Chapter 449: The Banquet

"But remember this—if you dare treat my sister poorly or make her suffer, I won’t let you off easy!" Dongfang Xun warned.

"That’s wonderful!" Liu Hong said with a smile. "Since you’ve made up your mind, try to get along well with Jiang Yi from now on. Come, sit down and eat!"

"Mm."

Dongfang Xun nodded and took his seat.

"A friend of mine is hosting a banquet later. Let’s all go together!" Dongfang Xun said, looking at Jiang Yi.

"Sure."

Jiang Yi agreed.

Liu Hong beamed with joy.

Her biggest worry had been the tension between Dongfang Xun and Jiang Yi—now, she could finally relax.

After dinner, Jiang Yi got into Dongfang Xun’s car and left the villa, heading to the Royal Hotel.

"Do you like my sister?" Dongfang Xun asked while driving.

"A little," Jiang Yi replied.

"Just *a little*?"

Dongfang Xun frowned slightly. "My sister really likes you. Stay with us for a while and spend time with her. She may seem strong on the outside, but deep down, she’s fragile—she’s still a woman, after all."

Before Jiang Yi could respond, Dongfang Xun’s phone rang.

After hanging up, Dongfang Xun turned to Jiang Yi. "My friends can’t wait to meet you—the legendary miracle doctor. They’ve been blowing up my phone."

"I’m no miracle doctor. I just know a bit of medicine," Jiang Yi said modestly.

"Come on, no need to be humble. Everyone in the capital knows about your skills. Rumor has it you’re hailed as the capital’s *Number One Divine Physician*. Even if people haven’t met you, they’ve heard your name," Dongfang Xun said.

Jiang Yi’s brow furrowed slightly.

Dongfang Xun, who had always opposed him, was now praising his medical prowess?

It felt... strange.

"My friends are all rich second-generation heirs—arrogant bunch. But don’t worry, as long as I’m here, no one will dare act high and mighty in front of you," Dongfang Xun assured.

Jiang Yi nodded but said nothing.

He didn’t care if people acted superior—but if anyone provoked him, they’d regret it, no matter who they were.

Soon, they arrived at the Royal Hotel.

The moment they stepped out of the car, a group of young men and women approached, greeting Dongfang Xun warmly.

Jiang Yi noticed a woman in a red dress among them.

He had seen her once before—during Dongfang Mei’s class reunion.

The woman in red also recognized Jiang Yi and gave him a faint smile but remained silent.

"Let me introduce you all—this is Jiang Yi, the capital’s *Number One Divine Physician*!"

Dongfang Xun gestured to Jiang Yi proudly. "His medical skills are renowned—even *I* admire him!"

He had brought Jiang Yi specifically to show off in front of his friends.

The crowd turned their attention to Jiang Yi—but seeing how young he looked, nothing like the legendary miracle doctor they’d imagined, many wore expressions of disappointment.

"Dongfang Xun, are you kidding us? *This* guy is the miracle doctor?"

"Yeah, I heard the real Jiang Yi is over a hundred years old. This kid looks barely twenty!"

"You must’ve brought a fake to trick us. We’re not *that* gullible!"

The group erupted in chatter.

No one believed Jiang Yi was the famed miracle doctor.

Just then, a stretch Lincoln pulled up to the entrance.

A man in a white suit stepped out.

The moment he appeared, the entire group tensed—clearly, no one welcomed his presence.

"Who’s that?" Jiang Yi asked Dongfang Xun.

"Qian Taiduo, son of Qian Wanduo—the richest man in the capital," Dongfang Xun muttered. "That guy’s insufferably arrogant. No one dares cross him. We all despise him, but what can we do? He’s got power and money. Ordinary people can’t afford to provoke him."

Jiang Yi almost laughed.

What kind of name was *Qian Taiduo*? (*"Excessively Wealthy Qian"*)

No wonder his family was the capital’s top tycoons.

"If none of you like him, why invite him? Isn’t that asking for trouble?" Jiang Yi asked.

"I *didn’t* invite him. He invited himself!"

Dongfang Xun sighed. "We met at a car exhibition years ago. At first, I thought he was decent, so we became friends. Later, I realized he’s just a scumbag. I rarely interact with him—he’s the one who keeps seeking *me* out."

Jiang Yi finally understood.

"Qian Taiduo’s here for my sister," Dongfang Xun said grimly. "Back in the capital, he wouldn’t stop harassing her. She had no choice but to leave for Jiang Province."

Jiang Yi smirked internally.

So, he had a love rival now.

"Dongfang Xun, you’re so stingy—hosting a banquet without inviting me?"

Qian Taiduo pulled out a bottle of liquor. "This is the good stuff—I won it at an overseas auction. Drinking alone is boring, so I came to share it with you all!"

"Come in," Dongfang Xun said flatly.

Qian Taiduo strutted into the hotel without hesitation.

"Let’s go," Dongfang Xun called to the group.

They followed reluctantly.

Soon, they entered a private room—spacious, almost as large as the hotel lobby, lavishly furnished.

Jiang Yi smiled.

He’d been to the Royal Hotel many times, but this was the most extravagant private room he’d seen.

Qian Taiduo sprawled on the sofa, legs crossed, scanning the crowd before locking eyes with Jiang Yi.

"Who are you? I don’t recognize you. I know all of Dongfang Xun’s friends—but not you."

"Jiang Yi," Jiang Yi replied. "First time hanging out with Dongfang Xun."

Qian Taiduo burst into laughter.

"What’s so funny?" Jiang Yi asked.

"I heard the capital’s *Number One Divine Physician* is also named Jiang Yi!"

Qian Taiduo smirked. "My personal doctor used to hold that title—until *Jiang Yi* showed up and demoted him to *second best*. If I ever get the chance, I’d love to see what this so-called miracle doctor is capable of!"
