"Is that so?"
Feng Jin's tone was filled with suspicion and uncertainty, further confirming her belief that Ling Mohan was lying.
Otherwise, given Da Bao's abilities, it was absolutely impossible for him to fight three children significantly taller than him alone. She had thought about it for a long time and could only come up with this.
"Of course."
The man turned his head, affirming with a slight lack of confidence.
"Stop pretending. Do you really think I'm stupid enough to be easily fooled? If you hadn't taught them martial arts, with Da Bao's skills, how could he possibly win!"
Seeing that the matter could no longer be concealed, Ling Mohan immediately lost his confidence. He had felt that this matter wouldn't be hidden for long, but he hadn't expected it to be exposed so quickly.
Feng Jin glared fiercely at Ling Mohan and said impatiently, "Still not telling the truth? How long did you teach them, what did you teach them? Confess everything, word for word. Try saying a single lie and see what happens."
Finally succumbing to Feng Jin's formidable presence, Ling Mohan confessed the entire sequence of events.
"Is that all? Are you hiding anything?"
Her beautiful eyebrows slightly raised, Feng Jin's scrutinizing gaze fell upon Ling Mohan as she examined him.
"That's all."
Now it was Feng Jin's turn to be unconvinced. If he had only taught them these basic things, Da Bao couldn't possibly be so formidable. "This is impossible. If you only taught them the basics, Da Bao wouldn't be this powerful. Did someone else teach them besides you?"
Ling Mohan's next words directly negated Feng Jin's guess: "Impossible. The Ling Manor is heavily guarded; they wouldn't have had contact with anyone else."
The more he thought about it, the more Ling Mohan found it unlikely. After pondering for a long time, he suddenly remembered something that might be possible, and he quickly shared it with Feng Jin.
"Before, Da Bao did see me practice a set of boxing techniques and pestered me to teach him. I didn't agree. Do you think Da Bao secretly learned it then?"
Feng Jin's gaze met Ling Mohan's, and her face immediately showed shock: "That's certainly possible."
She understood her own son. This was indeed something Da Bao could do, and she completely believed in his capabilities.
"There is indeed that possibility."
Feng Jin sat down on the chair and pondered for a moment. She couldn't help but worry. Her sons, Da Bao and Er Bao, were so intelligent at such a young age. What about when they grew older...
These two children must be guided well in the future. She also worried that a slight misstep in their upbringing could be detrimental.
"Why does your face look so bad? Are you feeling unwell somewhere?"
Noticing Feng Jin's very unpleasant expression, Ling Mohan asked with concern, placing his hand on her slightly cool hand: "Your hands are so cold. Are you feeling cold?"
"I'm fine, I'm just worried about the children. Do you think we should find them a tutor to teach them?"
"Why are you suddenly thinking about this? Didn't you always say they were too young, that it was their age to play, and they shouldn't start studying too early?"
She had previously disagreed with starting their education too early to give the children a happy childhood. But now she felt that Da Bao and Er Bao were too intelligent. Some things they could understand without being taught. It would be better to find them good teachers early and then guide them.
"I've changed my mind now, can't I? In any case, quickly find them a good master to teach them."
Feeling displeased at being questioned, Feng Jin resorted to being unreasonable.
"In any case, this matter is for you to handle. You figure out the rest and make arrangements. I want to see the master the day after tomorrow."
He was the children's father, and doing these things was only natural. Ling Mohan should have been the one to do it.
"Whatever you wish. I'll make the arrangements."
Ling Mohan said helplessly. He really didn't dare to provoke Feng Jin.
Besides, finding a master wouldn't be difficult. They could simply post a notice to the public.
"Then you must remember, don't forget the important matters when you get busy."
It was precisely because Ling Mohan was usually too busy that he would forget things once he got engrossed. It was quite normal, so she still gave him a few more reminders out of concern.
"Don't worry."
"Daddy, Mommy, what were you just talking about?"
Da Bao ran into the room with a satisfied look after his meal, his excited gaze scanning both of them.
"Nothing, are you full?"
Feng Jin didn't intend to tell Da Bao about finding them a teacher yet and immediately changed the subject to ask.
"I'm full. Mommy's cooking is really delicious."
Patting his round belly, Da Bao was still relishing the meal. Mommy's cooking was much tastier than the kitchen's.
But Mommy was too lazy and rarely cooked for them. He didn't know when he would get to eat it again this time.
If Feng Jin could hear Da Bao's thoughts, she would surely fly into a rage and drag him up for a good beating.
"Mommy, when are we going out to play?"
Da Bao's heart was still set on going out to see the lantern festival. He looked expectantly at his mother and father, eager to go out.
Feng Jin was slightly taken aback at his words. When had she ever said she would take Da Bao out to play? Her gaze fell upon Ling Mohan beside her, and she immediately understood what was going on.
She had to play along and continue this act in front of the child. She couldn't let Ling Mohan lose face in front of the children and appear untrustworthy. She would have to bear this responsibility.
"I don't want to take you now. You've caused trouble, go back to your room and reflect."
"Mommy..."
Da Bao's little face drooped, and he looked like he was about to cry.
"Go back to your room!"
Feng Jin sternly reprimanded Da Bao with a furious expression. This little fellow's stubbornness was proving difficult to handle.
"I don't want to... I don't want to!"
Da Bao sat down on the ground and began to cry and fuss: "I want to see the lantern festival. Daddy promised me, I want to see the lantern festival..."
Feng Jin was speechless at his incorrigible behavior and even awkwardly covered her face, glaring fiercely at Ling Mohan. It was all his fault.
"Can you stop crying for now?"
Bending down, Feng Jin suppressed the urge to spank Da Bao and spoke in a gentle tone.
Da Bao momentarily stopped crying, his eyes still teary as he pleaded, "I want to... I want to see the lantern festival."
Utterly exasperated by Da Bao's persistence, Feng Jin, with a forced smile, yanked the sitting Da Bao up and dragged him unceremoniously in front of Ling Mohan.
