Chapter 1456: Chapter 1456: Keep Your Woman in Line

"Jasmine Yale, when others ask you to do something, you do it. When I ask you to do something, why don’t I hear a response?"

"I didn’t!" Jasmine Yale raised her head to argue.

"Eat breakfast."

After saying that, Sylvan Cheney didn’t ask her another question, pushed her aside, and walked out of the kitchen.

His tall figure quickly disappeared from her view.

Jasmine Yale was momentarily bewildered.

Was he angry? Or was he ignoring her?

At her feet, there was white powder; in her hand, there was coffee yet to be ground.

Jasmine turned around and continued to grind the coffee, her eyes carrying a deflated expression, like the ripples on a lake.

Soon, the coffee was ready.

It smelled good, filling the kitchen with the rich and robust aroma of coffee.

As usual, she carried the coffee out.

But, when she reached the dining room, she did not see Sylvan Cheney.

She stood dumbfounded for a moment, looking around uncertainly, searching for him.

"Miss Yale, are you looking for Mr. Cheney? Mr. Cheney drove off," Butler Santana hurriedly stepped forward and took the coffee from her hand.

A look of disappointment filled her eyes, and she said softly, "Did he have breakfast?"

"He didn’t. He might have gone to have breakfast at the company."

"Oh."

Jasmine Yale walked to the dining table, sure enough, he had not touched any of the breakfast on the table.

She picked up the chopsticks, took a steamed dumpling, and ate quietly with her head lowered.

But the area around her heart was anything but calm, thumping as if a little deer was inside.

She didn’t say anything, but she knew that Sylvan Cheney knew everything; nothing could be hidden from him.

The breakfast tasted good, but after a few bites, Jasmine Yale lost her appetite and only took a cup of milk to the balcony.

Better that he knew.

The matter was too significant; she did not dare to make a hasty decision.

Since he knew, she felt a sense of relief.

But, was he very angry...?

Jasmine Yale felt a bit lost, sitting on the balcony holding a cup of milk in one hand and her phone in the other.

After a long time thinking, she finally made a call to him.

Only, the line was busy.

On the road, Sylvan Cheney was on the phone with Charles Mcintosh: "Charles Mcintosh."

Charles had already arrived at the group, just made himself a cup of coffee, and received a call from Sylvan Cheney, his eyebrows furrowing slightly: "Mr. Cheney."

"Keep your woman in check."

"Hm?" Charles was momentarily startled.

But Sylvan Cheney had already hung up the call.

Charles was a smart man, and moreover, having followed Sylvan Cheney for so long, he suddenly realized what Sylvan was referring to.

Did Sylvan know?

The Rolls-Royce sped down the road, like a black swift.

The weather was not looking good today, overcast, with no sun, and everything was shrouded in a gray haze.

This kind of weather felt oppressive.

Sylvan Cheney adjusted his tie, his mood indeed not very good.

He understood what it meant for Lilac Serval to give Jasmine Yale that medicine, just as he knew that Lilac would not dare to make such a big decision on her own; it must have been Charles behind it.

And it was clear what Charles intended to do.

Jasmine Yale made another call to him.

Sylvan Cheney answered but did not speak.

Jasmine Yale pursed her lips, and finally spoke softly, "Why did you leave without having breakfast? You always tell me that skipping breakfast is bad for your health."

"..."

"Or is it that the breakfast at the Cheney Family restaurant tastes better than at home? If so, take me there someday to try it," Jasmine Yale said softly, knowing it was her fault.

Sylvan Cheney remained silent, also not ending the call.

Jasmine Yale continued, "Are you very angry..."
