Chapter 179: Impressive!

Chapter 179: Impressive!

[Ok Another Planet.]

Sunny sat on the battleship’s wing, his gaze fixed on the system screen, its holographic glow illuminating his face. Below, Ellen sat, eyes closed in concentration, her body still as she stabilized her power. Twenty miles away, the giant, the python, and ten Mercenaries stood guard.

Sunny scrolled through the system’s new notifications, starting with his new skills and titles.

{Wings of Judgment: Grants the master four wings, increasing speed by 100,000. Lasts as long as the master has spirit energy. God Rank.}

{Title: Grim Reaper: Gained by killing 1 billion life forms. Ability: Increases all Mercenaries’ stats by 100,000.}

’This title. What if I don’t have any Mercenaries?’ he wondered, a wry smile on his lips.

{Ability will be locked.}

’Why don’t you just say it would be useless?’ he thought, a hint of playful sarcasm in his mind.

{"..."}

He navigated to his new armor. ’Show me the boosts this armor can give,’ he commanded.

{Name: All-Changer}

{Star: 10 Stars [MAX].}

{Rank: God Rank.}

{Strength: +2,000,000.}

{Agility: +1,000,000.}

{Stamina: +1,500,000.}

{Defense: +2,000,000.}

{Attack: +3,000,000.}

{Celestial Energy: +5,000,000.}

{Magic Resistance: +100,000.}

{Extra skill: 50% deduction in all magical and physical damage taken.}

’Impressive boosts,’ he admitted, his thoughts turning to the massive amount of experience he’d gained:

’With ten billion EXP, there’s no way I won’t reach god rank soon. But the energy it will release... Ellen can’t be close.’

He let out a long sigh and summoned the glowing golden card—the Unsealing Card. An emblem of a key adorned both sides, its surface humming with ancient power.

’This thing can unlock any of my bloodlines, even Ellen’s and Jinx’s.’

’System... what are the chances I’ll get this again?’ he asked, his voice low.

{Chances: 0.0001%.}

’So low?’ he thought, surprised.

’Even a moron would know how valuable this card is. If I had six of them, I could unlock all my bloodlines.’

He glanced down at Ellen again, a deep affection swelling in his chest: ’I should wait. Unlocking any bloodline right now would unleash another wave of energy that might hurt her. I also can’t send her back; that would hurt her even more. One more day, and we’ll return. Then I can use all this EXP and unlock more bloodlines.’

He jumped down from the wing, turning his attention to the distance, to the second Wendigo outpost.

’What if I destroy this planet too?’ He clenched his fists and then shook his head.

’No... Last time, I used 90% of my spirit energy. I don’t have that much at the moment.’ He chuckled, a new idea forming in his head.

"I will just have to conquer this planet and place it under Eldoria."

Ellen’s eyes fluttered open at the sound of his voice.

"Are you done?" he asked, a warm smile on his face.

"I stabilized 70% of my energy," she replied, her own smile bright.

"Impressive! When we get back, I’ll get you lots of things," he said, reaching out to ruffle her hair.

"No need, Dad. All the money you gave me is still untouched. Besides, I don’t want anything. I just want to help you more," she said, her expression earnest.

He pulled her into a hug. "You already have."

WHOOSH!!!

BAM!!!

Sunny and Ellen turned to see a Mercenary crumble into dust. A young man with three eyes, clearly from the Three-Eyed Nation, stood some meters from where it had been.

"Hahaha! I got it! That battleship will be ours! We can finally leave this—" The man’s words died in his throat as he looked up and saw the towering giant and the nine other Mercenaries staring at him.

"What the butt?" he muttered, a look of pure terror on his face. He turned and ran without a moment’s hesitation, screaming:

"Help!!"

"....?!"

Sunny and Ellen blinked, stunned by his cowardice.

"Who is that?" Ellen asked, bewildered.

"I don’t know..." Sunny said, his smile fading. He released Ellen and walked toward the spot where his Mercenary had been.

"He’s weak, but he has a weapon or skill that can destroy my Mercenary in one strike." He looked up at the direction the man had taken, seeing him disappear into a forest.

"Another forest?" Ellen grumbled.

"Haha... You spent three days in the forest; you should be familiar with it now," Sunny said with a laugh.

"Yes, but that forest isn’t something original," she pointed out, her voice serious. "I can’t see through it. It’s like something is blocking my view."

"Oh, something your god eyes can’t see through... This is getting interesting." Sunny’s lips curved into a grin. He moved his index finger in a circle, and the Mercenaries shot forward, their silent charge a stark contrast to the young man’s panicked retreat.

"Should I go?" Ellen asked, ready to follow.

"No... conserve your strength; you might need it," Sunny replied, stopping her. "Come and stand close to me."

Ellen nodded, rushing to his side, her small form standing next to his. They watched as the Mercenaries approached the forest.

BEEEP!!

A piercing alarm tore through the air and the ground exploded in a series of blasts as hidden mines detonated.

BOOOOOOOM!!!

"That wasn’t the thing that killed my Mercenary... Using explosives is useless," Sunny said, folding his arms across his chest. Ellen mimicked his posture, her gaze fixed on the unfolding scene.

True to his words, the Mercenaries were unharmed. They continued their charge until they collided with an invisible force.

"Huh? So the forest is just an illusion. The barrier is the thing creating the illusion... Impressive. Destroy the barrier." Sunny ordered.

The Mercenaries, getting the order, drew out the swords, hanging on their waists, and smashed it down on the barrier.

BAM!!

The impact sent them flying back ten feet.

"So durable... a barrier that can withstand the strength of nine divine-rank warriors’ attacks... truly impressive," Sunny said, a glint of respect in his eyes. He took a step, and with Ellen at his side, they disappeared, reappearing before the barrier and the Mercenaries.

"Let’s see the secrets you’re hiding."

He waved his hand, and the barrier tore apart like paper, revealing what lay behind it.

"Huh?"

Sunny and Ellen stared, their expressions a mixture of shock and utter disbelief.
