Wa Yu Tang Xia
Chapter 224 ︽⊙_⊙︽
Snow White clutched the pants in her hand, looking in the direction where Lynn had disappeared, a blank expression on her face. How, how could he just vanish?
Snapping out of it, Snow White immediately got out of bed and began searching, but she scoured the entire secret room without finding the older brother.
Returning to the bed, she looked at the pants in her hand, tilted her head, and then put them on. The pants instantly adjusted to fit perfectly, which delighted Snow White. She admired herself in the magic mirror, moving around, before finally going to sleep contentedly.
...
Back at the small villa, Lynn took a pair of pants from his backpack and put them on, ready to enjoy his month-long vacation.
Since it was only just getting dark, Lynn washed up and went straight to bed.
The next morning, Lynn took his homemade fishing rod and went out, planning to go fishing. Thankfully, when he had chosen this place, he had made sure there was a river nearby, which was why he had bought the small villa here.
Carrying his fishing rod, bucket, and chair, Lynn arrived at the riverbank. The river was quite wide. He put down the chair and bucket, created some bait, and began to fish.
After casting the line, Lynn waited patiently.
...
Snow White crawled out of the secret passage, looking down at the pants she was wearing. Her normally snow-white face darkened slightly, and what angered her the most was that she couldn't take them off.
She couldn't possibly let the maids see her like this. There was no choice but to put on her clothes herself.
To be honest, it was quite difficult to put on these clothes alone. She had only managed to put on half of them when the maids entered. Snow White simply let them help her, since she had already put on the skirt and they wouldn't be able to see the pants anyway.
Once she was dressed, Snow White headed to the dining room as usual.
Walking down the corridor, Snow White felt a sense of security she had never experienced before while wearing the pants. Hmm, she wondered where her main personality had gotten them. They certainly weren't ordinary.
Soon, she arrived at the dining room. Seeing the King, Queen, and Prince already seated, Snow White slowly walked over and sat down.
Looking at the red fruit on her plate, Snow White felt a sense of resistance. She didn't know why, but every time she ate it, she sensed a metallic, bloody taste.
Oh, right, Snow White seemed to remember something. Seeing that everyone was focused on eating, she secretly slipped two of the red fruits into her pants pocket and then pretended to eat.
After finishing, Snow White excused herself from the King and Queen and walked out of the castle.
...
Lynn deftly unhooked the fish and placed it in the bucket. Looking at the two or three fish in the bucket, he was surprised at how abundant the fish in the river were. The fish in the bucket were all quite large.
Five fish were enough. Lynn started packing up and headed back to the small villa.
Back at the small villa, Lynn started preparing to grill the fish. He set up the grill, lit the charcoal, gutted the fish, cleaned them, and then started grilling.
He rummaged through his backpack for some grilling ingredients, and then officially began grilling.
As he sprinkled various seasonings, the aroma immediately burst forth. He wasn't good at mixing drinks, but when it came to cooking, Lynn could confidently say that none of the food he made was unappetizing.
Humming a song as he grilled the fish, Lynn's life was carefree, especially with no one around to cause trouble.
Looking at the uninvited guest before him, Lynn put the almost-cooked fish on a low flame to grill slowly, then asked the person, "What brings you here, sir?"
Hearing the question, Shi Jingtian was jolted awake from the aroma of the grilled fish. He looked at Lynn, clasped his fist, and replied, "My name is Shi Jingtian. Please forgive my intrusion."
"Lynn."
Looking at the simpleton before him, with the way he was staring at the grilled fish, it was obvious what he wanted. Well, although he could eat it all himself, wasn't good food meant to be shared to make it even more delicious?
Lynn directly invited him, "Brother Shi Jingtian, if you don't mind, would you like to join me for a meal?"
Shi Jingtian immediately replied, "I don't mind at all! Then I won't stand on ceremony."
They laid out all the grilled food. As Lynn was considering whether to get some alcohol – after all, barbecue and beer were the perfect match –
Looking at the spread of food before him, Shi Jingtian was practically drooling. But barbecue wasn't complete without alcohol! He opened his backpack, took out his chilled liquor, and placed it on the table.
Shi Jingtian said, "Brother Lynn, come on, you provide the barbecue, and I'll provide the liquor. Let's drink!"
He finished speaking, picked up a bottle of liquor, and started drinking straight from the bottle.
Lynn also grabbed a bottle of liquor and started drinking, then began to eat the grilled fish.
They drank and ate barbecue, and soon, all the barbecue and beer on the table were gone.
The two, full and satisfied, sat back in their chairs and sighed contentedly.
Lynn lay back in his chair, looked at Shi Jingtian, who was also lying back in his chair, and asked, "Brother Jingtian, now can you tell me why you were looking for me?"
Shi Jingtian chuckled. "To be honest, Brother Lynn, I do have some business with you."
Lynn said, "Alright, tell me about it."
After receiving Lynn's reply, Shi Jingtian began to explain.
...
That's the gist of it.
After listening, Lynn paused for a moment, then said to Shi Jingtian with some regret, "Brother Jingtian, it's not that I don't want to help you, but my mission is different from yours. I don't have Cinderella or the Frog Prince here."
"So, you're wasting your time looking for me. The only one we have in common is the Ugly Duckling, and I can tell you about that."
Then Lynn told him that the Ugly Duckling had been eaten by the Prince.
After receiving a system notification, Shi Jingtian bid farewell to Lynn. He had to find other clues himself, but unfortunately, he was just a roughneck. *sigh* How pitiful.
Watching Shi Jingtian leave, Lynn began to clean up, then went back to get some sleep.
...
Looking at the plantation that had been reduced to ashes, the King roared in anger, "Who?! Who dared to destroy my Sacred Fruit Garden?!"
"Aaaaaaaahhhhhhhh!!!"
The King's roar echoed throughout the secret room.
After roaring, the King calmed down and turned the mechanism, arriving at Snow White's secret room. He walked to the magic mirror.
The King asked in a cold voice, "Magic Mirror, Magic Mirror, please tell me who destroyed my Sacred Fruit Garden?"
The magic mirror began to change, and then the scene of Lynn destroying the garden appeared in the magic mirror.
