Chapter 3444: The Royal Hybrid
It was public information by now that Rui’s Angel of Laplace and the Eye of Prophecy allowed him to see both future and past. His extraordinary depth of perception into the mind meant that it was impossible to lie to him if he truly sought the truth. He was not bound by any force on the continent and could execute whoever he wanted without any consequence. It was impossible to mobilize a movement of men against him, since half of all men worshipped him in some capacity or another as God himself.
Thus, if he promised protection and retribution, it was absolute.
There was no way to escape his power.
That powerful deterrence allowed blood children like Arastia to continue living their lives without any hint of fear or active danger in their lives. As long as Rui was alive and well, there was nothing that could be done against them, and their blood was destined to merge with that of human civilization to become a single species, turning the species into one of female supremacy or at least some form of matriarchy.
"This is not ideal..." Emperor Rael’s golden eyes sharpened. "Egalitarianism will die in such a civilization."
He was not fond of the idea of living in a female supremacist civilization, either. Not just because it was a threat to his own power, but because it was not good for the survival or the prosperity of human civilization to have such uneven dynamics.
However, there was nothing that could be done about it. He couldn’t edit the species, and even if he could, he wasn’t sure he would want to. Even if he didn’t like it, he still understood what his priorities were and that gaining more power was more important than gaining it equitably.
"This menstrual power boost will likely save human civilization when the time comes," Emperor Rael remarked. "I cannot afford to let it slip just because it is not ideal. I cannot afford to snuff this leap in evolution."
He was the only one who had the power to do so. With the amount of political power he had, not even Rui would be able to undermine his decision, especially when he was outside the continent.
And yet, he chose to keep the blood children anyway for the sake of human civilization’s survival and prosperity. The Evolutionary Army was undergoing a drastic leap in evolution, and human civilization would likely need to undergo one as well if it had any hope of surviving in the long run.
He immediately commenced a program to help the blood girls through puberty effectively. This was a crucial phase in their development that would determine their life trajectory; he needed to make sure that they were properly socialized and integrated into human civilization.
He also added some gender equality conditioning to their program to minimize the impact the power imbalance would have on the future of human civilization.
KNOCK KNOCK
The Emperor of Harmony glanced at the door with a knowing expression. "Come in."
CLACK
The door opened as Mother Alicia emerged through. She had donned a single-piece gown woven from the finest fabric in the Kandrian Empire, loosely fitting over her body as it draped over her large, round belly.
Her silver hair had grown longer in the past year, reaching her waist, while her skin had changed, growing more supple and soft. Her hand rested on her large belly gently as she smiled at Emperor Rael.
"Alicia..." Emperor Rael closed the report on his commpad as he got up, walking towards her slowly with an affectionate smile on his face.
He hadn’t intended to invest any emotions in his relationship with the Mother of Nature, but couldn’t help but develop emotions for her in the year that they had been together. She was sincere about any relationship she pursued, showering him with genuine affection and intimacy.
Elves did not do political marriages. Dark elves in particular were too socially inclined to find the practice acceptable. Thus, when Mother Alicia agreed to form a bond with him, she was entirely serious.
Of course, Emperor Rael did not like the fact that he was compromised; he even had Sayfeel keep a close eye on his emotions and report how much they changed when he was working on important stuff to adjust his mindset to ensure that he wasn’t compromised by this relationship.
He hadn’t expected to grow this emotionally invested, given how many times he had done this, but his partner was a woman who was even more experienced than he was, proving to be able to pry open even his absolute control over himself. He had placed many other checks and balances to make sure that he didn’t allow this relationship to derail what he ought to be like and what he ought to do.
Still, there was only so much that those could do, of course.
It was a chance he was willing to take.
STEP
He reached her as she wrapped her arms around him, smiling at him as he reached down to gently kiss her, before crouching down on one knee to reach her belly.
"Nine months have already passed."
"I think this baby will remain within me for two more months like an elven baby," she remarked. "Scans already show that he has half-elven ears, although there aren’t particularly any distinguishing human traits that elves don’t share."
"...The first human-elven hybrid child," Emperor Rael murmured.
With elven influence upon human civilization, along with the human genome mixed with hemosapien genome, he couldn’t help but wonder what the plight of men in the future was going to be. He just hoped that the homo martialus gene remained dominant enough to ensure that it never became too excessive. Given that they were the majority, he could hope that it held up just enough to ensure that there was some reasonable balance of power.
Regardless, it was better than the entire species being wiped out by the evolved evosapiens of the next generation.
