Jiang Yi sneered upon hearing this.
"What are you laughing at?" Manager Du asked in a deep voice.
"With me here, are you afraid Young Master Chou will get into trouble?" Jiang Yi said, fixing his gaze on Manager Du. "Manager Du, it takes at least an hour and a half to get from the company to here. You arrived in only half an hour. Did you somehow know in advance that Young Master Chou would get into trouble?"
"What do you mean by that?" Manager Du asked.
"Young Master Chou asked me to investigate the missing bodyguards, and then you suddenly appeared, saying you rushed over after receiving the news. You're definitely lying!" Jiang Yi stated. "Those missing bodyguards must have something to do with you!"
"Nonsense!" Manager Du erupted in a torrent of curses. He hadn't expected Jiang Yi to throw mud on him.
"I was nearby just now, which is why I could get here in half an hour after receiving the news. Jiang Yi, you are clearly framing me!" Manager Du exclaimed, his face contorted with anger.
"I am not framing you!" Jiang Yi smiled faintly. "Right now, you are the most suspicious. You'd better start thinking about how you're going to explain yourself to Young Master Chou later!"
Manager Du suddenly let out a cold laugh. "Manager Jiang, are you so eager to frame me that you might have killed those bodyguards yourself?" Manager Du stared at Jiang Yi. Hearing this, the assassins behind Manager Du also turned their gaze towards Jiang Yi.
"Manager Du, stop making baseless accusations. I was just testing you. I didn't expect you to become so nervous! It seems I guessed correctly; the deaths of those bodyguards are related to you. And you brought so many people here; you must be plotting something. I advise you to abandon all your thoughts, or you might be in big trouble!" Jiang Yi said with a slight smile.
Manager Du's mouth twitched with anger. "Manager Du, let's not waste any more time with this brat. We can go upstairs and explain everything to Young Master Chou!" one of the assassins said to Manager Du.
"Alright!" Manager Du nodded and then walked directly upstairs.
"Stop!" Jiang Yi stood up and blocked Manager Du's path.
Manager Du, seeing this, instinctively took a step back. He was well aware of Jiang Yi's martial prowess. From their current distance, Jiang Yi could have easily killed him. Ever since the incident last time, Manager Du felt a sense of fear whenever he saw Jiang Yi.
"Get out of my way!" Manager Du shouted at Jiang Yi. Manager Du had now retreated to a safe distance, so he was no longer afraid that Jiang Yi would suddenly attack and kill him.
"You can go upstairs, but you have to get past me first!" Jiang Yi said calmly.
"Go get him!" Manager Du shouted at the assassins behind him.
The assassins hesitated for a moment before rushing towards Jiang Yi.
"Stop!" A stern voice called out from upstairs. Everyone looked up and saw it was Young Master Chou.
"What are you doing?" Young Master Chou roared angrily at the assassins. "Are you looking for death?"
The assassins broke out in a cold sweat.
"Young Master Chou, we were worried you might be in trouble, so we rushed over to check," Manager Du quickly said to Young Master Chou.
"With Jiang Yi here, what trouble could I possibly get into?" Young Master Chou frowned and said, "All the bodyguards I brought to the bar have disappeared. I suspect something is wrong. I asked Jiang Yi to investigate, and you people are causing trouble!"
Seeing Young Master Chou's anger, Manager Du could only shut his mouth.
"What have you found?" Young Master Chou asked Jiang Yi.
"Young Master Chou, I've found some clues, but I dare not draw any hasty conclusions. If I reveal them, someone will surely try to kill me," Jiang Yi replied.
"With me here, you have nothing to worry about!" Young Master Chou looked at Jiang Yi and said, "Tell me all the clues you've found. I'd like to see who dares to mess around under my nose!"
"I suspect Manager Du is involved in this matter!" Jiang Yi stated.
Upon hearing this, Young Master Chou's brow immediately furrowed.
"Young Master Chou, don't listen to this kid Jiang Yi's nonsense. He's deliberately framing me!" Manager Du quickly interjected.
Young Master Chou ignored Manager Du and said to Jiang Yi, "Manager Du has been with me for so long, he's a veteran of the company. How could he possibly do something like this?" Young Master Chou was somewhat skeptical.
"It's just a suspicion, I'm not sure!" Jiang Yi replied.
"Explain it clearly!" Young Master Chou commanded.
"The bodyguards had only been missing for half an hour when Manager Du immediately rushed to the bar. Moreover, he brought so many people. The moment he entered the hall, he demanded to see you, Young Master Chou!" Jiang Yi said. "Young Master Chou, think about it, very few people knew what happened at the bar, so how could Manager Du know? Yet, he arrived so quickly with his men."
"That makes some sense!" Young Master Chou nodded. Manager Du's face turned extremely grim.
"Get out of my sight immediately!" Young Master Chou said coldly to Manager Du.
Manager Du shot Jiang Yi a resentful glare before having no choice but to leave the bar. Manager Du was a smart man; he knew that if he stayed in the bar any longer, Young Master Chou would become even more suspicious. In such a situation, Manager Du had to take his men and leave the bar.
After Manager Du's figure disappeared from the hall, Young Master Chou frowned and said to Jiang Yi, "Kid, don't cause trouble anymore. In the entire Wanhui Company, even if everyone else betrays me, Manager Du would never betray me. I trust him more than anyone, including you!"
Hearing this, Jiang Yi's brows knit together slightly. It seemed Manager Du and Young Master Chou had a complicated relationship. Young Master Chou's trust in Manager Du was completely beyond his expectations.
"Manager Du is my uncle!" Young Master Chou said. "Very few people know this. I'm telling you this so you know that my uncle would never sell me out!"
Jiang Yi was stunned by this revelation! He never expected Manager Du and Young Master Chou to have such a connection. No wonder his attempt to frame Manager Du had failed. It seemed he would have to find another way to get rid of Manager Du.
"I want to ask you something!" Young Master Chou frowned and said to Jiang Yi, "Hu Niang is indifferent to me. Although she says she's my girlfriend, she won't even let me hold her hand, let alone touch her. Tell me, does she have no feelings for me at all!"
"You're too impatient! You've only just met. Naturally, she won't get close to you so quickly. These things take time. If you rush it, you might end up annoying Miss Hu!" Jiang Yi advised.
