Chapter 157: Chapter 157: How Did She Achieve It... Such Ruthlessness?
Without asking why there was a fight, without even a glance at Li Chenghao, Han Xi’s focus was entirely on Lu Jinghan from start to finish.
Lu Jinghan looked at Han Xi’s worried expression, feeling warm inside: "Don’t worry, I’m not hurt. Sister Zhang will come by to bring you lunch this afternoon. I need to go back to the company now."
"Okay, drive carefully on the road."
Watching Lu Jinghan enter the elevator, the onlookers around had mostly dispersed. Only then did Han Xi turn around and push the door open to enter the office.
Li Chenghao looked at the closed door, his eyes full of bitterness, his heart aching as if it had been shattered.
He understood Han Xi; if she didn’t utterly dislike someone, she wouldn’t be so indifferent, not even sparing a glance or a word.
It seemed he had really hurt the woman he wanted to cherish yesterday.
Li Chenghao didn’t bother Han Xi anymore. He needed to head back to the company to deal with some trouble. As he turned, he caught sight of Han Siyu standing not far behind him.
Han Siyu merely watched him quietly, her red lips curving into a slight arc, smiling as beautifully as a poppy flower.
Li Chenghao locked eyes with her for a few seconds, a complex look in his eyes, then said nothing and entered the elevator.
Just as the elevator doors were about to close, through the narrow gap, Han Siyu mouthed the words "I love you" to Li Chenghao.
Li Chenghao saw it too.
Han Siyu brushed her long hair falling in front of her chest and walked towards Han Xi’s office with a radiant smile.
Hearing a knock on the door, Han Xi looked up and said, "Come in."
When the door opened, Han Xi’s hands on the desk unconsciously twisted together; for now, she didn’t know how to face her sister.
"Xiao Xi, come with me to mom’s grave. I want to visit her."
Han Siyu’s cold gaze was without ripples, and the corners of her mouth maintained a faint smile.
Han Xi hadn’t expected Han Siyu to suddenly mention going to the cemetery. Though a bit surprised, Han Xi didn’t refuse: "Alright, I’ll go with you after work at noon."
"Let’s go now. Ask for leave from the hospital."
Han Xi hesitantly pressed her lips and then closed the case file in her hand: "Alright, I’ll go with you."
After asking for leave from the hospital, Han Xi left the office with Han Siyu. While waiting for the elevator, Han Xi called Sister Zhang, saying she was going to the cemetery and might not return by noon, so there was no need for Sister Zhang to bring lunch.
In the elevator, they stood one in front of the other. Han Siyu looked at Han Xi through the smooth elevator wall: "My car is in the parking lot, let’s take my car."
"Okay," Han Xi replied with her head down.
After exiting the elevator, Han Xi followed Han Siyu into the car. Once they fastened their seatbelts, Han Siyu turned the steering wheel and drove out of the hospital parking lot.
Neither of them spoke on the road; the silence in the car was such that one could hear a pin drop, and the atmosphere sank to freezing point.
Han Xi turned her body to watch the city’s scenery flash by the window, constantly recalling the scene where Han Siyu stood by idly yesterday.
How could she turn a blind eye to watching the man she deeply loved forcibly kiss her own sister?
How could she be... so heartless?
After nearly two hours of driving, Han Siyu parked the car outside the cemetery. The two of them, holding flowers they had just bought downtown, walked towards Wen Qin’s grave.
In the four years Han Siyu had been away, she never came back to visit Wen Qin, even though she missed her terribly, she had never returned.
