Chapter 146 The Madman Burns

Yu Daochen, standing nearby, ignored the conversation between Pan Lun and the other man, his gaze fixed on the middle-aged man who had emerged with Fen Yue.

Their eyes met. Yu Daochen could tell this man was no ordinary individual.

Fen Yue then surveyed the others. Upon seeing Yu Daochen, his expression shifted, followed by excitement. "Yu Ye?"

Yu Daochen, hearing himself addressed, turned his head.

Fen Yue quickly pulled out his phone. After confirming it was indeed Yu Daochen, he nearly leaped two meters into the air with excitement. "It really is Yu Ye!"

Yu Daochen nodded with a hint of confusion. "If there isn't another Yu Ye in the martial world, then it must be me."

As if encountering a celebrity, Fen Yue hopped and skipped around Yu Daochen, scrutinizing him closely.

"Yu Ye, I've heard your legends! A year ago, you fought Huang Yong, ranked eighth on the Black List, to a draw. Your name was immortalized in that battle. During the Nanyang Village incident, you single-handedly dominated, and no one could get within half a step of you. You're an idol among the younger generation!" Fen Yue's excitement grew with each word.

Yu Daochen took two steps back, quickly cutting him off. "Stop, stop, stop. Who are you?"

Fen Yue finally remembered he hadn't introduced himself. "My name is Fen Yue, a disciple of the Fu Sect."

"Fen Yue?"

Hearing the name, Yu Daochen curiously sized up the young man before him.

Fen Yue was someone he had heard of – a super genius of the Fu Sect, rarely seen in a century. Although not ranked on the Earthly List, rumors said he could contend with masters on the Heavenly List, his talent no less than that of Sheng Zhu Wang Ming of the Ten Thousand Buddha Mountain Temple.

"Alright, let's go," the middle-aged man by the trees interrupted Fen Yue, who was still eager to speak.

Fen Yue glanced at the middle-aged man, his smile vanishing instantly. "Yu Ye, we'll be going now."

Yu Daochen nodded and watched them leave, his expression turning serious. Despite Fen Yue's admiring gaze, a hint of killing intent could not be concealed.

Fen Yue also had another moniker: Fen the Madman!

Legend had it that his attacks were brutal, resulting in death or crippling injury. Though he rarely fought, he had never lost.

Wang Fei watched Fen Yue and the man walk towards the woods, his eyes turning cold. These two were likely here for the Spirit Spring as well. Moreover, they seemed to know Yu Daochen. It would be best to strike first and eliminate them.

As he thought this, Wang Fei ordered his two subordinates, "Go, take care of them."

The two subordinates nodded, chambered their guns, and followed.

Pan Lun, observing their actions, understood their intentions.

Pan Lun sidled up to Yu Daochen and sighed softly, "Alas, two more to give us experience."

Yu Daochen, however, seemed pleased. "Isn't that better? Fewer enemies."

Pan Lun nodded. "That's true."

Yu Daochen's original plan was to part ways with Yuan Jiuan and the others upon reaching Yin Chen Valley. Whether Yuan Jiuan was here for the Spirit Spring or not, Yu Daochen wasn't overly concerned. His current worry was whether Fen Yue and his companions were also after the Spirit Spring.

In the woods, Fen Yue and the man walked on.

"Yu Daochen's talent is on par with any of the younger generation," the middle-aged man remarked.

Fen Yue's face lit up with excitement, a strange smile playing on his lips. "Is this the legendary peerless prodigy, Yu Daochen? I want to fight him! To see how strong this so-called peerless prodigy truly is!"

"Someone's coming," the middle-aged man stopped, his expression shifting slightly.

Fen Yue let out a strange chuckle. "Leave him to me. I feel like killing!"

Seeing Fen Yue's demeanor, the man said nothing and continued forward. "I won't wait for you."

Fen Yue remained silent but turned and walked back.

Wang Fei's two subordinates caught up. Seeing only Fen Yue walking towards them, they burst into laughter and immediately raised their guns to aim at him. One of them sneered, "Kid, it can't be helped. This year, we have to send you to see the King of Hell."

Fen Yue chuckled strangely. "I'm the one who usually says that to others. No one has ever said it to me before."

One subordinate snorted and pulled the trigger.

Bang bang bang.

Bullets flew, but Fen Yue didn't dodge.

Seeing Fen Yue make no attempt to evade, Wang Fei's two subordinates laughed, thinking him an idiot. To their surprise, the bullets passed through Fen Yue's body. Fen Yue quickly transformed into a yellow paper effigy and fell to the ground.

Wang Fei's two subordinates were stunned, utterly bewildered. As they prepared to look around,

Suddenly, Fen Yue darted out from behind a large tree. His fist sliced through the air, striking one of the men directly in the eye.

Blood spurted from the assaulted subordinate's eye. Fen Yue swiftly produced a talisman and stuck it to the man's forehead.

The other subordinate had just reacted when Fen Yue, using a peculiar footwork, circled around him and delivered an elbow strike followed by a knee to his stomach.

The subordinate's face contorted, and he spat out a mouthful of bile. Fen Yue again produced a talisman and stuck it to his forehead.

Having finished, Fen Yue stopped attacking and turned to walk in the man's direction.

Wang Fei's two subordinates recovered and raised their guns, ready to fire. Fen Yue stopped, without looking back, and lightly snapped his fingers.

*Pfft~*

The heads of Wang Fei's two subordinates exploded, spraying blood that stained the surrounding trees and leaves red.

*Thump.*

Wang Fei's two subordinates collapsed to the ground, their heads gone, blood gushing from their necks.
