Chapter 551 Going Out

As Er Bao and Cai Qing returned, Da Bao immediately clamored to go out.

Feng Jin, without much packing, was dragged into the carriage by Da Bao.

As soon as the carriage hit the street, Da Bao became restless, crying to get down. Feng Jin’s head was about to split from his noise, and she immediately regretted bringing Da Bao out. Finally, she relented, asking the carriage to stop on the side, and they all alighted.

The moment they appeared, they attracted the gaze of countless passersby. Feng Jin’s beauty was already top-notch, and coupled with the two adorable children beside her, every move they made drew considerable attention.

Feng Jin was accustomed to such stares and walked forward with great generosity and ease. Ling Wan, however, felt extremely uncomfortable under their gazes, lowering her head and constantly avoiding their eyes.

Ling Wan walked with her head down, her thoughts in a jumble. In her distraction, she stumbled. If Chu Qing hadn’t quickly caught her, she would have fallen to the ground.

“Second Miss, be careful.”

Ling Wan steadied herself hastily, still feeling a sense of lingering fear. She looked back at Chu Qing with eyes full of gratitude, “Thank you.”

“Be careful, don’t fall,” Feng Jin said, turning her head upon hearing the commotion, and asked with concern.

“I know, Eldest Sister-in-law.”

Ling Wan’s eyes remained lowered, and she replied absentmindedly.

“Auntie… let’s… go…” At Feng Jin’s signal, Da Bao turned around, took Ling Wan’s hand, and ran forward rapidly.

“Mother… want… want…”

Da Bao pointed at the sugar-coated hawthorn vendor ahead and shouted loudly. His eyes were fixed on the candied hawthorns, and he could barely contain his saliva.

Feng Jin was speechless. How could this child be so greedy? In the end, she reluctantly asked Cai Qing to get some sugar-coated hawthorns.

“Mother, sweet… Mother, eat…”

While Da Bao was enthusiastic about eating, he was also very generous with sharing. Anything he found delicious, he would definitely share with Feng Jin. After just one bite, finding it delicious, he insisted on feeding it to Feng Jin.

Defeated by Da Bao’s enthusiasm, Feng Jin could only take a small bite, “Alright, Mother has eaten. You eat it yourself.”

“Mother… want…”

“Mother… this…”

“Mother… want this… this…”

Da Bao was like Liu Grandma entering the Grand View Garden; everything he saw was novel. Whatever its purpose, he insisted on buying it. Before long, their hands were full.

Da Bao continued to stride ahead proudly, holding a sugar-coated hawthorn, looking like a valiant general.

After a short period of quiet, Da Bao stopped and turned to look at Feng Jin behind him, patting his little stomach, “Mother, I’m hungry…”

“You’re hungry again? Didn’t you just eat a piece of pastry? Why are you hungry again?”

They had bought something to eat along the way, so why was he already hungry again? Da Bao’s stomach was truly a bottomless pit.

Feng Jin turned to Er Bao beside her and asked, “Er Bao, are you hungry?”

Er Bao shook his head obediently. He was not like the greedy Da Bao who got hungry so often. No matter how much he ate, he was never full and would eventually become a big fatty. Having such a brother truly made him lose face.

“Mother… hungry…”

Da Bao walked to Feng Jin’s side, tugged on her sleeve, and said pitifully, his eyes shimmering with a few tears.

“Let’s go eat.” After walking for so long, she was also a bit hungry. Just eating snacks wouldn't fill her stomach. If they didn't let Da Bao eat his fill, they would all be bothered to death.

Upon arriving at the restaurant, they found a seat by the window. As usual, Feng Jin ordered one of every signature dish.

When the dishes were all served, Da Bao picked up his chopsticks and began to eat heartily. He couldn’t reach the dishes further away, so he simply stood on his chair to pick them up, truly embodying the spirit of a hungry diner. Feng Jin was amused by his behavior.

However, all eyes in the surroundings turned towards them. Feng Jin felt a bit embarrassed and reached out to pull Da Bao, who was standing on the chair, down. She forcibly pushed him back into his seat, “Eat like a person eating. What does it look like standing on the chair? We are outside, don’t embarrass me.”

Her old face was really about to be lost by Da Bao. Feng Jin busied herself by serving dishes to Da Bao’s bowl one by one, so he wouldn’t continue to embarrass himself.

Then she looked at Er Bao sitting beside her. When eating, he was refined and polite, chewing slowly. He was like a miniature Ling Mo Han sitting there, the contrast with Da Bao was too stark.

Feng Jin was just about to praise Er Bao and set him up as a positive role model for Da Bao, when Er Bao suddenly stood up, took his bowl and chopsticks, and moved to a seat further away from Da Bao, muttering two words, “Embarrassing!”

If Er Bao weren’t so small, she would have truly believed that the person who had just walked past her was Ling Mo Han. Every gesture, every expression was exactly like Ling Mo Han’s. He was simply a living replica of Ling Mo Han, too similar.

Da Bao, as the subject of the mockery, paid no mind to Er Bao’s words and continued his feasting.

“Everyone eat. If you’re not full, order another round,” Feng Jin said to Ling Wan and the other two, who were also watching with wide eyes, urging them to eat quickly so they wouldn’t attract so much attention to Da Bao.

“Okay… let’s eat… eat…”

Ling Wan was also astonished by Da Bao’s appetite. It was far from ordinary; she estimated that she couldn’t eat as much as Da Bao.

“Burp…”

After eating his fill, Da Bao let out a satisfied burp and patted his round belly, his face full of contentment.

“Full?” Feng Jin could tell from Da Bao’s expression that he was indeed full.

Da Bao nodded, patted his round little belly, “Full, Mother eat…”

He didn’t forget to put the remaining food in his bowl in front of Feng Jin, claiming it was to avoid waste. Feng Jin was completely speechless at his thrifty behavior. Should she call it being thrifty, or caring for her? Even the leftovers were thought of for her.

“Now that you’re done eating, stand up and move around a bit. You ate so much, aren’t you worried about overfilling yourself? Get up and walk to digest the food in your stomach.”
