This was a square cavern, surrounded by iron fences. Several night pearls at the top emitted a soft light, illuminating the area below enough for him to make out his surroundings.

It was a closed-off pit, with a dungeon on either side. Thick metal bars sealed the dungeons shut, and through them, Nie Yan could see two huge piles of bones. They must have been dragons in their previous lives, judging by their massive bodies, standing over four yards tall with long, powerful tails.

Not far from this enclosed pit was the Sogote Ancient City's arena. It seemed these two were gladiators who fought there.

As gladiators, they had no freedom. They were merely tools for the nobles to enjoy and play with. When the Sogote Ancient City fell, they were locked in their cages and starved to death, eventually becoming these two piles of bones.

Just as Nie Yan was lost in thought, the two skeletons stirred. They slowly rose from the ground.

"Roar, roar."

The two skeletons emitted angry roars that echoed through the dungeon. Like two enormous beasts, they leaped up and lunged at Nie Yan.

With a loud bang, their bodies crashed against the metal bars, causing them to tremble violently and crack. One of the bars was even bent.

They roared furiously and continued to throw themselves against the metal bars, which gradually bent and warped. Nie Yan felt as if they were about to break free. The metal barrier was rapidly being dismantled.

These dragon gladiators had died with resentment and anger, which made them far more powerful as undead than ordinary undead creatures. Their bones glowed with a dark red, almost metallic sheen.

Nie Yan used Super Appraisal to examine the attributes of these dragon gladiator skeletons.

Skeleton Gladiator: Level 10 Elite, Health 600/600.

They were elite monsters. Their health was relatively low compared to other creatures of the same level, as was common with most skeleton creatures. However, two Level 10 elites were still more than Nie Yan could handle.

The two skeleton gladiators could easily tear Nie Yan apart.

Nie Yan looked up. The pit was too deep; there was practically no way to climb out. The Weaver's Ring couldn't reach that high. There was a door at the front of the dungeon, but it was blocked by thick metal bars and a huge lock. There was no way to smash through a gate made of such thick metal. Nie Yan wasn't a giant beast like the skeleton gladiators!

The skeleton gladiators continued to batter the metal fence, causing it to break and shatter into pieces. The two skeleton gladiators burst out of their dungeons and lunged at Nie Yan.

Being trapped in such a confined space with two Level 10 elites meant certain death.

Two enormous shadows fell over him, revealing solid bones, powerful limbs, and a huge tail covered in spikes. There was no way to defeat them!

Fighting them was out of the question. Nie Yan quickly scanned his skill bar. He had only one hope: Undead Summons!

Undead Summons was Nie Yan's only skill that could save him. With a 20% chance to command an undead creature, life or death depended on this skill.

Since the skeleton gladiators' levels were far higher than Nie Yan's, he couldn't be sure if he could successfully summon them.

The moment the two skeleton gladiators pounced, Nie Yan cast Undead Summons on one of them.

Seeing the system notification, Nie Yan quickly used Gale Step, rolling to the side.

With a loud crash, one of the skeleton gladiator's tails swept through the space where Nie Yan had been standing, kicking up a cloud of dust and cracking the ground.

Since they had pounced on Nie Yan at the same time, the two skeleton gladiators collided, stumbling back several steps.

Nie Yan rolled out from under the skeleton gladiators' feet, barely managing to steady himself.

Having missed their attack, the green flames in the eye sockets of the two skeletons flickered. They scanned the area and finally locked onto Nie Yan, who had retreated to a corner.

One of the skeleton gladiators raised its right foot and stomped down on Nie Yan.

Nie Yan quickly dodged.

With a loud crash, a deep footprint was left on the ground.

The other skeleton gladiator also raised its foot to stomp on Nie Yan.

If either of the skeleton gladiators' attacks connected, Nie Yan would probably be left with only half his health. Fortunately, the area was relatively narrow, which hindered the skeleton gladiators' movements and lowered their attack frequency. He could barely manage to evade them. But if he continued to drag this out, Nie Yan probably wouldn't have a chance to survive.

Undead Summons!

System: You cast Undead Summons on the Skeleton Gladiator, Health -30%.

System: Skill cast failed!

After three consecutive failures, Nie Yan only had 10% of his health left. He ran to evade the attacks, drinking a slow health regeneration potion while bandaging himself.

After glancing at his health, which had recovered to 52%, Nie Yan cast Undead Summons again.

The two skeleton gladiators pounced on Nie Yan at the same time.

Nie Yan felt something in his mind turn into a mysterious object that floated into the air and disappeared into the body of one of the skeleton gladiators.

After the Undead Summons was completed, Nie Yan rolled away to dodge.

With a loud crash, the two skeleton gladiators collided, knocked each other away, retreated a short distance, and paused.

Nie Yan retreated to the side, staring intently at the skeleton gladiator he had cast Undead Summons on.

Was it a success? What was the result?

Nie Yan had little hope of successfully summoning the skeleton gladiator. After all, the skeleton gladiator's level was too high. He wasn't even sure if he had succeeded just now. This might be his only chance, and if he missed it, it would be gone.

The two skeleton gladiators and Nie Yan stood in a triangle formation in this rather narrow dungeon.

The two skeleton gladiators stared at each other.

Time seemed to flow back to the glorious era of Sogote, to the bloody arena, where gladiators collided with each other, and blood splattered across the field, creating a spectacular and tragic crimson scene.

The skeleton gladiator that had been targeted by Undead Summons stood there blankly, the light in its eyes dim and unclear, as if it was being pulled by something. It moved slightly, as if trying to break free from some kind of restraint.

"May the gods protect me. It should be successful, right?" Nie Yan didn't believe in gods, but in faith, there seemed to be a belief in gods. At this moment, Nie Yan was devout, like a pilgrim.

The skeleton gladiator that had not been targeted by Undead Summons moved, leaping up and pouncing on Nie Yan.

It was driving Nie Yan into a dead end.

Just as the skeleton gladiator leaped into the air, the other skeleton gladiator, the one targeted by Undead Summons, crashed into it sideways. With a loud crash, the two behemoths collided, and the skeleton gladiator that was about to attack Nie Yan was knocked away.

Perhaps Nie Yan's prayers had been heard by the gods. Nie Yan's Undead Summons had unexpectedly succeeded.

The skeleton gladiator that had been targeted by Undead Summons was covered in a layer of black luster, shiny and bright, with an overall dark red tone, like a huge metal beast filled with violent, rampaging power.

System: Please name the undead you have commanded.

Nie Yan thought for a moment and named the skeleton gladiator he had commanded the Dark Gladiator, a name that seemed more fitting.

After the Dark Gladiator was successfully commanded by Undead Summons, its attributes actually increased by 10%. The already incredibly powerful Dark Gladiator was now even more invincible. The only drawback was that it could only exist in the world for three hours. After three hours, it would be destroyed by Undead Summons.

It was hard to imagine that he now possessed such a terrifying summoned creature.
