Chapter 269 Strange Corridor

Chapter 1 A Narrow, Dark Passage

The passage was dark, narrow, and long; there was no telling where the darkness might lead.

I walked in front, with Fatty and the other four following closely behind.

The green light followed our steps, lighting up wherever we went.

After walking for about seven or eight minutes, I looked back to see only blackness. The entrance of the passage we came through was no longer visible.

Fatty, who was behind me, started to grumble again.

"This is the middle of nowhere. When will it end? This green light is like a ghost movie; it's really terrifying."

With an uncertain future and Fatty constantly chattering, I was getting annoyed, so I interrupted him, "Fatty, I wasn't that scared before, but now you've made me uneasy. Why don't you lead the way?"

When Fatty heard that I wanted him to walk in front, he was unwilling. He quickly grabbed Jennifer's hand, put on a distressed expression, and said with a smile, "Don't do this, my young master. This heroic act must be left to you. I have family watching me, so I can't do anything risky."

"Tch, then shut up and stop blabbering. You're distracting me, and I won't notice any danger!"

After saying that, I glared at Fatty impatiently, and he wisely shut his mouth.

"Okay, I'll shut up. You lead the way, you lead the way."

The green light in the passage flickered. Although it looked strange, there were no other signs of danger besides the light, so we continued to walk along the passage.

After walking for about fifteen or sixteen minutes, we finally arrived near the exit at the other end of the passage.

I saw a light in the distance ahead, which led me to believe that the light source outside the passage entrance was constant. This meant that once we left the passage, we would be in the inner area of the Immortal Mountain.

"Let's go quickly, the exit of the passage is ahead."

I quickened my pace, taking three steps as two, and with a small sprint, I rushed out of the dark passage.

Coming out of the passage, we arrived in a relatively spacious hall. The green light was constant around the hall, and the brightness was much stronger than in the passage, allowing us to see everything around us more clearly.

However, the next second, my judgment of "hall" changed somewhat.

At first glance, it did look like a hall, but on closer inspection, it was not really a hall, but more like a spacious corridor.

On the left and right sides of the corridor were stone walls, on which were hung "green lamps." The "green lamps" were unevenly arranged from near to far, and the angle and area illuminated by each lamp were different. However, the area illuminated by these "green lamps" together was enough to light up the entire area.

Therefore, it was this strange arrangement that created a visual illusion, leading me to believe that we were now in a nearly square hall.

But in reality, we were in a rectangular corridor, and the actual length of the long side of the rectangle could not be calculated due to the visual illusion.

Just as I was observing the "green lamps" on the stone walls on both sides of the corridor, Fatty suddenly exclaimed, "Damn, look at the top of our heads, that's..."

I was a little annoyed by Fatty's overreaction and wanted him to be quiet for a while.

I turned to look at Fatty—Fatty was staring blankly at the ceiling of the corridor with his head raised.

Following Fatty's gaze, I turned my head and said with displeasure, "Fatty, can't you just..." My words suddenly stopped there.

Although the light in the space was very weak, I could clearly see that the situation a few meters above our heads was somewhat abnormal.

There seemed to be some kind of orange-red liquid churning on the ceiling of the corridor.

I immediately became uneasy. I guessed that Fatty might know something, so I asked, "Fatty, do you know what this is?"

Fatty stared at the orange-red liquid attached to the ceiling without blinking and gestured for me to be quiet.

At the same time, Rui, Jennifer, and Dodge were also attracted by the orange-red liquid on the ceiling.

"Are you guys bewitched?" I muttered softly.

However, they did not answer me. For a moment, I even thought their souls had been taken away by this unknown orange-red liquid.

At this moment, a huge creature suddenly rushed out of the orange-red liquid on the ceiling, stayed outside the orange-red liquid for less than a second, and then quickly drilled back into the liquid.

The huge creature just now seemed to be a fish. Judging from its size, it was more like a huge shark. Liquid floating in the air and attaching to the ceiling was already against the laws of physics, but there was actually a fish in this liquid, and the fish could move freely and shuttle freely between the liquid and the air. This directly refreshed my understanding.

At this time, Rui seemed to have thought of something. She suddenly asked, "What colors make up orange-red?"
