Chapter 1119: Chapter 1119: The Token Is on Madam
“Uncle Li, let me be honest with you. We saved you for two reasons: first, because you were wrongfully accused, and second, because we want your help to see if there’s a way to deal with Shangguan Tao and his people.”
“I’ve mostly figured it out. He has taken everything from my mother, and even worse, he’s been abusing her. He wants to get his hands on a hidden token from her to leverage a secret power. There’s no forgiving their actions.”
“I can’t let my mother fall into their hands and continue to be abused by them, so I have to take the initiative to fight back.”
Li Jing was shocked to hear this, “They’ve been abusing the madam all along?!”
Mo Jun nodded, “Yes, they’ve been subjecting her to mental abuse, causing her condition to deteriorate and her mind to become increasingly unclear. This is what I found through my own investigation; and if my mother didn’t comply with them, they’d even resort to physical abuse.”
“This is too much!” Li Jing said furiously.
“Shangguan Tao and his people are monsters! They’ve taken everything from the madam and now treat her like this. They are truly mad for profit!”
“Miss, I really was wrongfully accused. I didn’t embezzle company funds; I was framed by Shangguan Tao!”
“Back then, they wanted to use me to get the token, and when I refused, they plotted to frame me. These years in prison, they’ve been trying to force me to speak.”
“I kept saying I didn’t know, so they slowly left me alone, but they never fully believed me and kept trying to make me talk.”
“Miss, if it weren’t for you, I would never have gotten out in this lifetime…”
Li Jing became somewhat sad towards the end, teary-eyed.
He gratefully said to Mo Jun, “Miss, no matter what, I’m very grateful to you for saving me. If it weren’t for you, I definitely wouldn’t be out.”
“So, do you want revenge on them?” Mo Jun asked.
“Yes!” Li Jing nodded, a flash of hatred in his eyes, “I’ve wanted revenge every moment, Miss. I’m willing to cooperate with you! Anything you want me to do, as long as it gets back at them and helps you.”
“Good, if you trust me, I won’t let you down!” Mo Jun promised, then straightforwardly asked, “Uncle Li, do you know where the token is? We must get our hands on it; it can’t fall into their possession.”
“The token is with the madam,” Li Jing said, “But I have no idea where she put it. Shangguan Tao hasn’t found it, so it’s clearly well hidden.”
“Do you have any clues about where she might have put it?”
Li Jing shook his head, “No. It’s very precious, and I’ve never asked about it. I genuinely don’t know where it is. But it’s indeed with the madam; I’ve seen it.”
Mo Jun nodded, feeling somewhat troubled.
This makes it really difficult; given Rumeng’s current condition, it’s impossible to ask where it is.
In other words, besides her, no one knows where the token is.
“Miss, I’m very ashamed, it seems like I can’t help much.” Li Jing said guiltily, feeling defeated by his inadequacy.
Mo Jun shook her head, “Actually, the token isn’t the main focus; whether we get it or not doesn’t matter. I have other tasks I need your help with.”
“What?” Li Jing asked with immediate anticipation.
“Can you find a way to prove your innocence and uncover evidence of Shangguan Tao’s framing? As long as we can deal with them and leave them with nothing, that’s enough.”
