Chapter 659 Unspeakable Breach of Faith

Xue Zi Ning leaped back, holding a camel as if it were alive and charging at her.

Her silver whip lashed out from her waist, coiling around the camel and the person astride it as they neared her feet, flinging them aside.

She landed abruptly, kicking out at the person galloping wildly on the camel. The person fell to the ground, rolling several times.

The girl riding the camel did not show much surprise at this, as if it were customary.

“Since they cannot defeat you, then let me experience your skill.” The girl leaped into the air, flying off the camel and heading towards Xue Zi Ning.

The girl held a branch in her hand. Xue Zi Ning did not underestimate her. The girl flicked the branch towards her from a distance, and a white light shot towards her.

Xue Zi Ning’s heart lurched, and she dodged.

A flicker of surprise crossed the girl’s eyes. She tutted twice, “Unexpected, but you won’t be able to hold on for long.”

The girl swung the branch in her hand about four or five times, sending four or five white lights towards her.

Xue Zi Ning leaped into the air, rolling to narrowly evade them.

The girl expressed her astonishment, “You have some skill, but this is as far as you go.”

As her words fell, the girl suddenly charged forward, drawing several arcs with the branch in her hand. The white light she created seemed to form a massive white radiance, hurtling towards Xue Zi Ning.

Xue Zi Ning inwardly cried out that it was bad. With her current cultivation, she did not think she could withstand such a force.

“Sister, be careful…” Ling Er’s voice came from behind.

Then, a gust of wind swept past, and Xue Zi Ning saw a small figure standing before her, attempting to block the immense white light for her.

The girl giggled, “Third sister, you have finally decided to show yourself.”

Ling Er bit her lower lip and said, “Second sister, that’s enough. Don’t harm the innocent.”

The girl sneered, “Unless you yield the position of clan leader to me, then everything is off the table.”

Ling Er shouted, raising her hands to block the white light. However, the white light’s power was too great, and Ling Er clearly could not resist it. Blood began to trickle from the corner of her mouth.

Seeing this, Xue Zi Ning also stepped forward to block the white light. The immense power seemed to be swallowing her whole.

“Sister, you step back…” Ling Er also saw that she seemed unable to bear the white light, gritting her teeth.

Xue Zi Ning shook her head, “No, how can I stand by and watch you take this white light for me?” She could not do it.

“Sister…” Ling Er was stunned.

“Don’t be dazed, let’s withstand it together,” Xue Zi Ning said.

Ling Er nodded, “Okay.”

This was the first time someone had fought alongside her, and the feeling was wonderful.

However, the power of the white light was truly immense, and Xue Zi Ning felt it was about to consume her.

“Third sister, if this continues, not only will you be consumed, but your companions will also be devoured. If you just hand over the position of clan leader, all of this will end,” the girl said with a cold laugh.

Ling Er shook her head, “No… I cannot. The promise we made to the royal family a hundred years ago cannot… cannot be broken by me…”

“A promise? How many people have we sent to them? Yet, how have they treated us? Keeping our entire tribe confined beneath this desert for generation after generation, is that their promise?”

“Second sister, our Feng Yin tribe cannot go back on our word.”

“Are we going back on our word, or are they too heartless?”

Ling Er said, “Second sister, it was the Xue family who protected us a hundred years ago. No matter how the world changes or how their descendants treat us, we must remember this kindness.”

“I won’t. Uncle was killed by someone from the royal family. What else do you have to refute?”

Ling Er heard this and said, “Second sister, it’s likely all a misunderstanding here. Besides, I certainly did not allow Uncle to leave the tribe. He went out on his own, and even if he was killed by the royal family, he deserved it.”

“You… you are helping the royal family?” the girl asked, gritting her teeth word by word.

“Second sister, we failed to fulfill the promise we made back then, and we still expect the royal family to be merciful? This in itself is wrong.”

The girl looked at Ling Er and said, “Ling Er, don’t you want to leave this desert and see the outside world?”

“I do, but I bear the responsibility of the Feng Yin tribe. Without the royal family’s permission, I will not allow any clan member to leave this desert. If anyone insists on leaving, don’t blame me for being harsh…”

A cold glint flashed in Ling Er’s eyes.

The girl sneered, “Since you are so stubborn, then there is no point in further discussion. I want to go out, I want to leave this desert. Kill me!”

Suddenly, a smile curved the girl’s lips, “That is, if you can kill me…”

“Are you from the Feng Yin tribe?” Xue Zi Ning suddenly asked.

Ling Er turned to look at her and said, “Sister, don’t investigate. Some things are better left unknown for your own good.”

Xue Zi Ning nodded. It was truly a case of searching high and low, and she hadn’t expected Ling Er to be the leader of the Feng Yin tribe.

However, she had no time to concern herself with that now. The white light was too strong, forcing her to retreat repeatedly.

Ling Er gritted her teeth and growled, but even with all her strength, she could not resist the white light.

Xue Zi Ning knew that if this continued, she might truly be left here. She could not fall here. She silently recited a series of secret techniques.

The camels and people lying on the ground suddenly stood up and charged madly at the girl.

The girl’s face turned pale with shock. How could people who were already dead come back to life?

At this moment, the camels and people in front of the girl surrounded her.

Her aura was disrupted, and the white light’s power was no longer as strong. Seizing this opportunity, Xue Zi Ning and Ling Er transformed the white light’s power into countless white lights, scattering them across the desert and igniting patches of desert flowers.

“Ah…” the girl roared, and with a palm strike, the camels and people fell.

Xue Zi Ning did not let those people revive endlessly; once was enough.

The girl sneered, “Consider yourselves lucky.”

“Second sister, that’s enough.” Ling Er leaped forward, grabbing the girl’s hand and shouting coldly.

The girl struck out at Ling Er with her palm, and Ling Er retreated.

The girl roared, “Not enough, it’s not enough at all. I want to kill you all…”

“Feng Xian, that’s enough.” An ancient voice tore through the sky.

Feng Xian trembled all over, “Elder… Elder…”

A white light suddenly appeared, and a small old man walked out. His expression was grim, and his gaze was exceptionally cold. “Have you caused enough trouble?”

“Elder, it’s Ling Er who is colluding with outsiders against me.” Feng Xian, the villain, accused first.

“Second sister, you’ve gone far enough. Who is it, exactly…”

“Enough! How dare you blame each other here? Private fighting is strictly forbidden by our tribe. You will both return for punishment,” the old man said coldly.

Ling Er and Feng Xian obediently followed the old man.

The old man took two steps, then stopped abruptly and said, “You come along too!”

Xue Zi Ning was startled and asked, “Are you talking about me?”
