Chapter 285: Chapter 291 Hero Saves Beauty (5)
"Who?"
"Mia," Caiden Ward teased, "the daughter of Mayor Ginger. Don’t tell me you’ve forgotten."
Of course, he knew it was Mia Ginger.
He was just surprised at how close Mia and Caiden Ward had become.
Koa Jackson switched the phone to his other hand.
Caiden Ward continued, animated, "You probably didn’t know this, but that girl is quite a famous martial arts novelist. She’s having a book signing event at one of our company malls today. Just happened to meet her, so I invited her for lunch."
"Where is she?" Koa Jackson frowned and asked.
"She went to the restroom." Caiden Ward continued, "I noticed this girl is getting prettier by the day, so I thought I’d give you a call. If you’re not interested in her, I’m thinking of pursuing her... "
Before Caiden Ward could finish, Koa Jackson suddenly said, "Try pursuing her!"
"I’m pursuing..."
Caiden Ward was taken aback for a moment and asked, "Hey, cousin, what do you mean by that?"
There was a two-second silence on the phone before Koa Jackson said in a deep voice, "She’s mine."
"But wasn’t the engagement called off?" Caiden Ward laughed it off.
"Caiden Ward," Koa Jackson called him by full name.
Caiden Ward felt a jolt in his heart and then heard him say in a calm tone, "We’re now dating, and that girl is mine."
"Dating?!" Caiden Ward almost stood up.
Bob Ginger, who was sitting diagonally opposite, almost stood up too.
"Yes, dating." Koa Jackson glanced at his watch and instructed, "I need to head home first, so I won’t be coming over. Once you finish lunch, send her home immediately."
"Hey!"
Koa Jackson had already hung up the phone.
Caiden Ward was quite upset, and when he looked up, he met Bob Ginger’s wide-eyed gaze.
"Brother Ward, were you calling Brother Jackson?" Bob Ginger asked.
"Isn’t it obvious?" Caiden Ward shrugged, suddenly realizing he didn’t know either, then laughed and raised his eyebrows, "You heard right, your sister is dating him."
"..." Bob Ginger was stunned and couldn’t speak for a long while.
Caiden Ward, holding his phone in one hand, kept tapping it against the other, still finding it amusing, glanced at George Davis, and said with a smile, "Hey, I have to say, Mia is quite something. Quietly managed to take down my cousin!"
George Davis chuckled, "I have to say this seems like destiny. Young Master Jackson and Miss Ginger are a perfect match."
"You’re not wrong."
Caiden Ward was laughing as he saw Mia approaching.
He cleared his throat softly and sat upright.
The waiter served the dishes.
Mia had just taken a couple of bites when Caiden Ward suddenly said, "Mia, do you have feelings for my cousin, Koa Jackson?"
"Huh?" Mia looked at him, momentarily stunned.
She asked curiously, "Why is Brother Ward asking this?"
"No particular reason," Caiden Ward said with a smile, "just that lately, he seems to be going on a lot of blind dates. I saw you, and it just popped into my mind to ask."
"Blind dates?" Mia’s face slightly changed, and she stopped her chopsticks.
Sitting beside her, Bob Ginger had just taken a sip of soup and almost choked, coughing violently.
"Yeah. Mostly set up by my mom, his aunt. No idea if any worked out. You know, he’s already twenty-eight, still that laid-back manner, hard not to be worried."
"Oh." Mia was evidently unsettled.
