"No, once words are spoken, even a team of horses cannot retract them. Doing business requires integrity; if you say it, you must do it!"
Ling Mohan's attitude was resolute, leaving Feng Jin no room for negotiation. He tossed the ring in his hand outward, and it landed steadily on a white glazed porcelain vase.
Feng Jin gritted her teeth in frustration, glaring fiercely at Ling Mohan. "Ling Mohan, you're ruthless. I remember this, and I will have my revenge; otherwise, I'm no gentleman!"
With those harsh words, Feng Jin bypassed the man and walked out.
Her chest heaved rapidly with anger, and Feng Jin's breathing was hurried. She knew that one day, she would be angered to death by this imbecilic fellow Ling Mohan, who was always doing such foolish things.
It seemed her stall was truly going to be ruined this time. Ling Mohan was truly something else. If she didn't get revenge for this, she'd write her name backward.
In less than the time it takes to drink a cup of tea, Ling Mohan had thrown all the rings. Almost all the items on display were now adorned with a ring.
Ling Mohan, however, appeared relaxed. He tossed the last ring in his hand, which landed perfectly on the largest jade carving of a peony ornament.
Seeing this scene, Feng Jin felt her heart shatter. Her lips twitched, and she cast a cold glare at the culprit, wondering if Ling Mohan felt immensely proud of his masterpiece.
"Well, are you satisfied with these?"
"Satisfied, extremely satisfied, more satisfied than I could possibly be!" Feng Jin said through gritted teeth, barely suppressing her urge to throw a ring directly at Ling Mohan's face.
Ling Mohan lowered his gaze, appreciating the ever-changing expressions on Feng Jin's face, finding it exceedingly amusing.
"Lu Shi, move all the items you just ringed out."
Only then did Feng Jin fully realize that Ling Mohan was serious. She rushed to block his path. "Ling Mohan, you're really going through with this? You're really going to move the items?"
She asked Ling Mohan again, her eyes filled with a warning. If he dared to nod, she would slap him.
"Naturally. I paid for the rings. As a business owner, you can't go back on your word, can you?"
Cornered, Feng Jin couldn't utter a single word of refusal. Things had come to this, and she could only resign herself to her fate. She could only blame her bad luck.
She would just consider it a loss to avert disaster. They were just small items, and she had plenty in her storeroom; she didn't care for these things at all.
"I naturally keep my word. My integrity has always been the best. Since you've ringed them, you can take them away directly."
Feng Jin had resigned herself. If he wanted to move them, he could just let Ling Mohan take them.
Ling Mohan's lips curved into a faint smile. What he loved most was seeing Feng Jin's reluctant yet stubbornly unyielding demeanor.
A flame ignited within him, wanting to tease Feng Jin. Ling Mohan turned to Lu Shi, who stood beside him. "What are you still staring at? Hurry up and move everything. Everything I've ringed, not a single one should be left behind. Take it all away."
"Ah! Young General... this is too much. If I have to move it all myself, I'll be worked to death."
Lu Shi glanced around. Almost all the items had a bamboo ring on them. If he had to move so many things by himself, how long would that take?
"Just move it if I tell you to. Stop with all the nonsense!"
Lu Shi was becoming increasingly talkative and always liked to argue with him for a bit.
"Yes, Young General."
Lu Shi stiffly agreed. Under Feng Jin's warning gaze, he hesitantly picked up the items, his feet trembling uncontrollably.
"Young Madam, these are the Young General's orders. I... I am also forced into this... Please bear with me."
"It's alright, Lu Shi, just move them!"
These words were for Lu Shi, but Feng Jin's gaze remained fixed on Ling Mohan. He was truly something else, daring to move them out. It was as if he had made up his mind, determined to oppose her to the very end.
Feng Jin took a deep breath, suppressing her anger. She absolutely could not get angry at this moment, or she would lose face completely. She absolutely could not get angry.
Having made up her mind, Feng Jin forced a slightly bitter smile onto her lips. It was just these few items; she had plenty and didn't care for them at all.
Watching everything being moved away, Feng Jin felt her heart breaking into pieces.
"Young General, they... they've all been moved."
Lu Shi panted, sweat beading on his forehead. He was utterly exhausted, and he still had to move them from here to the study. He had finished all this work by himself.
Ling Mohan carefully observed Feng Jin's expression, which was extremely displeased but she was trying hard not to erupt.
"Aren't you going to set them up again?"
"No more. Today ends here. If you want to continue playing, we'll do it tomorrow."
She had no mood to set them up again, and besides, all the items she had prepared had been taken by Ling Mohan. Even if she wanted to continue setting them up, she needed items.
Were they going to ring empty air? After saying this, Feng Jin turned and left in great anger.
"That's it? We haven't had enough fun yet!"
Lin Yuwei said with a hint of disappointment. She had just gotten the hang of it and was preparing to showcase her skills, but it was over just like that. It was really not satisfying.
"Yes, I didn't even get the hairpin I wanted," Ling Wan said with a dejected look, not expecting it to end so soon.
"Eldest Brother, you've really angered Eldest Sister-in-law this time."
Ling Muzhu felt that what his eldest brother had done was indeed a bit excessive. He had clearly seen Eldest Sister-in-law's face turn dark.
"Indulgence in pleasure leads to the neglect of duty. You should all disperse soon."
Ling Mohan did not directly answer Ling Muzhu's words but simply said dismissively, brushing the matter aside.
As he passed by Lin Yuwei, Ling Mohan kindly reminded her, "Prince Jing is looking for you all over the streets. From his expression, he's quite angry. Shouldn't you hurry back?"
It wasn't entirely unreasonable for Chu Chenyi to be angry. Lin Yuwei was too reckless, running out alone while pregnant. Wasn't that foolish?
"Ah... Oh no..."
