Chapter 351: Soul Mate
The Sovereign turned to look at his right shoulder with a frown. The shoulder was hanging limply at his side, and he couldn’t feel any sensation from that arm at all! There was a strange rot spreading out from the shoulder towards the rest of his body, but the Soverign sent his mana towards the arm, and he watched as the rot slowed its progress before stopping!
’Is this some sort of Necrotic Attack?’
The Soverign had this thought as he looked at the rotting arm once again. The Soverign pulled out a healing potion and drank it, but he was surprised when it didn’t do anything about the injury. He used an S rank healing artifact, and the Soverign grew angrier when he got the same result, and he realized that he would no longer be able to use his more dominant hand. The Soverign’s abilities weren’t dependent on which arm he used since he had trained both arms very well, but he knew that he was more comfortable with his right arm, so there would be a slight delay in his actions with his left arm! The Soverign clicked his tongue in irritation! There was no doubt in his mind that the man who attacked him was a powerful mage! That man had power that was on par with a low-ranking SSS Rank, and that was why the Soverign had been too shocked to react to the attack! The Soverign would have never used this much power against anyone else. But that man caused the Soverign to feel cautious for the first time in a long time, and he knew that he had to get rid of him immediately!
’At least he is now dead. I won’t have to worry about that anymore. This arm will slow me down, but the healers should be able to take care of it once we’re done with the battle.’
The Soverign had this thought as he turned to glance out from the large hole he made in the castle wall, and he growled when he saw the two large dragons that were battling in the sky! The Soverign’s dragon was the largest and strongest dragon in the Royal Army, but it was still not able to handle Ragnar quickly! The two dragons had been clashing in the air like mythical titans, and the Soverign raised his sword and lit it up with [Emberstorm] as he prepared to aid his dragon! Once Ragnar felt the power coming from the Soverign, it changed its focus and shifted all its attention to the Soverign! Ragnar drew its head back and it released fire at the same time that the Soverign unleashed his skill!
TWOOM!
KA-BOOOM!!
....
As for Jason, he had been right in the middle of the Soverign’s attack, and even with all the artefacts and defensive skills that he used to try and protect himself, there was no way he could block out even a fraction of the raw power from that attack!
[You have died]
[The skill [Soul Mate] has been activated]
[The user will be resurrected at the closest available subordinate.]
Somewhere in the middle of the battle raging in the main city, a large Rook Rank II dragon suddenly felt a tug on its soul as it was pulled back into the River of the Afterlife, and in exchange, Jason’s soul was dragged back into the real world, and Jason’s body regenerated in the position where the dragon had been! Jason felt his eyes open as his body came to life once again and he took in a deep breath and looked around to see that he was in the middle of a battlefield! There was a Radagan soldier that had been fighting the dragon that just vanished, and the man was shocked when he saw Jason suddenly appearing! The man yelled out a battle cry as he raised his sword for an attack, but Jason simply activated [Iron Storm].
Ratatatatat!
More than a hundred swords flew towards the man and impaled him so many times that he looked just like a pincushion! The man dropped to the ground, and Jason didn’t pay the dead man any more attention as he turned to see which direction the castle was in! Jason narrowed his eyes when he finally saw the castle in the distant north! Jason hadn’t predicted his own death at all. But it wasn’t as though Jason was surprised by it. Jason knew that the first attack he would use against the Soverign was very important. The Soverign was far more powerful than Jason, so even though Jason could have tried to kill the Soverign with his first attack, Jason knew that it wouldn’t have worked. So instead, Jason decided that it would be more reasonable to reduce the Soverign’s ability to fight properly with his attack, and that was why Jason targeted the arm instead.
’But that bastard’s attack is just too intense. Most of my defensive artefacts are gone.’
Jason already knew that he would have to withstand at least one attack from the Soverign since he would be in a bad position after taking the Soverign’s arm, but Jason thought that he would at least be able to tank the attack using his defensive artefacts! Jason had no idea that the bastard was strong enough to destroy all the artefacts and still kill him with one swing! But at least now Jason didn’t have to worry about the Soverign using both hands for a while. The rot from the [Death’s Mirage] would have seeped into the Soverign’s right arm, and Jason was sure that he wouldn’t be able to use it! But even without his right arm, Jason knew that the Soverign wouldn’t be easy to kill! There was no way someone that strong would suddenly become far weaker just because they lost an arm! At most, all Jason did was make the Sovereign slower than before!
All around Jason, the war was still raging, but all the enemies had decided that they would stay out of Jason’s way once they saw him killing that soldier so easily. Jason’s system was still ringing with the notifications from kills, and Jason was sure that he had killed more than a thousand soldiers from the Radagan army by now.

The user has lost [512] of his subordinates in the battle. The system advises the user to revive his soldiers in order to ensure his Legion is not overwhelmed.
——
He could feel that his Legion was giving the Radagan soldiers one hell of a fight, and he smiled. Jason didn’t have the time to go and start resurrecting everyone around the various towns, but Jason quickly made some calculations in his head and he realized that he would need to use just about two hundred and fifty thousand mana points to resurrect the dead soldiers. Dammit. Jason couldn’t afford to use that many mana points since he was fighting the Sovereign. Jason quickly used up a hundred thousand mana points to resurrect about [250] subordinates, and he decided to leave the others. Jason needed to go and finish off the Soverign before that bastard would have time to recover from his injuries!
’Jason! Are you there!?’
Gina’s voice suddenly echoed through Jason’s mind, and Jason narrowed his eyes when he heard the urgency in it! Jason responded, and he asked Gina what was wrong, and he heard a sigh of relief coming through the link! Gina told Jason that they had been trying to contact him through the comms all this time, but it wasn’t going through, and Jason put his hand up to his ear and realized that the comms were gone. Did he lose it sometime during the fight? He didn’t even notice it.
