Chapter 11 Assassination Skill Book
Seeing Nie Yan swimming towards her, Yao Yao became even more nervous. She was followed by three monsters, and with her superb skills, she might be able to grind them to death, but the chances of surviving wouldn't exceed ten percent. But if Nie Yan took advantage of her, she would basically be dead.
Seeing the three water spiders pouncing on Yao Yao one after another, Nie Yan quickly dived and followed, gradually catching up with one of the water spiders. He leaped out of the water, and the dagger in his hand pierced the back of one of the water spiders.
Yao Yao turned around and used a Divine Judgement, slamming into the water spider and killing it.
Yao Yao glanced at Nie Yan. Since Nie Yan was helping her deal with the water spiders, he probably didn't have any malicious intentions.
Nie Yan used a Vital Strike, stabbing into the eye of another water spider, knocking off 52 points of its health and flipping over the water spider that was only half-health.
In the blink of an eye, only one of the three water spiders remained.
Such a strong attack! Yao Yao glanced at Nie Yan in surprise. In her memory, she had never had such a powerful friend as Nie Yan. Nie Yan seemed a little unfamiliar.
After Nie Yan killed the second water spider, he immediately pounced on the third.
With two people dealing with one water spider, it immediately seemed much easier.
Yao Yao waved her staff with her right hand, and a Holy Strike hit the remaining water spider.
"Thank you." Seeing that all three water spiders were dead, Yao Yao thanked Nie Yan, but she remained vigilant in case Nie Yan suddenly attacked.
"You're welcome, it was just a small effort. Hello, my name is Nie Yan." Nie Yan smiled brightly. He recalled his previous life. Yao Yao was a very understanding and caring girl, with occasional small fits of willfulness, but for a girl, it wasn't an unacceptable flaw.
"My name is Yao Yao." Yao Yao seemed very cautious. She had never met Nie Yan before, and it was difficult to drop her guard.
Nie Yan really wanted to know something about Yao Yao's situation and add her as a friend, but he didn't want to make the request immediately, lest it seem too abrupt, after all, Yao Yao was a girl. Although he understood that Yao Yao was very wary of him, he firmly believed that with his understanding of Yao Yao, they would still become friends.
In his previous life, he had been very frustrated in love. After entering the game, he met Yao Yao, and it was Yao Yao who had been comforting him and encouraging him. Although they had always been friends, they had accidentally had that kind of relationship, and the bond between them was complicated.
Yao Yao quietly sized up Nie Yan. Nie Yan looked very young and didn't seem like a bad person.
There was nothing to say between the two, and Yao Yao thought that her coldness had caused the silence.
"You saved me today, I want to thank you, let's add each other as friends," Yao Yao said, breaking the deadlock.
"You're welcome, why are you farming water spiders here?" Nie Yan asked. This place was relatively far from towns and villages, and few people came here.
"One of my tasks is to farm water spiders and collect watersacs," Yao Yao said, thinking how close she had come to dying here. If she had died, her efforts of the last three or four days would have been in vain.
"I happen to have a task to farm water spiders to collect fine silk, let's team up to farm water spiders, the watersacs are yours, and the fine silk is mine, how about that?" Nie Yan suggested.
Yao Yao was silent for a moment, then nodded, "Okay, but we agreed that if either of us collects enough, we can leave at any time."
She had said it in advance, and if she felt that Nie Yan was not a good person after farming monsters together, she could leave immediately.
"Of course, I'll invite you to the team." Nie Yan submitted a team invitation to Yao Yao.
System: Yao Yao has joined your team.
"I have twelve fine silks here, I'll give them to you, consider it a reward for you." Yao Yao opened the trading window and said.
"Twelve fine silks are equivalent to thirty-six copper coins!" Nie Yan shook his head.
"Are you saying my level one experience isn't worth thirty-six copper coins? I have no use for these fine silks." Yao Yao looked at Nie Yan. Her eyes were big and round, and her eyelashes curled up slightly, making her look very lively. Yao Yao didn't seem to like owing favors, and she also had an idea that since she had returned the favor, Nie Yan would have no reason to pester her.
"Okay." Nie Yan clicked to confirm the trade. If Yao Yao was determined to do something, she would become stubborn, and Nie Yan didn't want to make the atmosphere too stiff.
"That's more like it." Seeing Nie Yan accept, Yao Yao smiled slightly.
In this way, Nie Yan was much closer to completing his task.
Nie Yan sorted out his backpack and carefully looked at Yao Yao. Yao Yao was slightly more immature than when they met in her previous life, her skin was as white as snow, and the water soaked her chest. The tight-fitting mage robe accentuated Yao Yao's curvaceous figure even more.
Nie Yan clearly remembered that day in the secret room of the Vault of Andergrand, when Yao Yao took off her clothes, her smooth body and perfect curves were like a statue of a goddess.
That day was sensual and lascivious, and both of them were dominated by primitive desires.
But both of them understood that this was just a game, and neither of them had the courage to get close to each other's lives. Later, they gradually returned to the role of good friends. That time was a beautiful mistake, which became an indelible memory in their lives and settled in their hearts.
Nie Yan and Yao Yao chatted for a while, and the topic was nothing more than the game, but they chatted quite speculatively.
