Chapter 1440: Chapter 1440: It’s Okay, The Period is Over

During those days, Sylvan Cheney indeed brought her a gift every single day.

There were shoes, toys, and cosmetics... a different surprise each day, but always something she liked.

Every time, Jasmine Yale was particularly thrilled.

It was the first time she had received so many gifts from Sylvan Cheney.

That night, after finishing her herbal medicine, she picked up a set of new lipsticks he had bought for her.

"These colors are all so beautiful," Jasmine Yale admired.

"Not sure which suits you, so I got them all. You have fair skin; you can pull off any color," Sylvan Cheney said, looking at her, taking his time.

Jasmine Yale was delighted by his compliment, feeling as if her heart was coated with honey.

So sweet.

Jasmine’s fingers danced over the box, picking out a bean paste shade.

"This one, help me apply it and let’s see how it looks," Jasmine handed it to him.

Sylvan Cheney had never helped anyone apply lipstick before. He hesitated for a moment but still took it.

Jasmine was overjoyed; she thought he wouldn’t agree to do it.

Jasmine sat down in front of the dressing mirror and tidied her hair.

Sylvan Cheney opened the lipstick, leaned slightly towards her, and in a gentle, slow voice said, "Close your eyes."

Jasmine obediently closed her eyes.

Sylvan’s motions were gentle as he applied the lipstick for her.

Jasmine’s heart raced, her cheeks growing warm.

His warm breath on her face made her blush and heart beat even faster.

"All done." Sylvan covered the lipstick again and handed it to her.

Jasmine opened her eyes and examined the effect in the mirror repeatedly.

"Does it look good?" she asked him with a smile.

"Mhm."

"I think it looks good too," Jasmine looked at herself in the mirror a few more times.

The color wasn’t bright or extravagant; the everyday bean paste shade looked very gentle.

Jasmine didn’t want to wipe it off.

"I really like the lipstick."

"Be good and take your medicine; I’ll bring you a gift every day."

Jasmine compromised, standing up, she wrapped her arms around his waist and laughed, "Do you think supporting a woman is expensive?"

Sylvan Cheney ruffled her hair, "Men earn money to spend on their women."

"Are you busy tonight? If not, let’s go to the rooftop to watch the stars," Jasmine clung to his waist, unwilling to let go.

"Let’s go."

As he spoke, Sylvan scooped her up in a princess carry from the ground.

"Hey, I can walk."

Jasmine suddenly felt grateful that he had sent away all the servants from the Cheney Residence, so that no one would see whatever they did together.

The rooftop of the Cheney Residence offers the highest vantage point, surrounded by glass on three sides and the top, with a thick layer of plush carpet on the ground.

Wherever you stand, you can clearly see the scenery outside the Cheney Residence.

The view is of faraway mountains, while overhead is the sky.

Sylvan put her down, and she kicked off her shoes, stepping onto the soft, fluffy carpet.

"Be careful not to catch a cold."

"It’s fine, my period is over," Jasmine cheerfully replied.

Jasmine leaned on the indoor railing, blinking her eyes as she gazed at the stars.

There’s no place more suitable for stargazing than the roof of the Cheney Residence, where the environment is great and the stars especially clear.

The wind chimes she had hung earlier were still there; with a light touch, they would emit a crisp sound.

Sylvan stood next to her, folding his arms, joining her in observing the stars.

The rooftop was warm with ample heating, and Jasmine’s feet on the carpet felt very warm and cozy.

"I really like the Cheney Residence, I like everything here," Jasmine whispered, "Will we live here forever?"
