Chapter 301: Chapter 307 Betrayed by Everyone (2)
Before long—
Nanny Adams led Zuri Ginger downstairs.
Zuri Ginger had not actually slept; she was waiting anxiously, without any news of success. How could she possibly sleep?
She could hear Aiden Jiang speaking harshly downstairs from where she was upstairs.
Just as she was puzzled and worried, Nanny Adams came up.
She said Dr. Jackson had arrived, and the gentleman requested her to come downstairs.
In the middle of the night, what business could Koa Jackson have with her?
Zuri Ginger was utterly surprised.
Her heart was filled with worry and confusion, mixed with a subtle expectation and hope, wondering if Old Master Jackson was not doing well, and Koa Jackson suddenly thought of her, wanting to marry her immediately to make Old Master Jackson smile in his grave?
With such worry, surprise, and anticipation, she descended the stairs.
At first glance, she saw Koa Jackson.
He was dressed smartly in a white shirt and trousers, his long legs crossed as he sat on the sofa in the living room, taking a sip of tea.
His demeanor was exceedingly elegant, yet distant and cold, creating a sense of alienation.
It made people unconsciously hold their breath, not daring to disturb him.
While she was staring at him in a daze, Koa Jackson looked up.
They locked eyes.
He remained silent, steadfastly scrutinizing her.
The hall was very quiet, the atmosphere stagnant, as if something truly inexpressible had happened.
Zuri Ginger’s hand at her side clenched slightly. Looking at Koa Jackson, she involuntarily stepped forward two steps, revealing an anxious and slightly embarrassed smile, softly saying, "Dr. Jackson, coming to see me so late, is something the matter?"
"Certainly."
Koa Jackson flung a cup of tea directly at her.
His movements were so swift that Zuri Ginger didn’t have time to step back, and the warm tea splashed onto her face.
Her expression suddenly changed.
With shock on her face, she screamed, looking at Koa Jackson, accusingly and aggrievedly saying, "What are you doing?!"
"What am I doing?!"
Koa Jackson slammed the tea cup down heavily.
The delicate and thin porcelain teacup collided with the hard marble tabletop, shattering instantly at his fingertips, shards flying, reflecting his cold and stern face, terrifying in its chill, instilling fear from the core.
Zuri Ginger instinctively stumbled back two steps.
A sudden voice came from behind, "Brother Jackson."
Mia Ginger went to clean up in the bathroom, and just as she came out, she heard that voice, utterly startled.
Taking a few more steps, she saw that Koa Jackson’s finger was bleeding.
Instinctively calling out, not waiting for Koa Jackson to speak, she quickly turned to find the medicine box beside the cabinet.
Charlotte Chester had never seen such an uproar.
Aiden Jiang was gentle by nature, and even at his most furious, he would at most raise his voice sternly.
Koa Jackson’s fury, though, was like a thunderstorm.
It nearly scared her silly.
Charlotte Chester placed a hand on her chest, urgently signaling to Sage to clean up the shattered porcelain pieces.
Sage nodded and quickly went to find tweezers and a cloth.
Returning quickly, half-kneeling on the carpet, carefully picking out the shards of porcelain.
Mia Ginger and Koa Jackson sat on the other side.
Koa Jackson had two cuts on his finger, bleeding, and Mia Ginger, seeing this, was both anxious and distressed.
She dabbed some iodine on a cotton swab, gently wiping the blood clean, carefully applying a band-aid to each of his wounds, still feeling uncomfortable, softly said, "I’m perfectly fine, nothing happened, Brother Jackson, please don’t be so angry, alright?"
With these words spoken, Zuri Ginger understood everything.
Koa Jackson somehow found out about her attempt to harm Mia Ginger, and in the middle of the night, he came to stand up for Mia Ginger.
