Chapter 64 Errand

Chapter 1 Pei Shi Yu's Reply

Pei Shi Yu replied very quickly, which surprised me. However, the message she sent was unpleasant: "Acting cheap? Once bitten, twice shy?"

If she hadn't mentioned it, I wouldn't have thought about it, except when I looked at my face in the mirror while washing up every day. It was heartbreaking.

"I'm talking about chatting, not about you scolding me," I thought and replied.

"Do you think we're on the same path?"

"Chatting has to be divided into sects? Don't you get tired of living like that?"

"Tired! That's why the righteous don't communicate with the heretics. Don't bother me."

I originally just wanted to test if she had blocked me. I can't stand this humiliation...

"Heretic, my ass!" I immediately cut off all possibility.

I threw my phone directly on the coffee table, feeling relieved. The cigarette in my hand was still lit. I took a hard puff and extinguished it.

At this moment, my WeChat had a voice call notification from Pei Shi Yu...

"What?" I answered with an impolite tone.

"Who are you cursing?"

"Who started it?" I asked her back.

"Do you call that cursing?"

Pei Shi Yu wouldn't let go of this topic. Her tone was a bit aggressive. I suddenly felt like my circuits had blown. I just clumsily said, "I didn't originally want to chat with you. I just couldn't figure out if I had been blocked."

"You really should be blocked, but I forgot about it."

At this time, I heard a lot of noise on her side. A man was asking, "Put it here?"

Pei Shi Yu: "Just put it anywhere. I'm going to rearrange it later anyway."

After a while, she remembered that she was still on the phone and casually asked, "Nothing, hanging up."

"I haven't even used up a few kuai yet!" I retorted while her tone was still okay.

"I don't have time to talk nonsense with you."

"What are you doing? It sounds like there's a man at your place." I asked curiously.

"Is that any of your business?"

I could already tell that she was getting angry again, so I smoothed things over: "Sounds like movers. Did you buy damaged furniture? Do you need help? Free of charge."

Before Pei Shi Yu could answer, I heard Xiao Long crying and saying, "I'm so hungry. You don't even give me food."

Then Pei Shi Yu ended the call without saying a word to me. It shows how annoying a free person can be.

I straightened my suit and started walking downstairs. It was lunchtime already, no wonder Xiao Long said he was hungry.

I was tired of the fast food near the apartment. Today was the same as last night, with a continuous drizzle. I didn't bring an umbrella, just quickened my pace and walked across the street. I was wondering what to eat when Pei Shi Yu, as if she had snapped, called again and asked, "Are you very free?"

"Need help?" I asked her with the same tone.

"If you're free, take care of Xiao Long for a while."

"Now?"

"He hasn't eaten breakfast and is crying now. I can't leave." She explained patiently, which was rare.

"Don't you know how to order takeout for him?"

"Never ordered it before."

"What does Xiao Long like to eat? I'll bring it over now."

"He likes KFC the most. Just buy something."

"What about you?"

"I'm not very hungry right now."

I walked back and drove the car out so I wouldn't waste time going back and forth. The rainy weather actually saved me time. I ran to the parking space.

I couldn't tell if I was really too free, or if seeing Pei Shi Yu made me feel so good. I didn't have the mind to think about it.

I drove to KFC and ordered a family bucket directly. Anyway, I hadn't eaten either, saving time and effort.

I drove very fast on the road, like I had chicken blood. The tires slipped in the rain, and I almost crashed into a telephone pole. Fortunately, my driving skills were excellent, and I controlled the steering wheel.

As soon as I got out of the elevator, I saw large cardboard boxes wrapped tightly in the corridor. I squeezed to the door and saw Xiao Long was still crying, squatting next to Pei Shi Yu, tugging at her clothes.

I gently called out, "Xiao Long."

Then I showed the KFC I was holding. I saw his eyes light up and he quickly came to me and said, "I'm so hungry."

I smiled, touched his head, and walked into the house. The house was a mess. I couldn't even find a place to sit.

Pei Shi Yu didn't look at me right away, as if it was expected. She tidied the things on the ground by herself until I walked closer to her. Then she looked up at what I was holding and said lightly, "Eat in the dining room. Xiao Long can't drink cola."

"I want to drink," Xiao Long protested, licking his lips.

"It's up to you whether you drink it or not," Pei Shi Yu said threateningly.

The child was very funny. He wanted to drink but didn't dare disobey Pei Shi Yu. He asked imploringly, "Can I drink a little?"

"Mm."

Pei Shi Yu moved her lips, considering it an agreement. Xiao Long took my hand and walked into the dining room.

This was the second time I'd been here, but the first time in the dining room. The decoration was very clean, but the table was covered with a thin layer of dirt. It seemed like they didn't usually eat at home. I took out a tissue and wiped two corners.

I pulled out a chair and sat down. Xiao Long first chose a large chicken leg, pointing at the cola, indicating to help him pour it.

I raised my eyebrows, pointed outside, and said, "You can only drink a little."

As soon as I finished speaking, Pei Shi Yu immediately appeared in front of us, as if she was here to inspect. Seeing that I hadn't poured it yet, she did it herself, pouring a little bit for Xiao Long, literally drop by drop. Then she took out a can of milk and put it in front of the child, without another word, and turned to leave.

I suddenly felt that Xiao Long was very miserable, staying with someone who was both uninteresting and so rigorous. Even the child's innocence had been worn away.

"Why didn't you eat breakfast?"

"Auntie said she would take me out, and then she didn't."

If I guessed correctly, the furniture must have arrived, so it delayed meal time. I picked up a chicken nugget and asked loudly before putting it in my mouth: "Pei Shi Yu, do you want some?"

"You guys eat."

The child's eyes were bigger than his stomach. He seemed very hungry, but he didn't eat much. He didn't even finish two chicken legs, and he burped like an adult, but his eyes were still staring at the cola in my cup.

I very cooperatively pushed it in front of him. He didn't stand on ceremony and immediately took a big gulp. I understood this feeling too well. Eating fried chicken must be better with cola.

When he wanted to take a second sip, I took the cup back in time. Cola really isn't suitable for young children.

"Aren't you eating anymore?"

"I can't eat without cola."

His answer made me laugh. Then I took out a corn on the cob and gave it to him: "Eat this. It goes well with milk."

He reluctantly took it. I hadn't eaten breakfast either, so I basically ate everything. In the end, only two large chicken nuggets were left in the bucket. I deliberately burped like Xiao Long.
