Chapter 20 The arrival of the Divine Religion

In the early morning, the sky had completely brightened. Xu Yaya walked out of the house and into the front shop.

Seeing Yu Daohang sleeping in the rocking chair, she gently kissed his lips: "I am yours, no matter what happens, I will accompany you."

After an unknown amount of time, a fragrance woke Yu Daohang from his dream. He groggily opened his eyes to find Xu Yaya had already prepared the meal and placed it on the table.

Getting up from the rocking chair, Xu Yaya filled a bowl with rice and placed it on the table, smiling. "Brother Yu, you're up so punctually."

Yu Daohang rubbed his eyes and yawned, "Does that even need to be said? Look at who made the food."

Yu Daohang sat down. Before he could even take a bite of rice, a figure walked in. Xu Yaya's face lit up with a smile, and she said happily, "Dad, you're back!"

Yu Daohang turned his head and saw the clothes and pants that hadn't been changed in a hundred years, and the hair that hadn't been cut in who knows how long. It was none other than Xu Yaya's father, Xu Gensheng.

Xu Gensheng sat down, and Xu Yaya went to the kitchen in the backyard to get bowls.

Yu Daohang looked at the haggard Xu Gensheng and asked, "Old Xu, you look like you haven't slept in three days. Did something happen?"

Xu Gensheng shook his head and sighed, "I heard you're helping Biao Tao protect someone?"

Yu Daohang nodded. Xu Gensheng continued to ask, "Is it related to the Divine Cult?"

Yu Daohang was slightly surprised and nodded, asking, "How did you know?"

Xu Gensheng recounted the entire story of encountering the Divine Cult.

Four days ago, Xu Gensheng went to Yangzhou. On the third night in Yangzhou, he discovered people from the Divine Cult and followed them. Just last night, Director Chen of the Yangzhou Supernatural Bureau and his entire family were murdered, their bodies hanging in the living room.

Yu Daohang's expression turned solemn, his heart filled with unease. "How strong is that Shen Tianming?"

Xu Gensheng glanced outside the door. "The Northeast Heavenly Immortals bow their heads before the Divine Being at the three hundred thousand mark."

It was rumored that there were as many as three hundred thousand Heavenly Immortals in the Northeast. Those who could venture into the Northeast alone and leave safely were probably no more than three people in this world.

Seeing Xu Yaya come over with the bowls and chopsticks, Yu Daohang swallowed the words that were about to be spoken.

The three had just finished lunch. As Xu Yaya was preparing to clear the dishes, a black Audi stopped in front of the shop. Yu Daohang craned his neck to look outside. He saw a man get out of the Audi, his face oily and constantly smiling. The man walked into the shop and said with a smile, "Master Yu, still eating?"

Yu Daohang looked at Zhou Dafa. Compared to his previous emaciated appearance, he now seemed a bit plump, and the dark circles under his eyes had completely disappeared. "Your health has recovered well."

Zhou Dafa rubbed the back of his head with a smile. "It's all thanks to you, Master Yu."

Yu Daohang nodded. Zhou Dafa took a piece of paper from his document bag and placed it on the table, explaining, "I promised to give you a Western restaurant before, and all the procedures are now complete. If you like the shop in Yangzhou, you just need to sign it."

Yu Daohang nodded and pointed to Xu Yaya, who was clearing the dishes. "Let her choose."

Xu Yaya turned to look at Yu Daohang, puzzled. "Why should I choose?"

"This shop will be yours from now on," Yu Daohang said, glancing at Xu Yaya.

Xu Yaya's face lit up with joy and excitement. "Really?"

Yu Daohang nodded. "But you won't come to the shop for the next three months. And postpone your transfer to Jiangdu for now."

Xu Yaya froze for a moment, unable to comprehend. She anxiously asked, "Why? Why?"

Yu Daohang's brow furrowed. He wanted to explain but couldn't let Xu Yaya know about this. Fortunately, Xu Gensheng, who had been standing by, spoke up and reprimanded her, "Be obedient, don't make a fuss."

Xu Yaya, scolded like this, felt wronged and remained silent. Seeing this, Zhou Dafa changed the subject. "Then let's go take a look at the shop first."

Yu Daohang nodded. Zhou Dafa led Xu Gensheng and Xu Yaya towards the car. As Xu Yaya reached the doorway, she turned to look at Yu Daohang and smiled. "Brother Yu, take good care of yourself!" With that, she walked towards the car.

Watching Xu Yaya get into the car, Yu Daohang shook his head helplessly, his heart filled with mixed emotions. It seemed even his last trump card was gone.

The reason Yu Daohang ranked first on the Earthly Ranking, besides the Five Elements Technique and the Kang Long Mace, was his left eye, the Nine Reincarnations Eye.

After tidying up the dishes and closing the shop, he lay down on the rocking chair and fell asleep.

The night dyed the old street black. Two figures were running continuously, one of them with a pale face.

*Dong, dong, dong.* A knock on the door startled Yu Daohang, followed by a man's urgent voice: "Master Yu, it's me, Old Biao."

Hearing that it was Biao Tao, Yu Daohang finally relaxed and pulled open the shop door. He saw Biao Tao drenched in sweat, with three five-centimeter-long wounds on his left arm, as if scratched by a fierce beast. Blood was gushing out uncontrollably, and the flesh underneath was clearly visible.

Following behind him was a woman with long golden hair, her face ashen, her forehead covered in sweat, and she was panting heavily.

Yu Daohang helped Biao Tao to a chair. The woman held Biao Tao's arm and asked, "Mr. Fat, are you all right?"

Biao Tao nodded and replied in fluent English, "Miss Elaine, I'm fine."

Yu Daohang was bewildered. When he scanned Biao Tao's arm, his brow furrowed. The bleeding wounds were beginning to turn black.

Seeing Yu Daohang staring at his arm, Biao Tao turned his head to look at his arm and nodded. "That guy had immense strength, I couldn't block him at all."

Yu Daohang said nothing but walked directly towards the backyard. Elaine, standing beside him, watched Yu Daohang head to the backyard and asked, "Mr. Fat, is that what you call Yu Ye?"

Biao Tao nodded. "Jiangdu Yu Daohang, Yu Ye."

Elaine nodded in confusion. "But he doesn't look old?"

"In China, the word 'Ye' can represent status in addition to age," Biao Tao explained.

Elaine nodded and looked at the wounds on Biao Tao's arm.

A moment later, Yu Daohang came out from the backyard with a bowl of water. He approached Biao Tao. Seeing the water in Yu Daohang's bowl, Biao Tao nodded and lifted his arm, rolling up his sleeve.

Yu Daohang glanced at the completely blackened wounds and poured the bowl of water onto them. As the water touched the wounds, a puff of black smoke emerged, startling Elaine, who took a step back.

Yu Daohang turned to look outside, his eyes turning cold. "They're here!"
