Yu Daochen grabbed Yuan Jian’s leg and pushed him back, sending Yuan Jian stumbling several meters back, nearly falling.
Just as Yuan Jian was about to attack again, Yu Daochen lunged forward first.
Yu Daochen’s palm transformed into a tiger’s claw, aiming directly for Yuan Jian’s throat.
Yuan Jian’s expression changed, and he dodged to the side. Yu Daochen’s tiger claw grazed past his throat.
Yuan Jian could clearly feel a surge of energy brushing against his throat. He was simultaneously impressed by Yu Daochen’s speed. If he had been a fraction slower, his throat would have been seized by now.
Yu Daochen grinned and immediately clenched his fist, smashing towards Yuan Jian’s face.
Yuan Jian reacted instantly, raising his hand to block Yu Daochen’s incoming punch.
At the moment Yu Daochen’s fist was only two centimeters from Yuan Jian’s face, it stopped abruptly. The gust of wind from the punch ruffled Yuan Jian’s hair.
Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh.
Yuan Jian gasped for breath, sweat trickling down his cheeks and dripping onto the ground.
So fast!
Yuan Jian’s heart was still pounding. Yu Daochen’s punch had been incredibly swift. By the time he registered it, Yu Daochen’s fist was merely two centimeters from his face.
Is this the strength of the number one on the Earth Ranking? It’s truly terrifying.
Yu Daochen slowly lowered his fist, a faint smile on his face. "How is it, kid? Enough for you?"
Yuan Jian nodded, his arrogant demeanor vanishing. "Master Yu, I yield."
Yu Daochen grunted and turned to face the onlookers. "Is there anyone else who wishes to seek guidance? Feel free to come forward and try."
The crowd remained silent. Yuan Jian’s earlier experience was a vivid example, and no one dared to step forward now.
Yu Daochen nodded in satisfaction. "Since there’s no one else, everyone may disperse. Remember to report here daily."
Seeing everyone nod, Yu Daochen turned and walked back into the shop.
Only after Yu Daochen had returned to the shop did the crowd dare to speak. "Damn, Master Yu’s speed is too incredible! I couldn’t even see him punch just now."
"Me neither, me neither," a disciple beside him chimed in.
"So, Brother Yuan, what do you think of Master Yu’s strength?" Luo Xuan asked with a grin, walking up to Yuan Jian.
Luo Xuan and Yuan Jian had introduced themselves earlier and were acquainted.
Yuan Jian shook his head and sighed. "We’re not even in the same league. A complete defeat!"
Yuan Jian wasn’t particularly resentful. After all, Yu Daochen was the renowned Master Yu of the martial world. Losing to him was only natural and not particularly shameful.
Listening to their conversation, Su Hui looked at her senior brother Xie Banghu and asked curiously, "Senior Brother, is Master Yu’s strength really that terrifying?"
Xie Banghu nodded affirmatively. "Brother Qiangzi’s strength is likely unrivaled among the younger generation."
Su Hui nodded. Although Brother Qiangzi had joined the sect many years before them, he was undefeated among the younger disciples and had long ago ranked thirty-seventh on the Earth Ranking.
"What if I told you Master Yu could defeat Brother Qiangzi with ease?" Xie Banghu said with conviction.
Su Hui found it hard to believe. Brother Qiangzi’s strength was comparable to that of the previous generation of disciples in the sect, and Master Yu could defeat him so easily.
As Su Hui pondered this, Luo Xuan led Yuan Jian over to Su Hui and Xie Banghu. "Brother Xie and Junior Sister Su, why don't you travel with us? We can look out for each other."
Xie Banghu waved his hand. "Thank you for your kind offer, Brother Luo. However, my junior sister and I have other matters to attend to, so we won't be joining you."
Luo Xuan nodded and left the Midnight Spirit Shop with Yuan Jian.
A moment later, only Su Hui and Xie Banghu remained at the entrance of the Midnight Spirit Shop.
Seeing that everyone else had left, Xie Banghu led Su Hui into the shop.
Yu Daochen smiled faintly as he saw them enter. "You two must be Qiangzi’s junior brother and sister."
Su Hui nodded. Xie Banghu began to introduce himself and his junior sister. "I am Xie Banghu, and this is my junior sister, Su Hui."
Yu Daochen nodded. "Qiangzi has already instructed me to take good care of you. How about this, jot down my number and WeChat. I can't promise anything else, but in Jiangdu, no one will dare to touch you on my turf."
Xie Banghu and Su Hui believed Yu Daochen had the capability, as the Midnight Spirit Shop was considered the safest place, second only to the Celestial Master’s Mansion and the Ten Thousand Buddha Temple.
After adding each other on WeChat and exchanging numbers, Xie Banghu and Su Hui chatted with Yu Daochen for a few more moments before leaving the Midnight Spirit Shop.
"Sigh, do you think a ghost king might come to Jiangdu?" Yu Daochen turned to look towards the backyard.
After a moment, a voice replied from the backyard. "Perhaps. If there is one, he wouldn't just sit idly by."
Yu Daochen recalled the man in black he had encountered two days prior. "Are you talking about Liu Feng?"
There was no further response from the backyard. After a pause, Qin Muyu walked out from the backyard. "Did you remember something?"
Yu Daochen shook his head. "No. I met him two days ago, and learned his name from him."
Qin Muyu snorted and said nothing. Didn't this guy say he wouldn't interact with her?
Why was he suddenly telling her his name?
