The entangled vengeful spirit, seeing Yu Daohen unable to move with his hands fixed on the green flag, grinned eerily. Yu Daohen felt a tightening in his back as a hand reached for his head. He dodged to the left, feeling a gash appear on his neck.
The female corpse intended to strike again. Yu Daohen's eyes narrowed slightly, and he uttered, "Shui Kan Jing."
As soon as the words left his lips, a faint ripple of water formed beneath his feet, enveloping him. The moment the female corpse touched the water, it was repelled as if by an electric shock. Seeing the female corpse flung away, the vengeful spirit gnashed its teeth and charged directly at Yu Daohen.
Yu Daohen's lips curved upwards. He stood up, grabbed the vengeful spirit's attacking hand, and flung it away with force.
The vengeful spirit was thrown out of the door. Yu Daohen pressed his advantage, stepping forward, grabbing the female corpse's face, and slamming it to the ground before kicking it forcefully out of the door.
As Yu Daohen walked out, he kicked the plastic bag containing incense ash by the doorway, scattering the ashes across the ground.
The vengeful spirit glared at Yu Daohen. Yu Daohen walked to the door and shut it behind him. He felt a coolness on his neck, and upon touching it, realized he had been cut by the female corpse earlier.
The vengeful spirit walked to the female corpse and burrowed into it. Its once large belly began to shrink, its eyeballs turned blood red, and black smoke billowed from them. Yu Daohen untied the black cloth-wrapped object from his lower back and thrust it into the earth. "I've been acting like a grandson for too long, I almost forgot I'm the grandfather."
The vengeful spirit and the female corpse merged into one. Seeing this, Yu Daohen pushed off with his feet and charged forward, landing a punch on the female corpse. The female corpse staggered back, and Yu Daohen grabbed it, pulling it back, and delivered another heavy punch to its side.
The female corpse retreated, and Yu Daohen grabbed it again, delivering a heavy punch to its face. However, his fist was blocked a few centimeters from the female corpse's face. Just as Yu Daohen was about to throw another punch, a strong gust of wind hit him, followed by a sharp pain in his left eye.
Yu Daohen shook his head, and before he could recover, another punch landed on his left cheek. Yu Daohen stumbled back several steps and fell to the ground.
Yu Daohen got back on his feet, feeling that his left eye could still see. He grinned and shouted, "Come again!"
With that, he charged at the female corpse. The man and the ghost were like boxers in a ring, trading blows. Soon, the female corpse was beaten beyond recognition, while Yu Daohen's face was bruised and swollen, blood trickling from his mouth.
The female corpse landed another punch on Yu Daohen's face. Yu Daohen retreated. The female corpse glared at Yu Daohen, wishing she could devour him alive. "All these years of effort are wasted. I will kill you."
As she spoke, sharp claws grew from her fingers, emitting black mist. Yu Daohen retreated towards the black cloth-wrapped object. Just as the female corpse charged, Yu Daohen pulled out the object, unwrapped the black cloth, and revealed a weapon with no blade, only a blunt tip and four edges, before the female corpse.
Yu Daohen gripped the weapon and swung it forcefully. The charging female corpse had an arm severed. The female corpse retreated, gazing at the weapon in Yu Daohen's hand with terror. "How did the Kang Long Jian end up with you?"
The Kang Long Jian, a weapon that instilled primal fear in all evil spirits in the world.
The female corpse turned to flee, but Yu Daohen swung his arm back. The Kang Long Jian flew out, piercing the female corpse's heart. Before the vengeful spirit could even scream, it was annihilated, leaving only an empty shell.
Yu Daohen walked over, picked up the Kang Long Jian from the ground, glanced at the empty shell, and muttered, "I should have used the Kang Long Jian earlier. Why was I showing off?"
With that, he walked to the steps, sat down, and lay back, taking a deep breath. Exhaustion washed over him, and he fell asleep.
"Master, Master..."
"Master Yu, Master Yu..."
Yu Daohen groggily opened his eyes and saw Zhou Sixin, Zhou Dafa, and Zhang Xiaoqiang all looking at him. Zhang Xiaoqiang helped him up. Yu Daohen raised his arm and felt soreness all over. Zhang Xiaoqiang looked at the bruised and swollen Yu Daohen. "Master Yu, how did you get so injured?"
Yu Daohen remembered the battle with the vengeful spirit last night and cursed. "Qiangzi, where the hell did you chase to last night?"
"I chased for a distance last night and realized it was a trap. By the time I wanted to rush back, I was caught in that ghost's scheme," Zhang Xiaoqiang said, scratching his head.
Yu Daohen sighed. "Did you catch that ghost?"
Zhang Xiaoqiang took out a small porcelain bottle and shook it. "It's inside."
Yu Daohen nodded. Zhang Xiaoqiang walked to the female corpse, took out a yellow talisman, chanted an incantation, and threw it onto the female corpse. The female corpse instantly burst into flames.
Zhou Sixin helped bandage the wound on Yu Daohen's neck. After lunch at Zhou Dafa's place, Zhang Xiaoqiang said he had something to do and left. Yu Daohen packed his things. He had intended to leave on his own, but Zhou Dafa insisted on driving him, and he eventually agreed.
Yu Daohen waited at the door. The car was driven over. Yu Daohen opened the car door and got in, only to realize it wasn't Zhou Dafa but Zhou Sixin. Seeing Yu Daohen get in, Zhou Sixin pressed a button, and the car doors locked.
There was silence throughout the ride. Yu Daohen rolled down the window, enjoying the feeling of the breeze on his face. Zhou Sixin looked at the boy in front of him. He was at an age where he should be enjoying his youth at school, but instead, he was doing a life-threatening job.
Zhou Sixin handed Yu Daohen a bottle of water. "Master, don't you want to experience campus life?"
Yu Daohen took the water, unscrewed the cap, and took two sips. He looked out the window and shook his head. "I still prefer being alone."
The car soon arrived at the shop. Yu Daohen got out and took a key from his pocket, inserting it into the lock and turning it. Just as he was about to push the door open, he felt a firm grab on his backside. Zhou Sixin leaned into Yu Daohen's ear and whispered, "If you weren't injured, I would have dealt with you in the car."
With that, she blew a puff of hot air into Yu Daohen's ear and turned to walk towards her car. Yu Daohen stared at Zhou Sixin, who was getting into her car, his face darkened. The lobes of his ears had clearly turned red.
Yu Daohen pushed open the shop door and heard a cat's meow. He glanced around and saw a small white cat staring intently at him from under the table. Yu Daohen smiled slightly, squatted down, and called out a few times. The small white cat ran over, and Yu Daohen scooped it into his arms, stroking its back. "Are you looking for something to eat?"
"Master Yu, where have you been again?" a middle-aged man's voice came from outside the door.
