Chapter 60 The Hearts of People
In the rain, a huge lightning bolt struck, startling everyone.
Although everyone heard Jia Wenjun's words, no one believed her.
"Jia Wenjun, you still dare to lie; even the heavens can't stand it anymore. Let's go, quickly. We need to be careful that we don't get struck by lightning when she does." Hao Jiening said, both angry and scared in the wind and rain, tightly grabbing her son's arm, wanting to go back.
She originally didn't want to come out of the cabin, but she was afraid that everyone would leave, and she and her child would be alone in the dark room. If something happened, no one would be there to help, so she could only bite the bullet and follow.
Now, seeing that Jia Wenjun had not only killed Zhao Di but had also successively taken down Lü Maowang and Anna, she was terrified.
Thinking of Jia Wenjun's previous friendly appearance, she never expected her to be a cruel and heartless psychopath. Hao Jiening was frightened and unconsciously leaned closer to Hu Sixiang.
Lili, being pulled by Teacher Lin, wasn't doing much better. Thinking that Jia Wenjun had even attacked the captain, Anna, she was both shocked and scared.
Considering that she had previously been at odds with Jia Wenjun and that she was the one who exposed her murder video, would Jia Wenjun's next target be her?
Originally, there were thirteen people on the boat, but now, excluding the murderer Jia Wenjun, there were only nine left. Among them were the useless injured Gong Dalong and a bear child who only knew how to eat.
Sun Jiaojiao, that thieving woman, certainly wouldn't come out. Of the remaining people, Teacher Lin and Grandpa Wang were both elderly and probably couldn't do much. The only ones who could really do anything were Baima Shan, Hu Sixiang and his wife, plus herself.
Thinking of this, Lili couldn't help but shiver.
Jia Wenjun was someone who could take down both Lü Maowang and Anna at once. At this rate, could the four of them last two nights?
Their original plan was to leave on Saturday morning and return on Sunday afternoon. Now it was already Sunday night, and their boat hadn't returned to port. Their families must already know that they were missing.
She believed that the family members of the people on the boat had definitely reported it to the police, but the weather was terrible now, and she didn't know when the rescue team would be able to find them and come to rescue them.
Seeing the storm at sea, Lili was distraught. She wished she could directly use something to block the hole in the deck so that Jia Wenjun could never come out again.
"We have to pull the two injured people up," the old man said with a solemn face.
"She has a knife in her hand. Who dares to go down? I think we should quickly seal this hole so she can't come out again!" Lili was really afraid of this "crazy" Jia Wenjun.
The old man disagreed. "If we seal the hole, those two people still have a breath of life left. If we ignore them, wouldn't we be directly killing them?"
"They might already be dead. If we go down now, we'll just be throwing our lives away," Hao Jiening said.
Nao Nao looked down from the hole and tugged at Hao Jiening, saying, "Mom, the teacher said we can't stand by and watch people die."
Hao Jiening slapped the bear child. "Shut up. If you're so capable, let your teacher come and save them!"
Nao Nao was crying from the beating, and it was impossible to tell whether the water on his face was rain or tears.
While everyone was chattering around the hole, Jia Wenjun, exhausted and without any strength, sat down on the carpet. She didn't expect things to be so coincidental. No one saw Anna go crazy and try to kill her, but everyone saw her fighting back.
She knew that no matter what she said now, the people above wouldn't listen or believe her.
She looked at Anna, who had passed out on the ground, and Lü Maowang, who had been stabbed twice, and thought that if Lü Maowang could survive, he could help prove her innocence.
Her voice hoarse, she shouted upwards, "Get a rope."
Baima Shan knew what she wanted to do. He was about to turn around and throw the life-saving rope by the boat down when Hu Sixiang stopped him. "We can't give it to her. What if she climbs out along the rope?"
"She wants to tie up the people below and have us pull them up."
"How do you know? What if she just wants to come out herself?" Lili also sided with Hu Sixiang.
Baima Shan was a little impatient. "We're the ones pulling the rope. If she comes up on her own, we can just let go. Besides, even without a rope, she can climb up by stepping on things below."
"Xiao Bai is right," Grandpa Wang said. "If you're afraid, step back. I'll lower the rope with Xiao Bai."
Lili and Hu Sixiang exchanged a look and retreated at the same time.
Baima Shan and the old man lowered the rope. They saw that Teacher Lin, who had always been timid, hadn't left and was also pulling on the rope from behind.
The rope was thrown down. Jia Wenjun turned on Lü Maowang's phone light and tied the two ropes to the leather belt and rope that were tied to Lü Maowang's hands and feet, and carefully checked the wounds on his back.
The two stabs were both on the right side and were quite deep. Fortunately, it was a fruit knife, but even that couldn't withstand Anna's madness and brute force. If it had been stabbed on the left side, it could have pierced the heart.
Although it wasn't a fatal blow, he had lost a lot of blood. If the bleeding couldn't be stopped in time, whether he could survive until rescue arrived would depend on fate.
Jia Wenjun hoped that Lü Maowang could survive because he was the only one who could prove her innocence. That's why she tried her best to help lift him up so that Baima Shan and the others could stop the bleeding as soon as possible.
After tying him up, the three people above pulled hard, but Lü Maowang wasn't light, and it was extremely difficult for them to pull him up.
Baima Shan had a lot of opinions about Hu Sixiang and his wife and Lili standing by and watching. He said to them with a dark face that if they didn't help, he wouldn't help them when they were in trouble.
Among the remaining people, Baima Shan could be considered a decisive and strong person. Hu Sixiang naturally didn't want to offend him, so he could only bite the bullet and come over to help.
When Lili and Hao Jiening saw this, they had no choice but to help pull the rope.
Everyone exerted their strength in the rain, and Lü Maowang was finally pulled up.
The phone light shone on him, and seeing that he was covered in blood, Teacher Lin screamed and retreated.
Baima Shan untied the rope and threw it down again, telling Jia Wenjun to tie up Anna.
Binding was also a strenuous task, and Jia Wenjun was panting. After Anna was also pulled out, they didn't throw the rope down again.
"Can you give me some water to drink?" Jia Wenjun shouted to Baima Shan above. She was really thirsty.
"We don't have any water to drink. You're a criminal, and you want to drink water? Keep dreaming!" Hu Sixiang cursed, his intestines almost turning green with regret. If he hadn't insisted on putting half of the food and water in each of the two rooms, Sun Jiaojiao wouldn't have been able to monopolize half of the food and water.
But then he thought, if he hadn't split it, maybe all the food and water would have been in room seven, and then they wouldn't even have had a drop of water or a piece of biscuit.
In the end, it was all Sun Jiaojiao's fault. No, it was all the murderer Jia Wenjun's fault. If she hadn't been so black-hearted, none of this crap would have happened.
