Chapter 1469: Chapter 1469: Protect Her Well in the Future
Charles Mcintosh had an imposing presence, even in a casual grey coat today, he didn’t seem approachable.
Sure enough, Little 11 was intimidated and nodded hastily.
“With this timid appearance, how are you going to protect a woman?” Charles sternly said.
“I’ll try my best, I won’t always be like this,” Little 11 said stubbornly, his face turning red.
“You like Lilac Serval? Huh?”
“I…” Little 11 nodded shyly.
“Forgive my bluntness, but do you think you are worthy of her now? As a man, leaving aside having nothing, you still rely on her support. Plus your personality, Lilac Serval has to protect you, what kind of man does that make you?” Charles said each word sharply, with a displeased tone.
Little 11 was scolded a bit and it hit all his insecurities, leaving him embarrassed.
Yet, he felt that Charles wasn’t wrong.
“Mr. Mcintosh… I won’t always be like this, I am working hard!” Little 11 defended, “I dropped out of school for a long time, but I still got a scholarship at the end of last semester. I will strive, and improve, I won’t let Sister Lilac down.”
“You stutter and blush when you speak, what kind of future can you have!”
“I…” Little 11 felt wronged by the scolding.
It was just a bit of introversion, was it really that bad?
“Protect her well in the future, never let her feel unhappy,” Charles’s tone softened slightly, speaking indifferently.
“I can do that.”
“Hmm.”
After speaking, Charles entered the apartment, placing the breakfast he bought on the table.
His gaze lingered in the direction of the bathroom for a few seconds, then he strode away.
Little 11 didn’t dare to breathe loudly, acknowledging that in front of Mr. Mcintosh, he felt like a child.
Watching Charles leave, Little 11 exhaled deeply.
Soon, Lilac Serval came out of the bathroom, dressed in a beige coat and light makeup, looking more pure than usual.
Her slightly curved hair strands fell over her shoulders, a playful flick of her fingers radiated charm.
“Sister Lilac, ready? Shall we go out now?”
“Yes, I’m ready.” Lilac picked up a wine-red shoulder bag and put it on.
“Sister Lilac, Mr. Mcintosh has left, that… his breakfast.” Little 11 pointed to the table.
“Oh.” Lilac didn’t even look up.
“Sister Lilac, is he… a very good friend of yours?”
“No, he’s someone I really, really dislike,” Lilac said indifferently as she put on her shoes, “Let’s not talk about him anymore.”
“Okay, okay, Sister Lilac, where would you like to have breakfast? I can take you. But I don’t have a car, we might need to take the subway,” Little 11 scratched his head, feeling a bit embarrassed.
“It’s okay, I don’t like riding in cars, I prefer taking the subway. Let’s go to your school, didn’t you say there are many good places to eat near your school and that your school is very beautiful?”
“Yes, very beautiful! Alright then, we’ll go to my school. I’ll show you around. There’s also a lecture and a welcoming party today, do you want to join?”
“Sure.”
Lilac and Little 11 walked side by side towards the outside.
Little 11 was quite thin and seemed to not be very robust, but remembering Charles’s words, he walked with his head held high and chest out, always protecting Lilac.
As Lilac and Little 11 left the residential area, nobody noticed the Cayenne parked not far from the building.
The black car was obscure in the parking lot, and the man in the driver’s seat lit a cigarette, his eyes deep and inscrutable.
