Wang Er Biao followed Sun Ling into the house, closing the door behind him.
Sun Ling sat on the sofa. "Tell me what's on your mind."
Wang Er Biao looked up at her, his expression earnest. "Ling'er, you must have seen how I feel about you. I like you, and I hope you'll be my girlfriend."
Sun Ling scoffed. "Are you out of your mind in this cold weather? If that's all you came here for, you should leave. There's no future for us, and it'll cause misunderstandings if the neighbors see us."
Wang Er Biao asked stubbornly, "Why is there no future? I promise to only be good to you from now on. I'd do anything for you." He thought for a moment and added to show his resolve, "I'd even kill."
"Heh." Sun Ling sneered at his words. "Wang Er Biao, how childish are you? What would I want you to kill for? Besides, we're not on the same path at all, and I already like someone else. You should give up this idea as soon as possible."
The muscles in Wang Er Biao's jaw twitched violently. His hands, hanging at his sides, clenched into fists, his eyes filled with unwillingness and anger. "If you don't like me, why do you hang out with me all the time, go to movies, roller skate, and even ask me to teach people a lesson for you?"
Sun Ling turned her head, her tone casual. "Because I was bored. I needed someone to play with. Besides, it wasn't just you; there were others. And I didn't have you accompany me for free, did I? Wasn't it always me paying?"
Wang Er Biao couldn't believe it. "You, you just wanted someone to play with? Sun Ling, you're going too far!"
Sun Ling walked up to him, tilting her chin slightly. "I'm going too far? Don't you realize the reality yet? We're like clouds and mud. I'm a college student, at least, and what are you? Just a good-for-nothing who idles around all day, stealing and cheating. And you still want to be in a relationship with me? Who gave you the courage to say such a thing?"
She hadn't even agreed when Zhu Zhi pursued her. This Wang Er Biao had neither looks nor family background, and didn't even have a job. Sun Ling found being pursued by someone like him utterly disgusting.
The veins on Wang Er Biao's forehead bulged. He roared, "So you colluded with your cousin to frame me as the scapegoat and then washed your hands of it clean?"
Sun Ling hadn't expected him to find out. She guessed he must have overheard them talking. But it didn't matter; he wasn't an important person anyway.
"Frame you as the scapegoat? Didn't you steal that batch of goods?"
"Why would I steal? You were the one who ordered me to do it!"
Sun Ling retorted, "You do whatever I tell you? Are you that stupid, or are you blaming others?"
His heartfelt devotion was called stupidity by her. Wang Er Biao was completely enraged. His eyes turned crimson as he raised his hand and slapped Sun Ling. "Bitch!"
In his fury, the slap carried immense force. Sun Ling, caught off guard, fell back onto the sofa behind her, clutching her face and looking at Wang Er Biao in disbelief. "Wang Er Biao, how dare you hit me?"
Wang Er Biao regretted the slap as soon as it landed and immediately stepped forward to check on her. "Ling'er, I'm sorry. I was just too angry just now. Are you okay?"
"Wang Er Biao, you scoundrel, get your dirty hands off me! I feel sick just by you touching me. Get out of here now!" Sun Ling shoved him away with a slap and, like a madwoman, began scratching and clawing at him, trying to drive him out.
She had been blind to have chosen this rat to pass the time with, even if she had no one else.
"You find me disgusting?" Sun Ling's look of disgust completely enraged Wang Er Biao.
He had sacrificed so much for her, followed her every command, and was always available. He had even resorted to theft and crime just to please her. Yet, in the end, she didn't even care about him, and even conspired with Jiang Weiguo to pin everything on him.
Women were indeed cheap. The more you indulged them, the less they valued you.
The amount stolen this time was substantial. If he went to prison, he wouldn't get out for years. This woman in front of him was the cause of it all.
Rather than let others benefit, he might as well have his own way first.
Sun Ling scratched at Wang Er Biao a few times. Seeing that he didn't even dodge, but just stared at her with unblinking eyes, she found it somewhat unnerving.
Sun Ling instinctively swallowed. "Wang Er Biao, you..."
Before she could finish her sentence, her vision went black, and she felt a heavy weight on her.
Wang Er Biao grabbed her collar and tore at her clothes with both hands. The two buttons at the neckline instantly popped open.
Sun Ling understood immediately what he intended and became furious, raining punches and kicks on Wang Er Biao. "Wang Er Biao, you unfilial bastard! Have you lost your mind to dare touch me? What kind of thing are you? A toad wanting to eat swan meat, but you don't even look in the mirror to see your own demeanor. No looks, a family poorer than anything, and you dare touch me? Try me, and I'll report you to the police right now!"
Sun Ling's words successfully stopped Wang Er Biao's actions. However, before he could relax, he felt a sharp tug at his scalp. His hair was being grasped tightly by Wang Er Biao.
"I'm not good enough for you? I'm a toad? Today, this toad will show you my power!"
Wang Er Biao spat forcefully onto the ground beside him, his movements showing no mercy.
The strength difference between men and women was already significant. No matter how much Sun Ling struggled, her outer garment was successfully ripped off by Wang Er Biao.
Seeing that he was serious, Sun Ling finally panicked. Seizing an opportunity, she bit down hard on Wang Er Biao's wrist. As he cried out in pain, she kicked him away and stumbled off the sofa, running quickly towards the door. "Help! Someone, help!"
Wang Er Biao reacted swiftly. Ignoring the pain in his wrist, he turned and chased after her.
As Sun Ling's hand reached the doorknob, she felt a sharp pain in her head, followed by darkness. She completely lost consciousness.
When she woke up again, she didn't know what time it was. The sky outside had already darkened. Sun Ling moved to get up, but the pain made her gasp.
Recalling everything that happened before she fainted, she sat up abruptly. The quilt covering her slipped off, revealing large patches of bruises.
Seeing that she was awake, Wang Er Biao stubbed out his cigarette, his voice hoarse. "You're awake?"
Sun Ling looked up sharply, her eyes burning with a desire to tear him apart. Her life had been ruined by this beast.
"You don't have to look at me like that. Since you're my woman now, I'll ask you one last time. If I marry you, will you be willing to be my wife?"
"Dream on! I'm telling you, my parents will be back soon, and I'll report you to the police. Trash like you should stay in prison for life!" Sun Ling frantically grabbed something nearby and threw it at Wang Er Biao, tears streaming down her face.
She had lost the most precious thing a woman could possess. She and Li Zhiwei would never be together again. It was all the fault of this scoundrel.
