Chapter 459: Revised: Chapter 459 Unbelievable
The chair made a perfect arc and successfully hit the scar-faced man, knocking him to the ground.
Chef Li was stunned that Zhang Dadan actually dared to make a move. With so many people holding kitchen knives, was he not scared at all?
All the disciples, who were chefs and had never been involved in any fights, were a bit shaky seeing this scene and started to slowly back off.
Zhou Yong couldn’t help but snort lightly and taunt, "A bunch of cowards, pretending to be tough? Go back home and suckle at your mother’s teat!"
"Zhou Yong! What are you doing? Don’t provoke them any further!" Bai Jie scolded quickly, fearing that these people might really join the fray.
But Chef Li, a man of immense vanity, felt humiliated by Zhou Yong’s mockery and couldn’t calm down. He shouted angrily at his disciples, "There are so many of us, what are we afraid of? Get them for me!"
However, his disciples still hesitated, looking at the scar-faced man lying on the ground, feeling anxious.
The scar-faced man lying on the ground wasn’t really unconscious, just scared out of his wits and no longer dared to put on a brave front.
"Hu, get up, damn it. It’s just a chair hitting you, and you’re pretending to be dead?" Chef Li kicked the scar-faced man and shouted angrily.
Even though they had drawn their kitchen knives early on, Zhang Dadan never showed a hint of fear because none of them had the killing aura, and even their fierce looks seemed forced!
Now, seeing the scar-faced man pretending to be dead on the ground, he found it even more amusing and said to Chef Li, "You’d better stop kicking him. What if he dies from your kicks rather than fright?"
Chef Li, seeing Zhang Dadan making fun of him, became even angrier. He turned to his disciples and cursed, "You cowardly bastards! So many of us, and you’re afraid of just him? Are you all spineless?"
These people didn’t dare to make a move, not just because they were scared of Zhang Dadan’s ferocity but because they feared accidentally killing or injuring someone.
So, despite Chef Li’s prolonged mobilization and cursing, no one dared to step forward, and some even put their kitchen knives away.
Bai Jie, seeing their hesitation to act, slowly released Zhang Dadan and asked, "What’s wrong with them?"
"What’s wrong? They chickened out! You think everyone holding a knife is a villain? Some are cowards too!" Zhou Yong taunted.
Chef Li and his disciples, standing at the door with kitchen knives, looked like fools, too scared to make a move.
Zhang Dadan glanced at the shop owner and advised Chef Li, "If you guys don’t dare to act, you’d better get out of here and not delay my business!"
Who would have thought that a paper tiger would dare to act tough! Chef Li grabbed a knife from his disciple and charged at Zhang Dadan with a loud scream.
Faced with this sudden action, not only were Zhang Dadan and the others stunned, but even Chef Li’s disciples were dumbfounded and in disbelief.
The shop owner had received a call from Chef Li early that morning, informing him that he wanted to rent his shop.
Initially, he wanted to refuse since he had already negotiated with Zhou Yong, but Chef Li offered a high price.
People might say no to many things, but not to money. The owner quickly wavered after Chef Li’s persuasion.
The owner felt it was only right to change his mind and wasn’t even the least bit guilty.
But who would have thought that Chef Li was not only a cook but also someone who carried a kitchen knife and was ready to chop people at the slightest disagreement?
Seeing Chef Li’s disciples pull out their kitchen knives, the owner slipped into the corner and secretly called the police, briefly explaining the situation in the shop.
As the police arrived, Chef Li suddenly burst forth, wielding his kitchen knife and charging at Zhang Dadan.
Despite the sudden move, Zhang Dadan reacted promptly, kicking Chef Li in the head and knocking him to the ground. The kitchen knife in his hand flew out and landed right next to the shop owner’s foot.
The shop owner, hiding in the corner, turned pale at the sight of the flying kitchen knife.
When the knife missed, he collapsed to the ground, his heart filled with gratitude to all the deities and ancestors.
Chef Li’s disciples, seeing their master killed in one move, quickly threw their kitchen knives to the side, smiling sheepishly as if it had nothing to do with them.
Chef Li, lying on the ground, saw stars and felt like there were mosquitoes buzzing all around his head.
"You... you dare kick me?" Chef Li managed to stand up with the support of his hands, cursing blindly at Zhou Yong.
Zhou Yong, feeling innocent and not the least bit angry despite being cursed, laughed and pointed at Chef Li’s disciples, saying, "Chef Li, the one who kicked you is over there! Go to him!"
Chef Li, having been kicked silly by Zhang Dadan, turned around and cursed at his disciples, "Damn it! Are you bullying me because I have bad eyesight? You stay right there!"
Seeing their master had been kicked senseless, the disciples were even more frightened, worried they might end up like him.
As the crowd was preparing to surrender, two police officers burst in, shouting, "Everyone freeze! Hands on your heads!"
Even though the disciples had their backs to the police and were startled, they quickly complied with the command.
Zhang Dadan and the others, unsure if they should put their hands on their heads, stared blankly at the police, since they were the victims.
A female police officer, seeing Zhang Dadan unresponsive, shouted, "Hands on your head! Yes, you! Didn’t you hear?"
Zhang Dadan pointed at himself, asking dumbly, "You’re talking to me? But I’m the victim here!"
At this point, Chef Li had somewhat regained his senses and, seeing the police, quickly raised his hands and cried, "Officer, you must stand up for me! They beat me up. If you don’t believe me, you can take me for a medical exam. I have his footprint on my head!"
The female police officer glanced at Chef Li and saw a footprint near his ear, instinctively thinking he was the victim.
"I’m talking to you! Hands up..." The female police officer shouted angrily, approaching Zhang Dadan.
Seeing the misunderstanding, Bai Jie quickly explained, "Officer, we’re the victims. They were trying to chop us with kitchen knives, and we were just defending ourselves!"
When the owner called the police, they didn’t explain the situation clearly, only said someone with kitchen knives was facing off in the shop. Naturally, the female officer took Bai Jie’s words as an excuse and ignored them.
At this moment, the male officer at the door had found six or seven kitchen knives and questioned Chef Li’s disciples, "Where did these kitchen knives come from?"
The people looked at each other, then all hung their heads, trembling silently. Seeing this, the female officer became even more suspicious of Zhang Dadan.
Looks like both sides were clashing with kitchen knives. Otherwise, these six or seven young men would have already chopped up Zhang Dadan and the others, right?
But guessing was one thing; everything had to be determined based on evidence. The female officer discussed it with her colleague and then took out a small notebook to take everyone’s statements on the spot.
