"Have you decided to merge with this ghost horn?" Ru Ye asked.
Yu Daohen shook his head, "We'll talk about it later. This thing is extremely strange. I'll consider it when I have no other choice."
As Yu Daohen spoke, he picked up two items and went to the drawer, placing them into two empty compartments.
He wasn't at the end of his rope now, so there was no need to take such a risk. Fear of death was a natural human instinct, and he was no exception.
Just as Yu Daohen finished putting the two items into the drawer, the shop door was suddenly knocked.
Yu Daohen turned to look at the shop door. Ru Ye also transformed into a wisp of white smoke and floated into the jade pendant.
Yu Daohen walked over and pulled open the shop door. He saw Su Hui and Xie Banghu with rather grim expressions.
"Master Yu, we've encountered a fierce ghost and can't quite handle it. We'd like to ask you to take a look," Xie Banghu spoke first.
Yu Daohen looked at the two of them. A fierce ghost, wasn't that a simple task? However, he then thought that they were just starting out in slaying evil spirits, so it was understandable that they couldn't handle a fierce ghost.
"Come in and sit down for a chat," Yu Daohen said, leading them to the tea table.
Yu Daohen brewed two cups of tea and served them. "Tell me what happened first."
Su Hui glanced at Xie Banghu beside her.
Xie Banghu began to recount, "My junior sister and I discovered a fierce ghost in a village that was harming people. We originally intended to deal with it directly, but our strength was insufficient, so we called upon disciples from other sects to help us eliminate it. However, that fellow was too powerful and hid in a room, refusing to come out. We couldn't defeat it when we went in, so we had to come to you for help, Master Yu."
Yu Daohen nodded. A fierce ghost wasn't too strong, but hiding inside a house did make it difficult to deal with. Moreover, these were all green recruits. "Were there any casualties?"
Su Hui shook her head, "No. That evil spirit hid in the room and refused to come out. Two disciples from other sects went in and were both beaten back, but they weren't seriously injured."
Yu Daohen nodded. "Alright, take me there first."
Xie Banghu nodded, and the two of them prepared to take Yu Daohen to the village.
Yu Daohen grabbed the Kang Long Jian and the jade pendant from the table and followed the two out of the shop.
Getting into a taxi with them, Xie Banghu said, "Driver, to the rural area we went to last time."
"Okay, please sit tight," the taxi driver said, accelerating.
Upon hearing the voice, Yu Daohen suddenly felt a sense of familiarity.
Yu Daohen looked at the rearview mirror. Wasn't this the same person he and Qiangzi had scared? How did they meet again?
"When fate calls, you can't stop it."
The taxi driver also looked back at Yu Daohen in the rear-view mirror.
The smile on his face instantly vanished, replaced by an expression of extreme displeasure, as if he had just eaten a mouthful of shit.
"Damn it, this damned fate. How did I meet this gentleman again?"
Yu Daohen gave a wry smile, knowing that this fellow must be cursing him silently.
Xie Banghu, in the passenger seat, saw the driver's displeased expression and asked curiously, "Driver, what's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"
The driver shook his head, trying to force a smile but failing to produce any. He didn't dare to ease up on the accelerator.
Yu Daohen chuckled inwardly, realizing he had left quite an impression on the driver.
The journey was filled with conversation and laughter among the three, except for the taxi driver, who was sweating profusely.
Before long, the taxi arrived at a house and stopped.
The three got out. Xie Banghu took out two hundred yuan and handed it to the driver. "Here's the fare, driver."
The driver shook his head, still unable to muster a smile. "Fifty yuan, fifty yuan is fine."
Xie Banghu was bewildered. "Driver, wasn't it two hundred yuan last time? Why only fifty?"
"Just fifty yuan," the taxi driver said with a face like a bitter gourd.
"Driver, are you sure you haven't made a mistake?" Xie Banghu asked again.
The taxi driver was almost crying inwardly.
"Brother, please, don't ask anymore. Isn't fifty yuan good enough?"
Xie Banghu was confused. When he was in the sect, Senior Brother Qiangzi had told him not to take advantage of others.
As Xie Banghu was about to hand over more money, the taxi driver suddenly stepped on the accelerator, turned the car around abruptly, and sped away, leaving a bewildered Xie Banghu and Su Hui behind.
Xie Banghu looked at Su Hui with a dumbfounded expression. Su Hui also shook her head, equally confused.
Yu Daohen, standing beside them, couldn't help but laugh, then sighed helplessly.
As Yu Daohen followed Xie Banghu and Su Hui into the house, he saw more than ten people sitting inside, mostly disciples from other sects. Only the male owner of the house was present.
Yu Daohen walked forward. Upon seeing him arrive, the disciples from other sects greeted him in unison.
"Master Yu."
"Master Yu."
"Master Yu."
"Master Yu."
Yu Daohen grunted and nodded. The owner of the house, seeing everyone's respectful demeanor towards the young man, stepped forward and offered Yu Daohen a cigarette.
Yu Daohen waved his hand. "I don't smoke."
The owner of the house looked a bit embarrassed. "Master, the unclean thing upstairs..."
Before the owner could finish, Yu Daohen nodded. "I've heard about it. Don't worry, I will help you resolve the unclean thing inside."
The owner of the house was filled with gratitude. If Xie Banghu and Su Hui hadn't arrived in time, his family would have been dead by now.
