Chapter 2409: Methods Of Advancement.
One of the preparations they made was concerning the advancement requirement for rank 7 of the pathway of telepathy.
For them to become legendary telepaths, they must make a legendary godclad become mad and lose control. They have three methods to do that.
The first method they have is to curse the legendary godclad. They can do this using their fate-weaver slave.
A mental curse that is powerful enough can weaken the minds of legends and make them easily lose control when they liberate their divine beast form.
As long as they have something related to the target, they can curse them from afar, or they can use physical contact with the cursed vessel to curse the target.
This option is very good because of the ranged option, but this option will take time to set up because the fate weaver has to create a cursed vessel and accumulate a lot of curse in it.
However, they aren’t sure if this method will work to meet their advancement requirement for rank 7 of the pathway of the telepath because the method they used to make the legendary godclad go mad doesn’t have anything to do with the pathway of telepaths.
They already made a demigod become mad by using the method of cursing them. They did so recently too.
If this method counted towards their advancement requirements, they should have met it by now after making that demigod mad. But their divine flesh is still unsatisfied.
The only reasons they can think of for why making that demigod become mad didn’t count towards their advancement were that they had turned a demigod mad, not a legend, or that cursing people doesn’t count towards the advancement requirements regardless of their rank.
Fortunately, they have two other methods that they can use to meet the advancement requirement. The second method is to rely on their rank 6 divine ability called Psychic Howl.
Psychic Howl is a terrifying mental attack that is effective against most types of defense. This is because Psychic Howl behaves like sound waves.
Just like sound waves can penetrate and move through solids such as walls, the Psychic Howl attack can also bypass solid defenses around the mind. In fact, Psychic Howl is very effective against defenses and will crack them just like a high-pitched sound will crack glass.
So they can use Psychic How against legendary godclads to break down their minds and make them become mad. The only problem with this plan is that they will have to be close to a legend to use this method on them.
If they used the cursed vessel, they can use the rank 3 divine ability of fate weavers called Hex Puppet to curse the target. All they will need is something related to the target to create a link between the Hex puppet and that target to transfer the curse through.
So with the first method, they can make the target lose their mind in relative safety. But if they have to use the Psychic Howl method, they will have to engage the target first.
Be that as it may, since they are not sure about the effectiveness of the first method, they might have to rely on the first method. At least, this is what most legendary godclads use to advance to rank 7.
There is also a third method. It is something that telepaths can also use but is a more dangerous option.
This option is to buy memory fragments and use them on the target. They can use their rank 1 divine ability called Mental Probe to create an appendage of spiritual energy that will carry the memory fragments and deposit them in the minds of the target.
The problem with this method is that not only can the target sense them and come for them, but the target also might not use the memory fragments.
As rank 6 telepaths, they can’t force the target to use the memory fragments. They can only hope that the target will become curious and open their minds to the contents of the memory fragments.
If the target takes the bait, then they will go mad, and the advancement requirement will be met. But this is unlikely because the target will sense them touching their minds and will suspect that the memory fragments are bad.
If the target refuses to take the bait, not only would they not meet the advancement requirement, but they might also have to fight the target. So they will have to resort to the second option to make the target become mad.
The third option usually fails, which is why most telepaths used the Psychic Howl method to advance to the legendary rank. Even so, they are still going to prepare to use the two methods.
Psychic Howl is good to go. All they need to do is get some memory fragments and find a legendary target to turn mad.
Getting memory fragments is easy to do for them. It is also easier to find a target to turn mad in the kingdom of Hydra.
Legion-7 said in anticipation, "After we make a legend go mad, we should kill them with the Blood Manipulation divine ability. That will be killing two birds with one stone."
As they spoke, they planned. And as they planned, they prepared by executing some of those plans. As they did all of these, they directed their slaves to where they were.
The first slave to return was Sir Edwin, the merchant and noble. He was able to return quickly because he was their strongest slave.
As soon as he returned, they immediately got to work trying out their new Power Bond divine ability on him.
They didn’t take control of his noble divine abilities since they already have the divine abilities of nobles through their legendary noble slave. And the ones they have through their legendary noble slave are better.
What they wanted from Edwin was his rank 4 divine ability of the pathway of merchants called the Power of Wealth.
