Chapter 569
Anton assigned the five summoned Ravens as guardians so that any dungeon monster that came near anyone would be killed by the fierce birds immediately. After that, everyone started moving forward in the cavern ahead with Anton’s summons leading them.
The first monster they stumbled upon was a group of powerful hobgoblins. The hobgoblins had several large vampire bats as pets. All in all, there were around eight hobgoblins and eight large vampire bats. His summons immediately charged ahead to decimate the dungeon monsters.
The ten wolves and clay golem slammed into the hobgoblins while Anton’s Shadow Master and Valkyrie engaged the Vampire Bats. The Shadow Master was using a thrown weapon to hit the bats while the Valkyrie was using a very powerful bow. Their skills amazed everyone in the group, even Anton’s father.
Anton was using his Fanaticism Aura to make sure that all of his summons were buffed, but of course, he secretly added his father and his sister to his party system so they, too, were affected by the powerful aura.
Anton was amused to see that everyone in the group was tense. He knew that everyone still did not truly believe that his summons were enough to engage the high-level monsters, since they could see that the dungeon monster for even just the 1st level of the Corridors of Amuneta dungeon was extraordinarily strong and intelligent, and was using strategy against the summons.
Even those Vampire Bats that tried to disengage from the Shadow Master and the Valkyrie and headed directly to the people in the group, but they were immediately decimated by the Ravens.
After a few minutes, Anton was amused to see that his summons left a single hobgoblin and a single Vampire Bat as he commanded them to do earlier. Supreme Munetta then commanded her students to attack the Vampire Bat with all the spells they could muster while Anton directly engaged the Hobgoblin in a fight.
Anton watched his sister and her classmates cast their offensive spells towards the Vampire Bats. He was a little shocked to see how minimal the damage was that the bat was receiving from the girls’ spells.
Anton saw that Anders and his two vice-captains were sporting shocked expressions as well because when they finally saw Anders fighting with a single hobgoblin, they learned that Anders and the dungeon monster were almost equal in power.
It took 20 minutes before Anton’s father finally defeated a single hobgoblin, and Anders looked exhausted. Anton immediately provided mana water for his father to drink to refresh himself and immediately activated the Vigor Aura to make sure that his father’s stamina was full.
It took Anna and her classmates a full hour before they finally killed the single Vampire Bats that were allocated to them, and the girls admitted that they had exhausted their spells.
Their struggle to defeat a single dungeon monster from just the 1st level of the high-level dungeon brought home the realization that the monsters in high-level dungeons were too powerful and not something they could engage in alone, possibly not for a very long time.
Anton was amused to see them also realizing how powerful Anton’s summons were, who defeated the group of hobgoblins and vampire bats in a few minutes.
“How much more powerful are the monsters on the 30th floor?” Anna asked Anton absently.
“My summons could kill a group of monsters there in just a few minutes as well. This time, they took longer because they had to make sure not to kill all of the monsters and leave a couple of them for you,” Anton replied.
“Mr. Sunder, what would happen if you don’t use your summons?” Supreme Munetta asked.
“If we’re talking about these monsters, I could kill them faster than my summons. I only allowed my summons to become the main fighters when I knew that the monsters were easy to kill. Against the deeper floors like the 60th
floor, I’m the main attacker,” Anton shrugged.“Can we see you kill the next group of monsters?” Supreme Munetta asked, and Anton just nodded his agreement.
Anton’s Valkyrie gathered the three medium-level mana stones that appeared after the corpses of the dungeon monsters disappeared, and then gave the stones to him. The Shadow Master then informed Anton of the chest that was located behind a stalagmite. After the shadow master opened it, Anders was the one who examined the contents of the treasure chest and was surprised at the amount and quality of the magic items inside. Considering it was only the 1st level, the rewards amazed everyone.
Anton just sighed and knew that his father and his two vice-captains would be in for a rude awakening regarding the rewards they would receive once they delved into the Beginner Dungeon by themselves.
The next group of monsters that they encountered after moving forward for several minutes were giant spiders. There were around ten of them, and the area where the spiders made their home was filled with spiderwebs. Anton didn’t waste any time and immediately cast his Frozen Orb spell toward the giant spiders. The spell caused the spiders to be severely slowed down, as well as damaging them greatly. Then he cast several Hydras in the area, making sure that every spider was burnt to a crisp and even their spiderwebs were decimated by the Hydra’s fire. It only took Anton a couple of minutes to annihilate the ten giant spiders.
“Are you really just an archmage?” Supreme Munetta asked.
“Yes. I just recently measured my rank using the rank stone. Please remember that I specialized in combat; that’s why it was easy for me to kill the monsters.”
Anders and Anna looked especially proud regarding Anton’s overwhelming power. Everyone in the group now understood why Anton managed to earn enough wealth to afford the Rose Manor in such a short amount of time.
During the next group of monsters that they encountered in the cavern, all of them were handled by Anton’s summons, with them leaving a couple of monsters for the Anders and the Supreme Wizards’ students to practice the combat spells.
Fortunately, the students only had to do combat a couple of times because they kept exhausting their spells every battle and it would take several hours for them to replenish their spells again, so during those times that Anna and her classmates couldn’t engage the dungeon monsters, Anton summons would only leave a single monster for Anders to practice his combat on.
The good thing about that practice was, Anders was extremely brave and was taking risky or even foolish actions, which caused his two vice-captains to become extremely impressed. Anton even had to heal his father a couple of times and had to admonish Anders quietly.
“Sorry about that, Son. Since I know you’re here, I know that I was safe and any damage could be healed by you immediately, that’s why I was careless. I know it’s a bad habit to form, so I’ll make sure to take care of my actions carefully for the next battles.
At around nine in the evening, the Supreme Wizards decided to rest for the night. By then, Anton saw from the portal key monster indicator that the total monsters they had killed so far weren’t even ten percent of the total monsters on the floor. That meant that if the group truly wanted to clear the 1st level, it would take them a long time to do so.