"Shall we go?" Yao Yao blinked her eyes and looked at Nie Yan.
Nie Yan's appearance could only be considered ordinary, and he couldn't compare with the others in the team, but his character was not bad, and he was much more pleasing to the eye than the others in the team.
Two people farming monsters was much faster than one person. Nie Yan tanked the monsters in the front, and Yao Yao used Divine Judgement and Holy Strike in the back. The Holy Word Priest's attack was very high, much higher than Nie Yan's, but of course, her attack speed couldn't compare with Nie Yan's.
Nie Yan was distracted for a moment, thinking of the things in his previous life, but then he recovered. Those things in his previous life were all in the past, and he and Yao Yao would be good friends, but they would never make mistakes again. Xie Yao was the person engraved in Nie Yan's heart. After all, the game was illusory, and the best friends and the most tacit fake couples in the game would eventually go their separate ways.
"Are you in a team?" Yao Yao asked.
"Not yet."
"How could that be? With your skills, many teams should be rushing to get you." Yao Yao said, puzzled.
"I'm used to leveling up alone. As for the team, I'll talk about it later. It's boring to join a team at the beginning."
After Nie Yan finished speaking, he pounced on a water spider, and Yao Yao quickly followed up with a Divine Judgement.
Before the water spider could make any moves, Nie Yan's dagger had already pierced the water spider's abdomen, killing it. The two cooperated extremely well.
Yao Yao felt for the first time that it was so enjoyable to cooperate with someone to kill monsters. She couldn't help but wonder if she had met Nie Yan somewhere before.
"Nie Yan, Nie Yan... could it be him?" Yao Yao looked at Nie Yan's back and muttered to herself. She vaguely felt that Nie Yan looked a bit like someone.
"Our team only has seventeen people right now, it's not full yet, do you want to come?" Yao Yao extended an invitation. Although Nie Yan was only level two, his skills were very good, and Sister Yu Lan should be very welcome.
"I don't want to join a team for the time being," Nie Yan refused.
"Oh." Yao Yao was slightly disappointed.
"A Thief's Assassination skill book dropped," Nie Yan said.
"You can have it, that's a Thief's thing, if a Mage's thing drops, it's mine, we each get what we need."
As their conversation deepened, the two gradually became familiar with each other, so Yao Yao didn't haggle with Nie Yan.
"Then I won't be polite." Nie Yan looked at the Assassination skill book.
Skill Book: Assassination
Skill Description: The Thief gains Rage by performing a forward thrust attack.
Casting Element: Action (weapon required)
Skill Attribute: When hitting a vital point, gain an additional +2 to the attack check, +5 to Rage, and 1 combo point.
Skill Cooldown Time: Thirty seconds
User Restriction: Thief, Warrior, Paladin, can be used by any faction.
Nie Yan wasn't like those people she had grouped with before, who would pretend to decline after equipment dropped, and then accept it. A slight smile appeared on the corner of Yao Yao's mouth. Being with Nie Yan gave her a sense of familiarity from the bottom of her heart. Here, she didn't have to wear as many masks as she did in real life.
Nie Yan learned Assassination, and there was another skill in his skill bar.
The Thief's attack skills are divided into basic skills, combo skills, and finishing skills. Basic skills can be used at any time. By attacking the opponent, the Thief accumulates Rage. Using combo skills can gain combo points, while skills like Vital Strike are finishing skills that require a certain amount of Rage to be used. Each additional combo point grants an additional +20% to the attack check. The combo point limit is 10 points, and it returns to zero after being released.
Because of the existence of combos, a master-level Thief's damage output is often two or three times higher than that of an ordinary Thief with the same skill combination.
Under normal circumstances, a Thief's skill composition should have more than twice as many basic skills and combo skills as energy skills to be considered normal.
With Assassination, the speed at which Nie Yan's Rage condensed was significantly faster. One normal attack plus one Assassination could accumulate enough Rage to support the use of Vital Strike.
As the cooperation between the two became more and more skilled, Nie Yan and Yao Yao's courage obviously increased a lot, and they accelerated the speed of farming monsters. Most of the time, Nie Yan pulled two to three monsters at a time. Yao Yao outputted crazily in the back.
Yao Yao's staff never stopped. Divine Judgement and Holy Strike were used one after another. When she ran out of mana, she drank a Slow Mana Potion.
Slow Mana Potions wouldn't be interrupted as long as she wasn't attacked by enemies. They restored sixty points of mana in thirty seconds, and the price wasn't expensive, so it was still very cost-effective.
"How many watersacs have you collected?"
"Fifty-two."
"How many more do you need?"
"Eight."
"It seems like you'll collect enough soon. You probably haven't learned Alchemy yet, have you? After you finish the quest, go to 356.329.311 in Moster Town. There's an NPC there who issues a hidden quest - Rare Herbs. Complete the task assigned by that NPC, and you can learn Perfect Alchemy." Nie Yan said, Perfect Alchemy was more effective than ordinary Alchemy.
She was about to complete the task soon, and Yao Yao suddenly felt a little lost. Farming monsters with Nie Yan was much more enjoyable than leveling up alone, at least she had someone to chat with.
