupid could guess what had happened from such a scene, but he was a bit hesitant to believe it, feeling like he was dreaming an endless dream.
"Ghost Head, you stupid fool, standing there like you’re eating shit? Hurry up and run!"
Unlike Ghost Head, the two people hanging on the cliff above had witnessed everything, seeing the moment the Level 4 zombie was about to devour Ghost Head, the silver-armored zombie engulfed in flames forcefully pushed the zombies aside, saving Ghost Head!
The notion of zombies rescuing people was indeed hard to believe, so the two initially thought they were under a spell until Brother Shi snapped out of it first, promptly urging Ghost Head to seize the opportunity to escape!
Upon hearing his voice, Ghost Head managed to stand up painfully from the ground. He felt like he’d lost his backside, and his heart was racing quickly; surrounded by so many zombies was overly stimulating!
Successfully standing, he could only shuffle step by step, unable to strut with large strides; the pace was tormentingly slow. As he moved, he watched the zombies’ movements, and luckily, with the appearance of the flaming silver-armored zombie, the zombies’ attention was drawn away, delighting Ghost Head as he realized none of the zombies were looking at him!
Considering the appearance of the devilishly handsome man earlier, the Sanctuary City’s silver-armored zombies and the Demon Sound zombies seemed to belong to different camps in conflict with each other, the specifics unknown. Presently, the silver-armored zombie ablaze with a fiery aura was confronting the Demon Sound zombies nearby, filled with killing intent, further validating his conjecture.
Opportunities are fleeting; Ghost Head dared not delay a moment, striving to distance himself from the zombie horde, soon hearing the robust zombie roar of the silver-armored zombie behind him, suppressing thousands of Demon Sound zombies with its sheer presence! But the next second, the Demon Sound zombie group retaliated with a frenzied series of roars, and the battle commenced!
In an instant, numerous Demon Sound zombies leapt into the sky, attacking the silver-armored zombie from both ground and air! The scene was spectacular; even Ghost Head, while running, couldn’t help but glance back at the zombie melee!
"Holy shit!" Ghost Head exclaimed in amazement; just as the two sides collided, the silver-armored zombie, with sheer brute force, hurled hundreds of Level 4 zombies over ten meters!
Roar!
The silver-armored zombie’s deep roar stirred a noticeable wave, lifting the dust from the ground and rushing into the zombie tide! The air grew stifling! However, the number of Demon Sound zombies was overwhelming; as the battle began, the silver-armored zombie was soon encircled. They attacked it like a pack of hungry wolves, clinging and swarming over it, claws swinging, mouths agape with a foul stench permeating the air, creating chaos in the scene, and Ghost Head felt abandoned by this world.
What’s wrong with these zombies? Not one was willing to cast a glance at him.
"What an immense grudge."
He murmured, gently shaking his head. In the Apocalypse, numbers don’t decide everything; despite Demon Sound zombies’ impressive numbers, the silver-armored zombie was at least a Level 7 high-level zombie, unperturbed by the assault of so many peers. The terrifying steel teeth couldn’t pierce its silver armor, while the zombie’s sharp claws casually diced several Demon Sound zombies at each swing! The zombie tide’s roars, could be likened to a witch chanting a spell, relentlessly assailed the ears.
Makes it hard to breathe!
As the battle raged, the zombie tide grew increasingly frenzied, more and more Demon Sound zombies appeared from streets and alleys, madly attacking the silver-armored zombie from the opposing faction. The number disparity was extreme; the silver-armored zombie seemed like a tiger in a wolf’s lair, soon covered with numerous peers, while others doggedly charged toward it, leading to a zombie pileup forming a small mountain!
This mountain of Level 4 zombies was indeed impressive but didn’t last long before the silver-armored zombie once again toppled it!
Crash~
Thud!
Thud!
Thud!
Each of its steps sent a deep sound echoing where its iron-like skin touched down. The next moment, the zombie tide formed another small mountain, aiming to crush down upon it, but once again was overturned with tremendous strength. It advanced step by step, leaving giant footprints on the ground!
Dragging its heavy body, it forced its way into the zombie tide, letting those dark-purple zombies bite and claw at it, without mounting a direct attack on them, what it’s doing remained a mystery. After a few more steps, the defiant zombies piled up another small mountain in the tide but this was promptly overturned with chilling force, the zombie tide seemed like a bunch of puny bugs before it!
The few could only describe what they witnessed as sheer terror!
Soon, Ghost Head noticed it seemed to be searching for something; the silver-armored zombie halted, began rotating its head, using its black eyes laced with blood-red pupils to survey the surroundings. When its gaze swept across, Ghost Head’s heart leapt into his throat, relieved that the fearsome silver-armored zombie didn’t linger its gaze on him; promptly turning away.
Thud!
Thud!
It stepped forward again, seemingly finding what it was looking for, nodding its enormous head with a very human gesture; then, it raised its head, roaring towards the Sky!
Roar!
After the roar, Ghost Head finally saw the creature independently extend its hefty arm, grabbing an unfortunate zombie hanging on it, with a gentle exertion of strength, twisted off its head, then tossed it into the bloodthirsty maw vast enough to swallow a truck tire!
The yellowed, black-specked fangs closed; the trio clearly observed the silver-armored zombie’s mouth undulating, constantly emitting "crack-crack" sharp snapping sounds, reminiscent of crunching crisp bones like they’d eaten before the Apocalypse!
It ate its own kind!
