Chapter 1 We Rested Late That Day

We rested pretty late that day. When I came out of the bathroom, Pei Shi Yu was still organizing some clothes.

I stood beside her, drying my hair with a towel, and said, "It's late, let's go to sleep."

"I'm putting away your clothes. From now on, take them from these cabinets."

"Okay, got it."

I went to the balcony. It was very quiet outside. I checked the time; it was almost eleven thirty. Occasionally, cars sped past, seemingly wanting to leave a mark on the quiet night.

Pei Shi Yu had already changed the bedsheets, replacing them with a pink six-piece set that looked very princess-like. I lifted the covers and immediately slipped inside, beckoning to Pei Shi Yu and saying, "Hurry up and sleep, or you won't be able to get up tomorrow."

"I'm full of energy right now."

I yawned, my eyes fixed on Pei Shi Yu. Her hair was still half-dry, and a black camisole nightgown looked particularly charming. A strand of hair fell across her chest, and she immediately tucked it behind her ear.

Until she got up and saw the look in my eyes, as if she had just realized I was there. Then she slowly walked to the bed, habitually stretched, turned off the light, and asked, "Is your grandfather's health okay?"

"He seemed quite energetic, not as bad as Lin Hai said."

"Why did you think of visiting him today?"

"I just wanted to go. He even said he would take you with him next time."

"Lin Hai deserves the credit. He's probably been saying good things about me to him recently, the opposite of before."

"Can we see the house today?"

"How many people will be living there?" I asked quite carefully, because I didn't like renting to a large, mixed group of people.

"Just two girls. If you haven't rented it out yet, let us see the house today."

"The pictures I posted online are all real shots. The house hasn't been rented out before, so I prefer clean people."

"It's normal for you to have requirements, but we haven't seen the house yet, so it's best to talk about it in person after we've seen it." Judging by her tone, she seemed like a fairly individualistic girl.

"I have something to do today. Would it be okay after three o'clock in the afternoon?" I thought for a moment and replied.

I hung up the phone and immediately started getting out of bed, urging Pei Shi Yu, "Hurry up and get up. I have things to do this afternoon. I basically can't do anything in the morning. Let's have lunch and then go see Lin... my dad."

"Someone wants to rent the house?"

As I said that, I was already walking downstairs. As soon as I opened the door, I saw a middle-aged aunt standing in the garden. Hearing the sound, she immediately turned around and said, "Hello, I heard you're looking for a nanny?"

I looked at her a little surprised. She wasn't very old, about fifty years old, and looked quite clean. I didn't answer her directly but asked curiously, "Who told you?"

Because I had been getting off work late this week and had also worked overtime yesterday, Saturday, I hadn't had time to look for a nanny at all. I was very surprised by her words...

"It's like this, I'm currently working at the house in front. This place has been empty recently. A few days ago, when I went to buy groceries, I saw a car parked at the door, so I came over to ask if you needed someone?"

"Tomorrow is my last day. They're not living here anymore, so..."

I pointed outside and said, "This aunt is looking for a nanny job, go take a look."

"No, she came herself. She said she's working nearby and tomorrow is her last day. She saw our car parked at the door and came over to ask."

"Then go reject her."

"She looks honest enough and is very clean. Go take a look."

A few days ago, when I went to buy groceries, I saw your car parked at your house. I've been waiting for several days and haven't seen you.
