Chapter 161: Chapter 161: The Second Male Lead Appears (4)
The paper bag in her hand followed a parabolic trajectory and fell into the holly bushes beside them.
"Are you okay?"
Camden River supported her as she almost fell, glancing down to ask, and looked slightly startled when he saw her face.
Earlier that morning, he had a drink spilled on him by Windsor Myres, all because of the girl standing before him.
She wore a light cyan long dress made of cotton and linen, covered by a white three-quarter sleeve cardigan, one hand shading her forehead as she quietly walked in the sunlight.
She looked fresh and serene, as the seniors on both sides, wearing ID badges, chatted away cheerfully.
He couldn’t help but take another look.
If not, he would surely have avoided the drink accidentally spilled by Windsor Myres.
"I’m fine." Mia Ginger frowned slightly, not lifting her head, and raised her hand to brush off his hand from her arm, heading straight towards the flower garden by the roadside.
Camden River naturally followed.
The shopping bag had landed on the lawn beyond the holly bush.
"You stay put, I’ll go over and pick it up."
There was no entrance in this part of the garden below the dormitory building. As Mia Ginger was wearing a dress, it wasn’t convenient for her to climb over, so Camden River simply spoke up, not waiting for her response, and stepped over from a sparse area of the holly.
Inside, there seemed to be two bottles of ointment, fortunately not broken.
He breathed a sigh of relief and handed the bag back to Mia Ginger.
"Thank you." Mia Ginger finally noticed him, paused for a moment, and curved her lips into a smile to express her gratitude.
"It’s nothing." Camden River glanced at the paper bag, "Luckily, nothing was broken."
As soon as he finished speaking, his gaze fell on Mia Ginger’s bare arm, he took a closer look and was a bit stunned again.
Mia Ginger happened to be standing under a streetlamp, and there were a few finger marks on her arm, exactly where he had hurriedly grabbed her earlier.
Is this girl made of porcelain?
Just a touch and she got hurt, did he really use that much force?
Mia Ginger naturally sensed his gaze, recalling that the main blame lay on her for not watching where she was going, and said nonchalantly, "It’s fine. I just have more delicate skin than most people."
"Really?" Camden River pondered, still feeling apologetic but not knowing what to say further.
Applying ointment, it seemed, was overreacting to such a small thing.
After a while, he could only apologize, "I’m sorry."
"It’s really nothing, don’t take it to heart." Mia Ginger smiled casually, "I’ll be on my way then."
"Mm."
Camden River watched her leave.
——
Mia Ginger went straight back to the dormitory.
As she opened the door, the sound of sobbing reached her ears.
Grassy was sitting on a chair, crying.
Mina Lee, who was comforting her, glanced at Mia, sighed with relief, and said helplessly, "This girl didn’t even eat dinner, she’s just been sitting here crying. Please try to console her, I can’t manage it anymore, sigh."
"What’s the use of crying?" Wren King, already on her bed, poked her head out and said, "There are plenty of fish in the sea, why cling to one flower? Just for one tree, you want to give up the whole forest? Crying and weeping like this only wrongs yourself!"
"I’ve liked him for four whole years."
"Four years?" Wren King was taken aback.
"You’re a love saint, aren’t you," Wren King said peevishly, "But didn’t you say? You two are just ordinary classmates. He’s good-looking and smart, it’s normal for him to be picky about a girlfriend, and it’s understandable he doesn’t fancy you. Given our situation, don’t set your sights too high and exhaust yourself over it."
"Hey, how can you say that?" Mina Lee was drinking water, and carelessly choked a bit, immediately winking at her.
