Chapter 342: Tipping the Scales of War
One of the men who was flying beside Luthor shouted back!
"You fools are fighting for the wrong side! Why are you putting your lives on the line for someone who stole power from the Royal family! Not only are you fighting without honor, but even the dragon gods have abandoned you! We should be fighting against the Sovereign!"
"You think you’ll receive any blessings from the gods for standing with the Sovereign! I’ll rather fight to liberate this world, and then we will choose a proper King for ourselves!"
"The Sovereign doesn’t deserve to have the throne! You can’t take the throne through bloodshed!"
This time, it was the turn of those standing against the Sovereign to shout back, and they didn’t waste any time in showing that they were very angry at what the Sovereign had done! Luthor already had a feeling that there were those who would stand against the Sovereign! It was an inevitable situation whenever a coup took place! Luthor had been in a few rebellions during his time as a soldier, and he could always tell how deeply pained and furious those fighting against their oppressors were, and that was why he had decided to try to make them understand that he was on their side. It was just good that Jason was around to help with the translation. Luthor didn’t want to imagine how things would have gone if he couldn’t pass his message across because of the language barrier! Luthor turned to Jason and was about to thank him for his help, but one of the Rogues that were close to Jason immediately told his dragon to charge towards Jason with a shout!

The dragon opened its mouth to breathe fire at Jason, but Jason simply activated a skill!

A hundred swords created from pure mana suddenly appeared around Jason and flew forward! The swords shot through the sky and rained down on the unprepared Rogue and his dragon! Even though the Rogue and his dragon had thick hides, they were still very weak since they hadn’t been in many battles, and the A Rank swords easily tore into them and killed both of them easily! Jason watched as they slowly fell from the sky and crashed into the ground, and he shook his head in mild disappointment. Why were these fools impossible to convince? Don’t they see that they were on the wrong side? Is this really the sort of world they would rather live in!?

This one act from a single soldier seemed to be the match that lit up the entire battlefield in an explosion, and every fighter on either side of the battle suddenly came to life as they charged for each other! This time, it wasn’t just Luthor and Jason’s Legion going up against an entire swarm of soldiers; instead, the rebellion that stood against the Sovereign had joined in with Luthor and the Legion, and they were fighting their own comrades with ferocity in order to ensure they gained back their independence!

The echoes of battle tore across the sky of the large town and Jason easily dispatched all the dragons that tried to take him out before he put his hand forward and spoke in a commanding tone.
"Resurrect."

The entire battlefield seemed to shake from Jason’s words alone, and everyone turned around in shock when they felt it! Luthor stopped what he was doing and looked back as well, but once he realized that it was Jason who caused the tremor, he quickly refocused on the battle and used the distraction that Jason had just provided to take out one of the more difficult soldiers that he had been fighting! The other soldiers that weren’t used to seeing Jason’s powers in action were too stunned to even move, and they could only watch in dread as their comrades slowly rose from the dead!

Jason’s mana easily skyrocketed past the five hundred thousand mark once he was done with the resurrections and Jason grinned when he saw that two of his stats had just passed into the SSS Rank!

All Jason needed now was to resurrect a few monsters in the other towns and he would be able to get into the SSS Rank! Jason activated [King’s Substitute], and he found himself appearing in another battlefield on the other side of the world. Jason watched as one of the superhumans he had come with took on various enemies around her. The superhuman was a woman with a strange ability that allowed her to create sound waves and shock waves to disorient or throw off opponents. It made her the perfect support fighter, and this allowed Jason’s Legion to take on many opponents whenever she was done disorienting them! Jason waited until the woman was done taking out her enemy before he let out a pulse of his pressure and made the entire battlefield come to a halt. Jason gave out the same speech that he had heard Luthor giving out earlier, and he watched as the faces of the soldiers changed – some in shock and others in anger. These men were the same as those in the previous town and there were those who decided to throw their hat in with Jason and his Legion. The female superhuman there happily accepted the help from those who were willing to stand beside her and they were now able to even the odds against those standing by the Sovereign.
Jason carried out the resurrections of the dead, and he quickly moved on to another town and repeated this same process. At the end, Jason realized that there were thousands of soldiers who didn’t want to be on the Sovereign’s side. These people weren’t just being oppressed; they were also being forced to lay down their lives for someone who had stolen their kingdom from them. There was no way there wouldn’t be a rebellion! At this rate, Jason was sure that they would be able to push back against the enemies, and the only thing that would change the tide of battle now was if the Generals arrived with their Royal Army regiment.
’That might still not be much of an issue. If I keep resurrecting the dead soldiers at this rate, they’ll eventually outnumber the Radagan soldiers in every town.’
This thought passed through Jason’s mind as Jason checked the hierarchy tabs for some of his Rook Rank subordinates, and he saw that many of them had gotten up to a hundred percent! Jason had close to three hundred thousand Kill Points in his system since his subordinates had killed so many enemies, but even with so many points, Jason would have to be careful of how he used them. Jason planned to use about two hundred thousand points to upgrade Ragnar, Azrael, Jaraht and Raya since they were his strongest Rook Rank III members, so Jason only had enough points to upgrade ten Rook Rank II subordinates to Rook Rank III. And Jason decided that this was his best course of action!
