Chapter 406 Fear and Dread

The Kang Long Jian heavily smashed onto the forehead of a Divine Religion apostle.

"Crack~"

With the sound of a skull shattering, the Divine Religion apostle fell to the ground.

Yu Daohen let out a long sigh, secretly marveling at how domineering the Kang Long Jian's "must break on impact" setting truly was.

At the same time, the long swords wielded by the other two apostles had already arrived before Yu Daohen.

Yu Daohen reacted swiftly, once again swinging the Kang Long Jian, channeling energy into it and rotating the pulley to slash at one of the apostles, muttering, "Break!"

This apostle, clearly having been prepared for the previous situation, retreated instantly the moment his long sword broke.

Yu Daohen didn't hesitate, sidestepping to the right to evade the long sword swung by another apostle, while simultaneously condensing the Di Kun Hand and thrusting it towards the apostle's heart.

Seeing this, the apostle retreated, dodging the Di Kun Hand.

Yu Daohen, seeing his attack dodged, immediately raised his palm and attacked the apostle's jaw.

Although the apostle tried his best to dodge, he was still a beat too slow. Yu Daohen's strike directly blinded one of his eyes.

Blood immediately gushed from the eye, effectively disfiguring him.

Yu Daohen cursed inwardly, surprised that he hadn't killed the fellow.

"As expected of a master with Heavenly Ranking caliber," he thought. "He dodged that even with such a blow. For an ordinary person, this strike would have pierced their heart. However, with one eye gone, his strength is greatly diminished."

Just as Yu Daohen was about to press his advantage and finish off these two, he saw more Divine Religion apostles pursuing from behind.

Yu Daohen had no choice but to turn and flee. He could handle two or three of them, but over ten at once was indeed troublesome. Although he might be able to deal with them using his Nine Lives Reincarnation Eyes and Ghost Horn power, he would undoubtedly suffer losses.

"I don't do losing business. That's my principle!"

Yu Daohen turned and ran in the direction Zhou Fu and the other person had fled.

Meanwhile, Zhou Fu was leading the disciple down a small path.

The disciple was named Ma Jie, a disciple from a third-rate sect.

Ma Jie, panting heavily, leaned against a nearby large tree and said, "Brother Zhou, let's rest for a moment. We can wait for Master Yu. If we encounter anyone from the Divine Religion on our own, we won't have any chance to fight back."

Zhou Fu nodded. "Alright, let's rest for a bit and wait for my master to arrive."

Zhou Fu was also worried about Yu Daohen. If his strength were sufficient, he would have already turned back.

Seeing Zhou Fu agree, Ma Jie sat down on the ground, wiping the sweat from his cheeks.

"Brother Zhou, I really envy you for having such a strong master," Ma Jie said enviously.

The sect Ma Jie belonged to was a small, third-rate force. The only experts with Heavenly Ranking strength were the sect leader and two martial uncles.

Zhou Fu's face showed pride. Being the sect leader's last disciple was the most prideful thing in his life.

After resting for a while and seeing that Yu Daohen hadn't caught up, Ma Jie stood up and dusted off his pants. "Why don't we walk slowly? Staying still makes us easy to find."

Although Zhou Fu wanted to wait for his master to arrive before moving, the current situation didn't allow them to linger in one spot for too long.

"It seems that's the only way now," Zhou Fu nodded and led Ma Jie to continue their journey.

Suddenly, a figure flashed past behind Ma Jie.

Ma Jie sensed something flash behind him. As he turned to look, a bone-deep pain shot through his leg, causing Ma Jie to scream.

"Ahhhhhh!!"

Ma Jie collapsed to the ground, looking at his left leg.

His left leg from the thigh down had been cleanly severed. Blood gushed out, dyeing the surrounding ground red, and the air was filled with the腥味 of blood.

Zhou Fu turned to look and was so terrified by the shocking scene that his face turned pale, and his legs trembled uncontrollably.

Everything happened too quickly; Zhou Fu hadn't even seen the enemy.

Fear and terror filled Zhou Fu's mind. He had only one thought.

Escape!!

Ma Jie was on the verge of fainting from the pain, screaming hoarsely, "My leg! My leg!!"

Zhou Fu, stunned by the scene, heard Ma Jie's heart-wrenching screams and snapped back to reality. He grabbed Ma Jie's outstretched hand and fled forward madly.

When faced with danger, humans instinctively flee. At this moment, Zhou Fu had no other thought but one word.

Run!!

On a large tree next to Zhou Fu and Ma Jie, a figure was watching the terrified expressions of the two below with great interest, a smile of excitement on his face.

Zhou Fu ran desperately forward. Ma Jie's screams from behind grew fainter and then suddenly stopped.

Zhou Fu instinctively turned to look, only to see that what he was pulling was not Ma Jie, but a hand – precisely, Ma Jie's severed hand.

Blood was still oozing from the cut end of the severed limb.

Zhou Fu was so shocked he couldn't speak. He looked up behind him.

About five or six meters away, Ma Jie lay sprawled on the ground, clearly dead.

"Not enough. That expression isn't fearful enough."

From behind the large tree next to Ma Jie, a figure slowly emerged, a sinister smile on his face. "If I were to lop off one of your legs, would the fear on your face be richer?"
