"Tch..." Watanabe walked out of Feng Bujue's sight again, standing in some corner behind, and soon the sound of him lighting another cigarette could be heard.

Watanabe took a breath and said to Feng Bujue, "What do you want to ask?"

"You're here to determine whether Hirata is really mentally deranged?" Feng Bujue asked.

"That was filmed with the police's assistance, a recreation of some relevant scenes," Watanabe replied.

"Did you show it to me in reverse chronological order?" Feng Bujue asked.

Watanabe was taken aback. "Yes, that makes it easier to awaken your..."

Before he could finish, Feng Bujue interrupted, "Could you show it to me again in chronological order?"

Watanabe exchanged glances with Tachibana, the latter was furious and didn't want to speak, just nodding slightly.

Watanabe walked to the table, operated it a few times, and the projector started running again.

"Doctor, can you take off this tape so I can blink?" Feng Bujue said.

"Okay," Watanabe readily agreed. He hadn't recommended doing that in the first place, but before, Hirata Hideichi would scream and shout in shock and tightly shut his eyes whenever he saw the images on the wall, so Inspector Tachibana made things the way they were.

Feng Bujue had already sorted out some clues in his mind, and now he needed more to corroborate his reasoning.

The video started playing, the images were black and white, and there were no speakers or anything next to the projector. Besides the clicking sounds, there were no other sounds, and of course, no sound was needed.

The content of the video was simple, and the length was actually quite short, just recreating a few key scenes to help the insane Hirata Hideichi recall what happened. The actors were all people from the police station, and it was filmed by Doctor Watanabe.

The first part of the video, the first scene, was inside Hirata's company. Feng Bujue nodded as he watched attentively. The second part started quickly, which was also the most crucial part.

The camera first filmed a panoramic view of a Western-style house, showing the address on the doorplate, 6-5, Rokubancho (Sixth Avenue). In front of the Western-style house was a garden. The second scene was the inside of the Western-style house, the spacious foyer, and a staircase leading to the second floor. The place where the third scene took place was the room where Feng Bujue saw the monster. The plot recorded in this third set of shots was: a police officer playing Hirata, holding a fake gun, pushed open the door and walked into the room, and a female police officer playing Chiko (Zhizi), lying on the bed. Another person played the department head. When he saw the person with the gun come in, he panicked and got up from the bed, saying something while going around the bed, trying to snatch the gun. Then the actor playing Hirata in the camera pretended to shoot him to death.

"This is the general course of events, since there were no eyewitnesses..." Watanabe turned to look at Feng Bujue again, "and Hirata-kun's testimony cannot be accepted, so we can only infer the general course of events based on the on-site investigation."

"By the way, what's the name of the deceased?" Feng Bujue asked.

"Fukui Shinichirō," Inspector Tachibana's low, hoarse voice came from behind, "He was your immediate boss at your company."

The video quickly went to the third part, which showed the person playing Hirata asking a passerby for directions.

The next shot in the video showed a longhouse, and the person playing Hirata walked in and closed the door. The next shot was of a police officer bending over to knock on the door.

Watanabe then said, "The old woman next door heard Hirata shouting at night, so she went over to knock on the door to ask what was wrong, but Hirata replied that he hadn't shouted." He paused. The video ended there, and the room fell into a brief silence.

Inspector Tachibana, still standing behind, broke the deadlock, "So, Mr. F, are you satisfied now? Quickly tell us Yamada's whereabouts, and confess your guilt obediently." He said impatiently, "Or... are you going to pretend to have amnesia again, and then claim to be Mr. A or Mr. B?"
