Chapter 317: Chapter 315 It Has Always Been Me [5 Updates]
Sister Taylor looked at Liam Spencer with a surprised expression, gently pushed Maya Spencer aside, and strode over to Liam, raising her arm and delivering a slap across his face.
In an instant, Liam was stunned by the slap. He never imagined that a mere servant like Sister Taylor would dare to lay a hand on him.
When he was about to explode in anger, clenching his fists tightly and glaring at Sister Taylor, he caught sight of Maya’s fear towards him. At that moment, all his anger dissipated, and he simply lifted his right hand to push Sister Taylor aside, taking Maya’s small hand and heading upstairs.
Seeing this, Sister Taylor quickly caught up, swiftly pulled Maya’s hand, placing her behind herself, and stared intently at Liam, saying, "Young Master, I don’t know what happened between you and Miss, nor do I know who’s right or wrong, but I can tell you clearly, you are not welcome in this home, and Miss doesn’t need you, Young Master, please leave."
Today, Sister Taylor was willing to go all out for Maya, even though she knew offending Liam wouldn’t end well, she couldn’t care less.
She couldn’t bear to see Maya, who had been perfectly fine, return after just three months and become like this.
Before coming back to the country, she had advised Aron not to force Maya back into her old thoughts and life, suggesting she remain abroad, but Aron insisted that Maya’s life was in S City.
It turned out that S City was nothing but a nightmare for Maya; she should never have returned.
Liam looked at Sister Taylor’s protection of Maya, finding it difficult to get angry at her, as she was ultimately trying to protect Maya.
But he wouldn’t easily let Maya go, especially when she needed a sense of security and protection. He certainly wouldn’t let her go.
So, he once again brought Maya back to his side, saying, "Sister Taylor, I don’t know what Maya experienced in these three years, nor do I know if she’s sick, but no matter how she’s changed, I must have Maya. From now on, I won’t leave her anymore. And I will also find out why she’s become like this."
"Why? Fine! I hope you won’t regret knowing later." Sister Taylor sneered.
The more Liam liked Maya, the more balanced she felt inside. Only this way, when he discovers the truth later, he will suffer intensely. Only his suffering can compensate for the pain Maya has gone through.
Liam looked at the middle-aged woman in front of him, observing her eager eyes waiting to see him make a fool of himself. He didn’t pursue Maya’s condition with her but instead led Maya upstairs.
In the bedroom, Liam looked at Maya, who seemed soulless, sitting motionless on the big bed, and quickly bent down, gently stroking her little face, smiling as he said, "Maya, we’ve come home."
Looking at the man’s face, Maya suddenly drew her legs back onto the bed, backing away a few steps, avoiding him.
The man looked at her fear and repulsion towards him, swallowed a mouthful of saliva, removed his shoes, climbed onto the bed, and knelt beside her, saying, "Maya, from now on, Big Brother won’t bully you anymore, Big Brother will protect you, okay?"
Listening to the man’s words, Maya turned her head, glanced at him, and then immediately shuffled her bottom a bit to the side, keeping her distance from him.
In her subconscious, Liam had already become a dangerous presence, and she must keep her distance from him, especially when she’s mentally disoriented, she increasingly wants to hide from him, because at this moment, she lacks any rational reason to reason with him or act. Her only reaction is to stay as far away from him as possible.
Liam watched as the girl continued to avoid him, feeling very uncomfortable inside, and to stabilize her emotions, he didn’t approach her anymore but allowed her to sit aside and regain her composure.
As time passed by, Maya unavoidably felt sleepy, sitting on the bed crookedly.
Seeing this, Liam quietly moved closer to her, tapped her forehead, and said, "If you’re sleepy, then sleep."
The man’s fingers gently tapped, and Maya slowly closed her eyes and fell asleep.
Afraid of waking her, Liam stayed back until he confirmed she was sound asleep, carefully approaching her, moved the hair off her face, and took off the outer jacket of her pajamas.
He quietly guarded her side, until her brows were no longer furrowed, Liam carefully climbed out of bed, went to the study, dialed Elijah Reed’s number, and instructed: "Elijah, issue orders to all hospitals. Anyone who dares to perform an abortion on Maya, should be ready for the hospital to be leveled."
"Miss Spencer is pregnant? Congratulations, BOSS." Elijah expressed surprise and quickly congratulated.
Liam was in a bad mood, so he didn’t say much to Elijah before hanging up and returning to the bedroom, lying by Maya’s side, guarding her as she slept.
After the last miscarriage incident, Liam was terrified of Maya. He feared that once she regained consciousness, she would quietly take the child away again, so he acted proactively.
On the big bed, he watched the sleeping girl, took a deep breath, raised his right hand, gently stroked her face, then leaned down and planted a kiss on her cheek, asking, "Maya, what exactly have you gone through these years? Why have you become like this?"
But Maya was deeply asleep and didn’t give him any response.
The next morning, when Maya woke from her slumber, she found that she had returned to the villa.
She took a deep breath, bit her lower lip, and tried hard to recall the events of yesterday.
She remembered running into Lillian Morris in the restaurant yesterday, remembered Liam asking her for a massage, then trying to have a relationship with her, but she didn’t agree. She also told him about the pregnancy, and then they had a fight. All she knew was that she cried hard, kept begging him, and seemed to have knelt down.
She furrowed her brow, unable to untangle last night’s thoughts, but what she was certain of was that she had a seizure last night, though it wasn’t the headache.
Thinking about this, she took a deep breath, thinking to herself that her crazed appearance must have frightened Liam out of his wits, and surely he dared not keep her by his side, which is why he sent her back to the villa.
As Maya was lost in these thoughts, the bedroom’s sliding door suddenly opened, and a familiar voice asked, "Maya, did you sleep well last night?"
Hearing the man’s voice, Maya suddenly sat up from the bed, staring straight at him, only to see Liam wearing light casual clothes, smiling warmly at her, approaching step by step.
Seeing Liam, Maya swallowed hard, quickly scooted her bottom a few steps backwards, avoiding him.
Although Maya was still avoiding Liam today, her eyes were noticeably sharper and more spirited than the previous night; she was no longer the sickly Maya.
Faced with Maya’s avoidance, Liam didn’t get angry but just smiled and asked, "What does Maya want for breakfast?"
Confused by the man’s inexplicable smile and kindness, Maya took a deep breath, furrowed her brow, and scrutinized him.
She concluded that Liam was being good to her because he had assumed the child was his, so she stared at Liam and said seriously, "Liam, the child isn’t yours."
Listening to her reminder, the man didn’t get angry but smiled and said, "Maya, the child is mine. The man in the hotel was always me."
