Chapter 747 Playing All Night

"Get out of my room immediately! There is no place for you here. Just get out."

As soon as she spoke, Feng Jin grabbed Ling Mohan and threw him out. She even tossed his clothes and bedding out, clearly preparing to kick him out entirely.

"It's late at night and freezing. You're kicking me out now, where am I supposed to sleep?"

Clad only in a thin inner garment, a gust of cold wind made Ling Mohan, despite his excellent constitution, shiver uncontrollably.

Feng Jin was truly heartless to cast him out at such a time. Was she trying to end his life?

"Sleep wherever you want. Regardless, there's no place for you here. Hurry up and pack your things and leave. The farther you go, the better. I don't want to see you anymore!"

Feng Jin, seated on a chair, could not hide her anger. Her mind was filled with Ling Mohan's actions towards her.

She would absolutely not forgive Ling Mohan so easily. Letting him sleep alone in an empty room for a few days would also grant her some peace, free from his disturbance.

"You really want to drive me away..."

Ling Mohan still called out from outside the door, unwilling to give up. He had managed to wrap himself in a quilt, which made him feel a little better.

If outsiders saw his disheveled state, they would surely laugh their heads off.

On such a cold night, it was impossible for anyone to stand outside. It was only Feng Jin, this heartless woman, who completely disregarded his well-being and kicked him out.

After all his love for her, she had done this to him. Didn't her conscience hurt at all?

"Stop wailing outside. If you dare to say anything more outrageous, you'll never set foot in my room again."

Upon hearing this, the incessantly noisy Ling Mohan immediately fell silent. He didn't want to remain a monk forever. If Feng Jin truly barred him from her room, he would be truly miserable.

It was better to keep his mouth shut for now. He couldn't let a small loss outweigh the greater gain.

The noise outside ceased. Feng Jin glanced over and saw Ling Mohan still standing in the same spot, not leaving.

Since he wasn't leaving, let him freeze outside. A little more cold might clear his head and make him realize what he should be doing.

Having made up her mind, Feng Jin blew out the lamp, lifted the quilt, and lay down in the warm embrace of her bed.

It was good to have someone to warm the bed in winter. If it were the coldest period some time ago, she wouldn't have had the heart to turn Ling Mohan out. But things were different now. The weather was about to warm up, and the room was heated by charcoal. She didn't really need Ling Mohan anymore.

As the room suddenly plunged into darkness, Ling Mohan's heart also sank. Now, he truly had no hope of returning to sleep.

He would only be able to return to the study and make do for the night. It seemed he really needed to install a soft couch in the study for such unforeseen circumstances.

A familiar set of footsteps sounded from outside the door. Feng Jin opened her eyes, which had been only half-closed, knowing he had finally left. Now she could finally resume the matters that had been left unfinished that afternoon.

Getting up from the warm embrace of her bed, Feng Jin called all her girlfriends to come over. There were four of them in total, just enough to continue playing mahjong.

"Young Madam, shouldn't you be sleeping at this late hour? Are you sure it's alright for us to play now?"

Chu Qing's eyelids were already drooping. She had just fallen asleep when the Young Madam had called her, saying they were one player short for mahjong and it was her.

Her mind was muddled for a moment, and she hadn't fully processed the situation when she fell for the Young Madam's trick and followed along inexplicably. Now, she was regretting it. Wasn't sleeping in bed better than this? Why must they be playing mahjong in the middle of the night?

"Of course, we're playing all night today."

"All night, Sister-in-law..."

"You all just sit here at ease. I've already made all the arrangements for everything else. I've given instructions on what to say to outsiders, so just play with peace of mind. Everything is handled by me."

To enjoy herself to the fullest, Feng Jin had taken care of all their affairs. There would be no need for any worry.

"Young Madam, your maid still has to..."

"We'll talk about tomorrow's matters tomorrow. Let's get through today first, then discuss tomorrow."

Feng Jin waved her hand dismissively, not allowing anyone to persuade her otherwise. This opportunity that she had finally waited for, how could she give it up so easily?

The three exchanged helpless glances, all uniformly regretting having come.

"Quickly, Ling Wan, it's your turn to play a tile."

Feng Jin kept urging them on, not willing to waste even a second.

They played until the sky dawned and the faintest light appeared before the group finally concluded their arduous night of battles.

"Look at how exhausted you all are. Alright, alright, we'll stop here for today. You all go back and rest. We'll play again tomorrow."

After playing through the entire night, she too was somewhat depleted. She couldn't stop yawning and truly lacked the energy to continue playing.

"Young Madam, please spare me. I truly have no strength left to play with you."

Cai Qing looked utterly listless, with two huge dark circles under her eyes. She looked like she would fall asleep the moment a bed was placed before her.

"Sister-in-law, I can't do it anymore either. I really can't continue playing."

It wasn't just her physical strength that was failing; even her wallet couldn't hold on any longer. It was truly going to collapse.

Feng Jin sighed helplessly. Look at these gambling partners she had found. They were already begging to stop after playing for such a short time. It was truly boring. Moreover, after playing all night, whether she won or lost, she hadn't really won much.

For the sake of future games, Feng Jin decided to take out all the money she had won and placed it on the table.

"This is all I've won. I'll return it all to you."

"Really?"

Cai Qing asked excitedly. She was the one who had lost the most, and upon hearing this, her eyes immediately lit up with joy. Her bright eyes were fixed on the scattered silver on the table, as if she were about to reach out and grab it.

"Take it. I'm returning it to you."

Feng Jin waved her hand indifferently, saying, "Look at how greedy they all are. I'm truly impressed."

Winning too much wasn't good either. If they stopped playing with her, who would she find?

"Thank you, Young Madam."

Once confirmed, Cai Qing no longer stood on ceremony and directly began to take the money back. Overjoyed, she put the money back into her purse. The feeling of her purse being full was truly wonderful.

"What a complete moneygrubber."
