Chapter 253: Chapter 262: Don’t talk nonsense, am I that kind of person?
Han Xi sat up in bed, glancing sideways at the bouquet of roses with dew drops on the nightstand, her smile as sweet as honey.
Lu Jinghan came out of the bathroom, drying his half-dry hair, with only a towel wrapped around his strong body.
"You’re not going to work?"
"Hmm, not going in the morning."
Han Xi lifted the quilt and got out of bed, walking barefoot into the bathroom to freshen up: "By the way, Jinghan, I want to visit Manman later, so I probably can’t stay home with you."
Han Xi leaned out halfway, brushing her teeth and talking, with toothpaste foam still at the corner of her mouth.
Lu Jinghan put down the towel in his hand and walked a few steps into the bathroom, hugging Han Xi from behind: "I stayed at home on purpose, Mrs. Lu, are you sure you don’t want to spend time with me?"
Han Xi scooped some water to wash away the toothpaste foam from her mouth, her clear eyes looking at Lu Jinghan through the mirror: "I finally have a day off, and I want to go shopping with Manman, please put up with it, okay?"
Even though Lu Jinghan didn’t really want this girl to go out, he thought about how she finally got a day off, so he could only agree: "Hmm, then I’ll go to work later too."
After washing up and changing clothes, the two of them walked downstairs hand in hand.
Downstairs, Sister Zhang cheerfully brought out the food: "Madam, you didn’t eat dinner last night. Sir was worried that you’d have a stomach ache, so he specifically asked me to make some porridge to nourish your stomach."
"Thank you, Sister Zhang." Han Xi accepted the porridge from Sister Zhang and started eating.
"Wife, accompany me to visit Grandpa this afternoon." Lu Jinghan said while eating.
"Sure, I’ll come back early in the afternoon then."
After finishing the meal, Han Xi went shopping with Li Manman, and upon returning in the afternoon, drove with Lu Jinghan to the Lu Family’s old house.
A few days ago, when they were in Lin City, Old Sir Lu called Lu Jinghan, saying he hadn’t seen the two of them for a long time and asked him to bring Han Xi home for dinner.
The car stopped at the old house, Lu Jinghan got out and walked around to the passenger side, holding Han Xi’s small hand as they got out of the car.
At the door, Housekeeper Li greeted them cheerfully: "Young Master and Young Madam are here, the Old Sir talks about you every day."
"Hello, Uncle Li." Han Xi greeted Housekeeper Li with a light smile.
"Good, good, good."
Housekeeper Li saw them both with a smile so wide it couldn’t be closed. Ever since Lu Qing An was imprisoned and Ji Qing and her children were expelled from the Lu Family, the house became desolate all of a sudden.
Knowing they would come back, the kitchen had been bustling since early morning, and Old Master Lu’s face regained its usual smile.
Upon entering, the servants helped Lu Jinghan and Han Xi change into slippers. Old Master Lu in the living room turned around upon hearing the noise and was overjoyed to see the young couple.
"Xiao Xi, come sit by Grandpa."
With a smile on her face, Han Xi walked over and sat next to Old Master Lu: "Grandpa, Jinghan and I have been so busy lately, we haven’t had the chance to visit you."
"It’s okay, it’s okay."
Old Master Lu gestured for the servant beside him to bring the prepared sweets, looking kindly at his granddaughter-in-law, clearly very fond of her.
"Xiao Xi, why don’t you and Jinghan move here? Grandpa feels lonely by himself at home, it would be lively if you both were here."
Old Master Lu was clearly making a decision first and notifying them later. He knew if he asked his grandson directly, it would surely be rejected, so it was easier to talk to his granddaughter-in-law.
"Um... sure, Grandpa."
Han Xi didn’t know how to refuse the old man, so she could only nod and agree.
"No way, I don’t agree."
Lu Jinghan leaned casually on the sofa, but his calm voice carried an undoubted tone.
Old Master Lu wasn’t happy, looking angrily at his grandson: "Xiao Xi already agreed, why don’t you agree?"
Lu Jinghan wasn’t angry, on the contrary, he wore a look of having seen through Old Master Lu’s scheme, speaking slowly: "Old man, you asked us to come back today just to tell my wife about this, right? You knew I’d refuse, so you targeted my wife instead?"
Old Master Lu was slightly taken aback, silently praising his grandson’s sharp insight.
"Nonsense, am I that kind of person? Grandpa is so old, how could I trick you young people?"
Old Master Lu spoke righteously, not showing the slightest hint of guilt.
Beside him, Housekeeper Li held back a laugh, silently applauding Old Master Lu’s acting skills.
"No matter what, I won’t agree. Give up on this idea."
Lu Jinghan just wanted to enjoy life as a couple, and his little wife’s skin was so thin. If they really moved here, they couldn’t show their love as freely as at home.
Old Master Lu simply ignored him, turning around to look at Han Xi with a smile: "Xiao Xi, what do you think?"
Han Xi unconsciously twisted her small hands. In reality, she didn’t really want to move here either, as it wouldn’t be very convenient, but she didn’t want to disrespect the old man: "Grandpa, whatever you want, since you want us to move here, we’ll move."
