Chapter 334 South Park Arc (2)

Chapter 1 Running Away

Feng Bujue sprinted down the mountain. After running for more than a minute, he could no longer hear the gunshots behind him. He then canceled the Ling Shi Ju Shen Shu (Spirit Gathering Technique). At this point, his survival value was still at 62%, which was relatively safe.

South Park was a typical American country town. There were no towering buildings, no traffic jams, and no bad air quality.

However, although small, it had all the necessary facilities. The town had a church, a municipal building, a post office, a school, a shopping center, and so on.

As soon as Feng Bujue entered the town, a system prompt sounded:

[Current quest completed, main quest updated]

As the previous quest was checked off, a new quest appeared: [Search the town and prepare for the "Great Disaster" before it begins.]

"Heh... prepare..." Feng Bujue sneered. To be honest, he really didn't know how to prepare, because the content of that "Great Disaster" was just too ridiculous.

"I guess I should get some heavy weapons first..." Feng Bujue thought for a while and decided to go rob the gun store.

South Park only had one gun store, and it was run by Jimbo and Ned. These two were good friends who had fought together in the Vietnam War. They were both bachelors and ran the gun store together. The two often went hunting in the mountains and even made a television show about hunting. I know what you're thinking now: Hey, they must have had some soap-dropping moments during their time in the military...

But probably not...

Feng Bujue asked a passerby for directions in a very normal and polite tone, and the other person very normally told him where the gun store was located.

More than five minutes later, Feng Bujue arrived in front of the shop facing the street.

It was a one-story building with brown brick walls and a roof that covered a slightly wider area than the walls. The front of the building had no windows. In the center was a double-leaf glass sliding door. Both leaves of the door had a metal frame and frosted glass design. The words jimBosguns were written in white paint on each leaf. Above the door was a large black sign with yellow letters, also reading the same words.

To the left of the door was a billboard, also in a black-and-yellow style. Under the words "Jimbo's Guns" were the words "Buy, Sell, Trade, and Ship"; to the right of the door was a wooden ammunition cylinder and a large wooden wagon wheel, common in Western movies, presumably as decorations.

When Feng Bujue arrived at the door of the store, the sign hanging on the glass door read "CLose." After Jue Ge tried the door and found it locked, he took out a pipe wrench, smashed the glass, and reached inside to open the lock.

The reason he dared to do this was simple, because he knew... Jimbo and Ned were not in the store at this time. If he wasn't sure of this, he wouldn't have dared to break in.

Forcing entry didn't trigger any alarms or anything like that, which was also expected by Feng Bujue (the reason for which you will soon understand).

Jue Ge pushed the door open and entered. Inside the gun store, on the walls to the left and right of the main entrance, hung a rabbit's head and a rabbit's tail, respectively, the kind that hadn't even been washed clean of blood.

Under the rabbit's head, there was a yellow warning sign with a black pistol pattern and the words in red: "Ammunition is not cheap, so we don't fire warning shots."

Under the rabbit's tail, there was a white warning sign with a yellow circular smiley face and the words in black: "Please unload your guns, and take off your ski masks. Thank you!"

If the implications of these two signs are not obvious enough to you, then let's continue...

Around the store were many neatly arranged cabinets, containing various models of firearms, mostly rifles, as well as some ski jackets commonly used for hunting in the mountains. Feng Bujue didn't stand on ceremony, and casually took a dark blue-green jacket from the wall and put it on.

Walking to the counter, he could see three layers of various models of handguns in the waist-high glass cabinet.

On the shelf behind the counter, in addition to a box of cartridges, there was a row of display firearms from top to bottom, namely a G3 automatic rifle (without attachments), a SPAS-12 shotgun (without attachments), an M40A3 sniper rifle, an M733 Commando submachine gun (grenade attachment), and a classic Colt M1873 revolver.

The position and height of this row of guns were right behind the cash register, which meant that... within easy reach of the salesperson (i.e., Jimbo), he could turn around and grab one.

Next to this row of guns, in the most conspicuous place high on the wall, were two more warning signs.

The top white sign had the words "Trespassers will be shot on sight. If we don't kill you, we'll shoot you again" in black and red.

The bottom black sign had a logo of a white pistol and the words "We are protected by the Second Amendment" in white and red.

Turning to look to the right of the counter, there was a lattice window, and on the wall next to the window was nailed a headless dead snake, its body still bleeding. There was also a pair of severed rabbit ears nailed to a disc...

