Chapter 314: Unreasonable Adrian
"Baby, it’s almost dry. I think we should sleep—"
"Elle," Adrian’s eyes opened and suddenly, Ella gulped again.
The pair of dark eyes were burning with ravenous desire.
These past few days, even though they have slept on the same bed, Ella made sure to place a bowl of water between them.
He was a very elegant sleeper. But she was not. She had been afraid she would damage him further in her sleep.
Hence, the bowl of water. Not that it could stop her from throwing her limbs around. Every day, the mattress was half damp in the morning.
"Ah!"
Ella snapped out of her reverie when Adrian bit her neck.
"What are you thinking about?"
"You... Were you a dog in your previous life? I was obviously thinking about where I put the bowl this morning!" Ella was speechless when he pulled back and glanced at her with narrowed eyes.
"Cough... Cough... Your injuries are still healing. It would be best for us to..."
"No more bowls," Adrian declared. Holding her hips, he pressed her down on himself, letting her feel his throbbing need, "Alright?"
Ella felt his heat even through all the layers of clothes between them and suddenly her throat went dry.
Her body heated up abnormally and a familiar ache built between her legs.
"Adrian, we..."
Adrian leaned closer to her, his lips barely touching hers, "I will be gentle."
Perhaps it was his husky and seductive voice, or the way he looked at her so suggestively, Ella melted under his touch.
Her heart skipped a few beats as she leaned towards him, removing the outer layer of her nightgown, "Then... Then, you must keep your word."
Adrian’s gaze deepened, his breath hitched as Ella wrapped her arms around his neck.
Her lips parted and for a moment, she hovered over his lips.
They stayed close enough to feel each other’s warm breaths yet their mouths were inches from touching.
Adrian raised his hand, gliding it on her back till his palm settled on the back of her neck.
And slowly, he gripped the same spot.
Something shifted inside Ella, her legs instinctively closed together as his thumb stroked the side of her neck, grabbing it firmly as he pulled her towards him.
The moment their lips were about to touch—
’Knock Knock’
The trance broke and Ella immediately sprinted back from Adrian.
Before he could even register anything, she was already out of his embrace as she put on the upper layer of her nightgown.
A loud thunderstorm cackled over Adrian’s head as dark clouds surrounded the man.
He slowly gazed towards the closed door, his eyes reflecting an eerie shade of black.
"Scram."
There were a few rustling noises before Bertha’s voice rang through the master bedroom.
"Second Master, forgive my daughter for disturbing you at this hour. Actually, it is urgent."
Hearing that, Ella immediately glanced at Adrian.
But the man was unfazed, apart from his foul mood of course, "What is it?"
"The Old Master and Old Madam would be here in 5 minutes. They have crossed the main gates."
...
"Dear, stop overthinking things. That brat is not a child. What can go wrong with him?" Old Master King coaxed his wife.
Old Madam King sighed, "The people around Little Ian are utterly loyal to him. They would blindly follow his orders and wouldn’t let us know even if something happened."
"But, why do you think something happened?"
"It hasn’t been long since Ronan returned to the Main Mansion but he hasn’t come to see me even once!"
"That boy is busy," Old Master King sighed, "Don’t you know how hardworking he is? He must be stuck with something!"
"But it hasn’t happened before..." Old Madam King was not convinced, "If there was no reason, Ronan wouldn’t avoid me deliberately."
"Fine. Whatever you say, dear. Now that we are here, we can check what that brat is up to."
Talking and analysing, the old couple finally arrived at the Eve Mansion.
When they entered, everything seemed fairly normal.
The servants bowed to them in an orderly manner.
Perhaps by the sound of arrival of the guests, Riri and Lala also dashed forward, circling Old Madam King.
"These two do not seem to be as fond of me," Old Master King grumbled.
"You are always scowling and frowning at their parents. What do you expect?" Old Madam King happily indulged her grandchildren for a bit before she looked around.
Her gaze landed on Bertha, "Where is Little Ian?"
Bertha’s usually composed face seemed a bit unnatural. She quickly lowered her head, "The Second Master is resting, Old Madam. How about I inform him of your arrival?"
"No need. Since we are here, we will just find him ourselves," Old Master King stroked his beard and walked to the staircase wilfully. He paused after a few steps and looked over, "Wife, come along."
Old Madam King nodded and followed after him.
These days, their grandson had been acting unlike himself. So, the old couple were at their wits’ end, trying to figure him out. No wonder they were so edgy about it.
"Mother... What if something goes wrong?" Rin whispered to Bertha.
Bertha sighed, "We have already informed them in advance. It should be fine."
On the other side, Old Madam King looked at her husband as they made their way to the Master Bedroom, "Our grandson is not a child anymore, don’t just say anything recklessly to him."
"That brat was more well-behaved as a child. I had not seen him for some time and now he acts weird with me."
"What weird?"
"Like he is flashing his relationship on this old man’s face. So what if he has a girlfriend? I have a wife too."
A vein twitched on Old Madam’s forehead but she did not bother to indulge him with a response.
Instead, she raised her hand and knocked on the door.
A few minutes passed but there was no response from inside.
Old Master’s easygoing expressions faded slowly and his face looked solemn as he exchanged a glance with his wife.
They knocked again and waited for a minute.
"Little Ian, it’s us!" Old Madam said.
No response.
’Crash’
The sound of something shattering pierced through the room and the old couple froze.
"I told you something is wrong," Old Madam said as she twisted the doorknob.
The door was pushed open and the old couple froze.
