Chapter 310: Chapter 323: If you don’t buy it now, it won’t be of any use tonight.
Han Xi took Lu Jinghan’s coat and hung it on the hanger: "Sister Zhang, we’re all adults now; you can actually stay at home a few more days."
Sister Zhang waved her hand, smiling kindly: "I just can’t stop worrying about you two."
"Thank you, Sister Zhang."
Back in the bedroom, Han Xi lay directly on the bed. So many things had happened all at once since last night, and she felt a bit exhausted.
Especially when she saw Han Guanghong crying at the cemetery just now, her whole heart felt sour, but she couldn’t bring herself to forgive Han Guanghong.
"Have a glass of milk first, and then take a nap."
Lu Jinghan walked in from outside carrying a glass of milk.
Han Xi turned to look at the man standing beside the bed, obediently sat up, and took the cup from Lu Jinghan, drinking it all in one go.
"Don’t think too much, just get some good sleep."
"Mm, will you stay with me?"
Han Xi hugged Lu Jinghan’s slim waist, leaning into his embrace like a kitten.
Lu Jinghan lovingly patted Han Xi’s head, lifted the covers, and lay down beside her: "Hurry up and go to sleep."
Who knows how long passed until he heard her breathing become gentle and even. Only then did Lu Jinghan slowly withdraw his arm from under Han Xi’s neck, get up to tuck her in, and leave the bedroom.
After leaving the bedroom, Lu Jinghan went to the study. He had a video conference with the U.S. branch scheduled for this afternoon, which was already running late.
By the time the meeting ended, it was already past four o’clock. Lu Jinghan tiredly rubbed his temples, pulled out a cigarette from the pack on the desk, and lit it while holding it at the corner of his mouth.
Han Xi had already woken up in the bedroom. She washed her face in the bathroom and combed her messy hair into a bun before heading downstairs.
"Sister Zhang, have you seen Jing Han?"
Upon hearing her voice, Sister Zhang walked over from the living room: "Sir should be in the study."
Han Xi nodded: "We have guests coming tonight, so I’m going to the supermarket to buy some ingredients. If Jing Han asks, tell him I’ll be back soon."
"Madam, it’s quite cold outside; let me go instead."
"It’s okay, I’ll be back very soon." With those words, Han Xi had already put on her coat and shoes: "I’m leaving, Sister Zhang."
As soon as Han Xi stepped outside, she shivered, and the cold wind blew a few strands of hair on her forehead into disarray. She tightened her coat and walked out.
At the supermarket, Han Xi pushed a shopping cart and first went to the seafood section, picking out some hairy crabs and oysters. She then went to the meat, vegetable, and fruit sections to choose a lot. Just as she was about to go to the Silver Platform to check out, she saw Lu Jinghan walking towards her.
"Why did you come?"
Lu Jinghan pushed the shopping cart away from Han Xi: "I was worried you wouldn’t be able to carry everything, so I came over."
Han Xi smiled lightly and wrapped her arm around his: "I’ve bought almost everything and was just about to check out."
Lu Jinghan glanced at the items in the shopping cart, his lips curling in a smile with a deeper meaning: "Seems like something is missing."
"What’s missing?"
Han Xi looked at the cart full of ingredients and couldn’t figure out what she had forgotten to buy.
Lu Jinghan smiled without saying a word and pushed the cart toward the household items section, with Han Xi following behind.
After walking around, Lu Jinghan finally stopped in front of a shelf with T, speaking seriously: "There’s none at home, if we don’t buy them, we won’t have any for tonight."
In an instant, Han Xi’s face grew hot as if it were boiling water, scorching and burning.
