Chapter 1632: Chapter 1632 I Don’t Want to Sleep…

“Mommy will never betray your trust.” Jian Yufei kissed his eyes.

Ansel requested, “Mommy, I want to go out for a walk.”

He had been lying in bed for so long that he was almost fed up.

“Alright, Mommy will take you out to play.”

Jian Yufei gently removed the needle from the back of his hand, then dressed him in clothes and shoes, and carried him as she opened the door to go outside.

Downstairs, a few bodyguards were stationed. Seeing her come down, one of them asked curiously, “Sister-in-law, where are you going?”

“Prepare a car for me; I want to take Ansel out for a look around.”

“Alright.”

Ruan Tianling was not at the castle for now; he had gone to handle some matters.

Jian Yufei carried Ansel into the car. The car drove slowly, at a pace comparable to jogging speed, just so that Ansel could better appreciate the scenery along the way.

Ruan Tianling had chosen this location, set in the countryside, a place with beautiful landscapes.

At a distance, one could spot a villa with red tiles and white walls. Along the way, there were lakes, and occasionally a few white swans swam in the water.

This country carried an atmosphere of fairy tales everywhere. Ansel loved it here; children always liked fairy tales.

“Mommy, I want to get down and walk for a bit.” Ansel softly requested.

Jian Yufei immediately instructed the bodyguards to stop the car—

She held his hand and walked towards the nearby lake.

After walking a few steps, Ansel felt so tired that his small body couldn’t help but lean against Jian Yufei’s leg.

“Tired?” Jian Yufei stopped and asked him.

“A little, but I can still manage.”

Ever since he became ill, he hadn’t shed a tear or shown sadness, and seeing him so strong made Jian Yufei’s heart ache even more.

“How about we stop here and rest?” Jian Yufei suggested.

“No, I want to walk. I can keep going.” Ansel insisted, taking firm steps forward. He wanted to prove that he was still a healthy child, that he could do more.

Jian Yufei followed him silently, and the bodyguards trailed along quietly too.

Ansel had walked less than fifty meters when his legs gave out and he began gasping for breath.

Jian Yufei quickly held him in her arms.

Leaning against her, he said sadly, “Mommy, I’m so useless. I couldn’t even walk such a short distance.”

Jian Yufei hugged him tightly, forcing a strained smile, “No, in Mommy’s eyes, you’re the most amazing child.”

Ansel’s eyelids drooped down. “Mommy, does this mean I’ll never be the strongest man again?”

“No, being sick is only temporary. Ansel, you should never doubt your future.”

“Mommy, I don’t want to sleep…”

Jian Yufei didn’t know what to say.

“Mommy, I’m so scared I’ll fall asleep and never wake up… but I’m so tired, I can’t help it…” Ansel clutched her clothes tightly, his eyes filled with a painful struggle.

He didn’t want to sleep, but he had no choice but to fall asleep.

Does he fear every time he nods off?

To him, does every bout of sleep feel like an encounter with death?

Her child was so young; how could he bear such torment?

If it were her, she would have completely broken down, because she wouldn’t know whether any lapse could become permanent…

“Baby, don’t be scared. You’re okay. Trust me, you’ll be okay.” Jian Yufei kissed his forehead repeatedly, tears streaming down her face and falling onto his cheeks.
