Chapter 3435: Preparing and Training
Rui and Amare got into a routine over the next ten days.
Rui would spend much of the morning preparing for the battle with the War Coalition and with the Dragon Emperor. Not only would he use the Forge of Creation to create techniques that could help him in his battle with the Dragon Emperor, but he also needed to plot out a way to reach Kiriket Continent without being detected.
He also needed to figure out how to earn Lord Vakratunda’s aid in the matter, for it was impossible to pull off what Rui was trying to pull off without him. He also pondered exactly how he ought to consume the Dragon Emperor in order to enhance his own Authority of Alpha.
His digestive system did not consume information and assimilate it into his body. That meant that he needed to figure out a technique that allowed him to do just that. It was something that he could have consulted Ieyasu, if the man hadn’t betrayed the Kandrian Empire and even human civilization.
Amare’s stunning jump to candidacy also made him think about what he was missing when it came to becoming a candidate himself. It wasn’t something that had bothered him before, since the other two candidates remaining prior, the Boundless Light and the Reverend of Reckoning, were not good candidates for comparison.
Then again, neither was Amare.
Regardless, he tried contemplating what it would take for him to become a Transcendent Candidate. Perhaps he needed to simply continue discovering adaptive evolution where he didn’t think it existed. Perhaps there was some other condition that eluded his understanding at the moment. It was a shame that Amare was unable to discreetly identify a general condition that he would need to fulfill in order to become a Candidate.
Just like Transcendents were unable to give distinct universal conditions for how one needed to become a Martial Transcendent.
It was truly frustrating that there was nothing for him to truly bite into and deduce what he needed to do; he just had to go with his instincts and intuition.
He had tried using the Eye of Prophecy to deduce how soon he could reach the Transcendent Candidacy, but annoyingly enough, it didn’t yield anything useful; just blurry, unintelligible visions that didn’t mean anything important.
It meant that the future of his progression was such an enormous magnitude of information that not even his Eye of Prophecy was enough to peer into the future. He was forced to resign and use it for the matter regarding Kiriket.
Much of the rest of the day went to retconning Amare’s memories to insert high principles into her mind and muscle memory. It was rather stunning just how much more powerful she was growing with each passing day, allowing her to harness forces and mechanisms of the universe itself.
He itched to fight her, but alas, it would draw too much attention, and they didn’t have time for it at the moment. Still, arming her with high principles was one of the best things that he could do for her in the upcoming battle.
These two matters consumed their entire day due to needing to recover from their Realm after-effects. Rui especialy pushed himself to the limit trying to create antithetical fighting style dedicated against the Dragon Emperor and training Amare, sleeping like a bag of rocks whenever he had the opportunity to rest.
And just like that, ten days passed as the two of them completed their preparations for what was to come.
More time would always be better, of course. But they didn’t have the time needed to do more thorough preparations. Rui didn’t want to waste more time, considering that each day, the war for the resources in the Panama Continent drew closer. He needed to deal with the Kiriket Question sooner rather than later, especially when traveling to Kiriket was going to be quite problematic in and of itself.
Rui had prepared a stealth technique that would minimize their presence in the prying eyes of the Dragon Emperor, who was undoubtedly attempting to keep track of their move with his powerful vision.
He couldn’t allow the dragon to know when they were reaching Kiriket, lest they walk right into an ambush. He purposefully designed it to be a Senior-level technique so that it would last longer, using his pluripotent exotic matter to mimic an esoteric substance that made them harder to notice.
By limiting it to the Martial Heart, he could avoid having to use his Martial Mind and Soul, which would require extensive rest to recover from. With the Blood of Solaris, he would be able to keep the technique active for a very long time.
Of course, a Senior-level technique was nothing compared to the Dragon Emperor, but that was only relevant if they were in front of him. Considering how wide his senses had to be spread for him to search everywhere that Rui and Amare could possibly be, he would not be able to locate them despite the weak technique because of the distance and how diluted his senses were.
By the end of ten days, he had made enough preparations.
They were set to depart on the eleventh day.
CLASP
He tightened the strip of his bagpack, one he had purchased in the Hlakaschken Trade Empire, before straightening the belt of his Martial Attire, heaving a deep breath. He had rested for an entire day after his preparations, ensuring that he had enough strength to continuously evade the Dragon Emperor’s gaze.
The complexion of his face had grown better with the rest, while his pitch-black eyes were beaming with energy, illuminated by the bright light of the morning Sun in the Hlakaschken skies.
"Ready...?" he turned around, gazing at Amare, who quickly donned her little bag. She nodded at him with a serious expression.
Over the past ten days, the boost to her power was visible.
Her presence had grown more solid, weighing down on the world.
Her amber eyes sparkled with determination, eager to test her newfound power more thoroughly.
