Chapter 391: Chapter 320: First Light: 3_2

Lew Yuan is not only the host but also the soul of the program. Without him, the program wouldn’t exist. As he said so, the cameramen naturally turned off their equipment and left.

The producer and Lew Yuan’s assistant came over.

"Brother Lew, it’s getting late. You and Xiao Yun should grab something to eat and then head home to rest. We will arrange for someone to take care of Mr. Zhong here," the producer said.

Lew Yuan said, "Mm, you all should go back to rest early too. But, what about Xiao Bei?"

He said this, making sure to keep his voice down so Xiao Bei wouldn’t hear.

The producer said, "I’ll take him to my place to rest for the night. Tomorrow, I’ll ask Mr. Zhong to see if there are any friends or relatives who can take care of Xiao Bei for a few days."

...

The group found a small eatery near the hospital.

At this time, there weren’t many people on the streets.

Zhou Yun ordered a seaweed and pork rib soup, a serving of xiaolongbao, and ordered the same for Xiao Bei.

Having eaten something, they all felt revived.

Lew Yuan’s assistant took Xiao Bei to buy water. Waiting for Xiao Bei to leave, Zhou Yun turned and asked Lew Yuan, "Does Xiao Bei have someone to take care of him tonight? Leaving him at the hospital isn’t ideal. If it’s inconvenient for others, I can take him home with me to sleep over, and bring him back tomorrow."

Lew Yuan looked at her in surprise and asked, "Would that be convenient for you?"

The producer said, "There’s no need to trouble you; letting Xiao Bei spend the night with me is fine. I’ll bring him to the hospital before work starts tomorrow, and his dad should be awake by tomorrow morning."

"I have to work tomorrow, but I’m free for the next couple of days, so I’ll take Xiao Bei," Zhou Yun said. "It’s not certain whether Mr. Zhong will wake up tomorrow morning or not. I’m worried about leaving such a young child alone."

The producer asked, "Wouldn’t that be a hassle?"

Zhou Yun smiled, waved her hand, and said, "It’s no trouble at all, he’s a good kid."

Lew Yuan said, "Sorry for the inconvenience today, having you run into such a hassle while recording the show."

"It’s no trouble at all. Brother Lew, this program is very meaningful, I actually feel incredibly lucky to have been a part of its recording," Zhou Yun said. "Honestly, even though it was just one day, Mr. Zhong and Xiao Bei have deeply moved me and given me a lot of strength. I truly hope this show will continue for a long time, and I would love to come back and participate again."

Lew Yuan smiled and said, "If you’re willing to record more episodes, we couldn’t ask for more."

Zhou Yun asked, "Would there be a chance? I bet everybody wants to be on your show, how could you be short of guests?"

Lew Yuan said, "For this program, I hope as many friends as possible will participate. I want this program to become known and liked by more and more people."

Zhou Yun nodded, saying, "It’s worth it."

At that moment, Lew Yuan’s assistant returned holding Xiao Bei’s hand.

Zhou Yun said, "Let’s go back and check if Dad has come out of the operating room."

Xiao Bei nodded in agreement.

Lew Yuan’s assistant went to pay the bill.

On the way, Zhou Yun asked Xiao Bei, "Is it okay for you to spend the night at Aunt Xiao Yun’s house tonight?"

Xiao Bei asked, "What about Dad?"

"Dad has to stay in the hospital to recuperate, with doctors and nurses watching over him," Zhou Yun said gently.

"I want to stay by Dad’s side," Xiao Bei said. "He will worry if he wakes up and doesn’t see me."

Xiao Bei’s thoughtfulness made Zhou Yun’s heart soften again.

"But if you stay by Dad’s side tonight, the doctors and nurses will be distracted taking care of you," Zhou Yun persuaded. "You can spend the night at Aunt Xiao Yun’s place, and as soon as you wake up in the morning, I’ll bring you to the hospital to see Dad, okay?"

Xiao Bei listened, his lips pressed tightly together.

Zhou Yun proposed, "How about this? We’ll book a room in a hotel near the hospital. We can rest there and you can see your dad anytime you want."

"Really?" Xiao Bei asked.

"Of course," Zhou Yun said. "Don’t worry; I’ll talk to the doctors and nurses at the hospital later and leave Aunt Xiao Yun’s contact details with them. They will contact us the moment your dad wakes up."

Only then did Xiao Bei hum in agreement, saying, "Thank you, Aunt Xiao Yun."

Zhou Yun sighed in relief, as if a weight had been lifted.

This was Zhou Yun’s first time experiencing the feeling of taking care of a child, and just a conversation already seemed tiring.