Below the pair of ears was another warning sign, this one in orange, with black and red lettering: "Criminals! Can you run 850 feet per second? If not, you better have a bulletproof head."

Looking to the left of the counter, a map of the United States was hanging on the wall, but the map was not marked with place names, but only with green markers, indicating the areas where the "Stand Your Ground" law (i.e., you can legally shoot intruders on your own territory) was in effect. A total of four states encouraged civilians to shoot; and the laws of nine other states did not recommend shooting people, and these nine places were marked with red crosses...

Next to the map, there was a side door with a sign that read "Ned Only", and next to the sign were two lines of slogans: "We don't bother calling the police" and "Beware of the owner."

Feng Bujue felt like he was sitting on pins and needles while stealing things in this store. On average, every five seconds he had to look up and observe each entrance to prevent those two domineering gun-crazy people from returning to the store and opening fire without saying a word.

Fortunately, this situation did not happen...

Although the characters in South Park can do very heaven-defying things in some moments (such as eating with their butts and excreting with their mouths), in most cases, their combat power is no different from normal humans. Therefore, Jimbo and Ned could not possibly have rushed back to the gun store in such a short period of time.

Five minutes later, Feng Bujue had packed several heavy weapons into his backpack, and stuffed handguns and a pile of ammunition into various pieces of clothing. Then he quickly left the place to avoid any further complications.

Since he didn't get the 40% extra experience bonus in the last settlement, Feng Bujue was a little tempted when he saw the 80% reward for this script. He put the idea of "using a summoning skill once and then dying is fine" behind him and began to focus on completing the script.

At this moment, Feng Bujue simply didn't have the time to summon Musashi Koganai and study the abilities of this summoned creature. Because once that "Great Disaster" descended, the threat of death would be everywhere, like a shadow.

Jue Ge was that kind of person, he would go forward if there were no difficulties, and he would go forward even more if there were difficulties. Complaining about the inhumane difficulty of the game while enjoying the process of conquering it was his consistent style.

His next stop was the hospital.

After obtaining sufficient weapons and ammunition, the second type of supplies to be obtained was definitely medical supplies. Even rich players who didn't lack money wouldn't leave the ready-made resources in the script unused, let alone Feng Bujue.

Before leaving Jimbo's gun store, Feng Bujue casually grabbed a map of the town from a shelf near the door, quickly confirmed the address of the hospital, and then set off.

In order to avoid unnecessary trouble, he didn't consider stealing a car or hitchhiking (there were very few taxis in South Park), but walked the entire way. Anyway, the town wasn't big, so he would arrive by walking. The large firearms were hidden in his backpack, and from the outside, Feng Bujue didn't look very suspicious.

The streets of this town were relatively empty, and running wildly on the street would be too conspicuous, so Feng Bujue just walked quickly. After walking for a while, something suddenly caught his attention...

It was the exterior of an electronics store facing the street. Many televisions were placed in the window facing the street, and at this moment the televisions were broadcasting "major" news.

In the news footage, a large group of heavily armed American soldiers emerged from military helicopters and armored vehicles to forcibly arrest Peruvian panpipe bands in various places.

What was laughable was that after the "people" were arrested, the boxes, instruments, CDs, etc. left by the bands on the street were actually collected by a group of soldiers wearing full isolation suits with metal clips. It was as if the items that these panpipe bands had come into contact with contained biochemical viruses.

Feng Bujue moved closer to the window to listen, and could still hear the sound in the footage.

"The government's operation to resolve the Peruvian panpipe band crisis has entered its third day. Panpipe bands in major cities around the world have been dismissed and quarantined, but there are still some that have slipped through the net. The Department of Homeland Security requires..."

As the news anchor said these words, several sets of "arrest" footage were interspersed on the screen. When he said "requires," the screen also displayed subtitles: [If you see a Peruvian panpipe band, do not approach] [Record their whereabouts and report them to the authorities] [Under no circumstances should you buy their CDs]

"The panpipe bands have now been brought under control and are being escorted to the quarantine area in Miami..."

Seeing this, Feng Bujue left the window and said, "It's already the afternoon of the third day... The disaster will break out globally before sunset, I have to hurry..."

Ten minutes later, he followed the town's main street and arrived at South Park's only hospital—heLLspAss hospitAL.

"No matter how many times I see the name of this hospital, I want to complain..." Feng Bujue said, looking up at the hospital gate, and then walked in.
