Chapter 464: To kill him_Part 1

Few days back in the establishment after Belle refused to strip.

Two vampire guards dragged Belle by force towards the Redroom, the very place her cellmate had warned her to try and avoid being taken. She tried to yank her arms free from their iron grips, but her struggles were to no avail. Her strength was that of a human, while they were vampires.

From the corner of her eyes, she could see Master Kent following behind the men who pulled her, a smile playing across his face.

"New slaves don’t just know how to obey orders until they’re properly trained," said the vampire named Master Kent as he unlocked the door to the room everyone feared. Though Belle didn’t know what was inside, she was certain it wouldn’t be good for her to enter, especially when her bones were already frozen from fear and cold of standing outside without a coat.

"Let go of me!" she yelled, planting her feet firmly on the ground with all the strength she could summon, refusing to go inside.

Master Kent opened the door wider, gesturing for his men to drag her in, but Belle’s strength was slightly more than the average human dragged here every day to be "taught a lesson" for disobedience.

She clutched at the door with both hands, refusing to let go, and Master Kent frowned at the unusual strength she displayed.

One single vampire was enough to drag in a stubborn pregnant woman, but this one was resisting two of them despite being in such a sorry condition. It wasn’t every day that women like her were brought here, and one thing Master Kent enjoyed most in the establishment was breaking such defiant people, turning them obedient until they flinched at the mere mention of his name.

"I am not a slave! Let go of me!" Belle gritted out furiously, though somewhere deep in her mind, fear clung tightly. She had no idea what they planned to do to her in a room that already smelled of blood and urine even before she stepped inside. Whatever it was, she knew it couldn’t be anything good!

Master Kent let out a cold laugh at her words. Though she looked small beside the bulky vampires holding her, she carried a spirit he would enjoy breaking and torturing.

Humans were fragile creatures, and he had dealt with men much bigger than she was, men who fought back at first but became nothing more than trembling rats once the Redroom’s door closed behind them.

Rolling up his sleeves, he said, "You’re not in the position to order us, slave. From your strength, something isn’t right about you, but worry not, I’ll make it right." With that, he raised the rod in his hand and struck her wrists, forcing her to release the door.

She groaned in pain as a sharp crack echoed from her hands, and she let go. Her face reddened with agony, but she bit back a cry and glared at him while his men dragged her into the room.

The pain in Belle’s hands was unbearable; she felt it shoot all the way up her arms. If he hadn’t broken her bone with such pain, then he’d done a big damage to it. She wanted to cry but knew it wouldn’t help.

As they dragged her into the room, Belle glared at the vampire, fighting the urge to bring out her scythe and send him and his men to the land of the dead to wipe off the smirk on his face and the evil look, but she knew better than to mess with more orders in the land of the dead when she was already suffering from doing so in the past.

The vampires pushed her down to sit on an iron chair covered with dried blood.

"Welcome to the red room, slave, where you will leave it knowing who your master is," came Master Kent’s taunting, proud words as he spread his arms as if to show her something he was proud of.

She tore her eyes away from him and looked around the place they had brought her to, and her stomach turned in dread. She swallowed hard.

It was a large room with small, barred windows like the one in the cell she had woken up in. The walls were covered with all kinds of torturing tools she had never seen before, and the chair she sat on stood in the middle of the room. Dried blood was splattered across the stone floor, and the heavy stench of it, mixed with a strong smell of urine, made her stomach churn with nausea.

"Do you know why this is called the Redroom?" Master Kent asked as he waved his men aside, who still held her down on the chair, and when they stepped back, he stood in front of her, using his rod to tap her knee slowly. Belle tried not to show her fear that he might break her legs next. That wouldn’t be good, she needed her legs more to escape this nightmare!

She remained as still as a statue, her eyes on the rod.

He didn’t wait for her to answer. "It’s called the Redroom because no one who steps in here leaves without being covered in red. People are like animals, if you don’t give them reasons to obey their masters when they’re first brought in, they won’t. They’ll always try to run back to where they came from, just like you. The other slaves here have been trained so well that even if you opened the gate and told them to escape, they’d think twice. A slave can’t hide forever, and if they run and get caught, they’re killed in the worst way imaginable."

Belle didn’t know why he was telling her all this. He was probably trying to scare her and make her obey him, but whatever he said, she knew it wouldn’t make her submit to life here without at least trying her best to leave and return home to put an end to Cordelia’s plans.

"I am not a slave and shouldn’t be here," she said, looking him straight in the eye. "I know you know who I am because your mistress must have told you before ordering you to keep me. You know who my husband is and his reputation in this land. He won’t spare you if he finds out about this."

She tried to act braver than she looked, to plant some seed of fear in his and his men’s hearts. But even if her words had done that, Master Kent only laughed in her face and said,

"I can see you haven’t realized it yet. This establishment is a special one. No one finds it, because it’s where we breed and send the babies to the main establishment people visit. Your words mean nothing to me, slave. And the duke’s wife everyone knows isn’t pregnant, nor is she favored enough by the duke for him to come tearing here looking for her."

He smiled as he spoke. Mistress Cordelia had already warned him the human would try to talk her way out by claiming to be the duke’s wife. Cordelia had given orders to torture her if she kept insisting on that idea. Kent had been told to see that she became one of the slaves and to force her into believing she was, to break her spirit and turn her into someone who wouldn’t move unless told to by a master. That was exactly what he planned to do now.

Belle felt fear consume her at something the vampire said and the look in his eyes. No one finds it because it’s special? Did he mean it was hidden somewhere outside Nightbrook? She belatedly realized Cordelia wouldn’t be stupid enough to keep her in a place easily found. Still, Belle tried to convince the vampire again, hoping whatever he was planning, he would drop it.

"If you hurt me again, he will make you regret it. He will come for you, and trust me when I say, he is not nice to people who hurt me. He—"

Master Kent’s smirk vanished. He bent down and gripped her cheeks roughly between his fingers. "You don’t listen, do you, woman? Nobody leaves this place, and nobody ever finds it. And not even this husband of yours will. Now, let’s start with a little training to get you properly in line."

He pushed her face away and gestured for his men to pull her to her feet. They yanked her up and stepped back as Master Kent reached for his whip from the wall behind him.

The sight of the long black whip made Belle swallow hard, her mouth suddenly dry as a desert. Would he really flog her with such a thing?!
